Chapter 881 Why...Are You So Good To Me?

"No matter what decision you make, I will support you, and I will also do my best to protect you. This is what Stella and I have discussed," Jasper promised.
Bellamy smiled lightly. He already knew that.
Stella had already decided to help Sean when she was giving her testimony in court.
He had no complaints or resentment. He knew Stella well and he knew that she would admit to her doings. She was someone who would bear the consequences for everything that she wanted to do.
This woman was his younger brother's wife. She was also his family, and all he could do was tolerate her.
His frustration and emotions would only burden and put pressure on Stella and Jasper.
Jasper was his only brother. Therefore, he will bear the stress, the burden, and the responsibility by himself.
"Take good care of Stella and your child. I'm heading back," Bellamy said calmly.
"Call me if you need anything." Jasper was concerned about Bellamy.
Bellamy's lips curled into a smile and said, "Don't forget that I'm a victorious general who has never lost a battle. Take good care of Stella."
Bellamy went out and got in his car. He shut his eyes and fell deep in thought.
An hour later, he arrived at the Presidential mansion.
Waverly had also seen the video on the Internet. She immediately came over from M Country. She had a lot to say to Bellamy, but she did not know where to begin.
"If I tell you that the truth is not what you think it is, will you believe me?" Waverly asked softly, looking at Bellamy expectantly.
"To be accurate, things aren't what the rumors say, yes? You've been set up by someone," Bellamy said with certainty.
Waverly's vision started to blur as her eyes filled with tears.
She did not expect that Bellamy would believe her, and he was certain about it. "Lenold and I were drugged by someone. We didn't do anything at all."
"Okay," Bellamy replied and removed his coat, placing it on the sofa.
He was only wearing a black suit and a white shirt. He was inflexible, unyielding, mature, and steady, demonstrating that temperament of a ruler. "Shall we discuss a way to resolve this matter?"
Waverly's heart skipped a beat. She lowered her eyes, sat opposite Bellamy, and asked, "Even if I didn't do anything, the only thing I could do is admit it, right?"
"Sometimes, the truth doesn't matter. Decisions have to be made based on public opinion. Unfortunately, humans are subject to such harsh truth. It's even worse if you are standing at the peak," Bellamy said cryptically.
Waverly understood and asked, "What do you plan to do then?"
"We will need to divorce because of the scandal. You were originally an outsider to the Mccarthy family anyway. I'm afraid that it will be hard for you to continue staying in the Mccarthy family since you have a scandal with your uncle-in-law now. You may pick a country, change your name, and start a new life there. I will give you enough money to live the life you want. You may be free and not be forced by anyone in the future. Perhaps, this is for the better," Bellamy said calmly.
The tears that Waverly had been holding back finally rolled down her cheeks.
For so many years, no one had thought for her in such a caring way except Bernald, her neighbor whom she once loved so dearly.
However, Bellamy did not know that she had fallen in love with him. It was impossible for her to be free anymore.
"When will the news be publicly announced?" Waverly sniffled, trying to calm herself down.
Her mind was blank, as though she was waiting for the final execution.
"After New Years'. Don't go online or read those comments during this period of time. I'll send you away after I have made all the arrangements and I will hold a press conference," Bellamy said composedly.
"Could I still contact you in the future?" Waverly asked in a choked voice.
"Call me if you encounter any difficulties in the future, alright? No matter what difficulties you face, I will help you," Bellamy promised.
"Why... why are you so good to me?" Waverly asked with teary eyes.
She wanted an answer. An answer that she could reminisce about for the rest of her life. An answer that would not make her feel lonely for the rest of her life whenever she thought about it.
"You were framed, set up, and discredited. The fact is that the root cause of this entire incident is that someone wants to get to me. You are just a step for them to get to me. I have to apologize to you because I have implicated you in all of this," Bellamy replied solemnly.
Waverly's eyes dimmed, and the glint of anticipation she had in her heart disappeared completely. In the end, this was the reason. She would rather that he blamed her, hated her, or not believe her. He had no love for her at all. There was only responsibility.
She lowered her head as tears welled up in her eyes and rolled down her cheeks. She clenched her fists tightly as she was about to lose control of her emotions. She stood up, walked into her room, closed the door, and began to cry uncontrollably.
She was sad because she could not get what she wanted. There was nothing between them except for the thin piece of marriage certification.
If Bellamy treated her badly, and if he was a bad person, and if she could find a flaw in him, she would not have fallen for him subconsciously. She would be able to gradually forget all about him as time passed.
However, in the end, he was still so kind, so responsible. He was bearing all the responsibilities and taking all the blame. She did not even feel guilty accepting his help.
However, he was so heartless when it came to their relationship. She hoped that he would have a little affection for her or a little reluctance to part with her. She would be satisfied even if he had just cared for her in the way she wanted to.
Perhaps then, she would not be as desperate as she was now. She could only accept her final decision without any complaints or grievances.
She gradually regained her rationality after crying for half an hour and venting all her emotions. She went to the bathroom to wash her face and she noticed that her eyes were red and swollen. She looked terrible and she did not want to see Bellamy.
She cared very much about his perception of her. Therefore, whenever she went to see him, she would dress herself up meticulously, not allowing herself to have a single flaw.
Hence, she refused to leave her room. She took out a Spanish language book and started to study hard. She put all her mind into her studies.
She would involuntarily think of the words that Bellamy said while she was reading. He said that he would divorce her and she would leave him. Perhaps, in the future, they would never see each other again. When she thought of this, her heart sank again, and she could not continue reading.
Would Bellamy remarry after he divorced her?
Who would his future wife be? What kind of person would she be?
Would it be a marriage alliance or someone whom he really liked?
Would he have a child with that woman?
They had never slept with each other. She felt upset whenever she thought about this. It felt like there was a flame in her body that would turn her into ashes.
All of a sudden, there was a knock on the door.
Startled, Waverly wiped the tears from her eyes and asked, "Who is it?"
"It's me. Can I come in?" Bellamy's voice came from the other side of the door.
"Give me a minute," Waverly ran into the bathroom and washed her face.
D*mn it, her eyes were red again.
