Chapter 846 Hopefully This Is The End of My Life
Eli tugged at Reuben's shirt and spoke with a pout, "Reuben, please keep it for me. I have a bad memory. I'll lose all my money if I forget all about it."
Reuben shook Eli's hand off. "Then remember this, there is still hope as long as you're alive. Doing stupid things brings no benefit to you."
He left angrily.
Eli raised her head and stared at the ceiling. Her eyes were red, and she was in a daze for a long time. After a while, Reuben came over with a distraught expression.
"Mr. Yaleman is angry. They want to start playing but no one is picking up their balls."
Eli touched her nose and asked, "Is it my job to pick up the balls?"
"Yes, that seems to be the arrangement," Reuben said worriedly.
Eli made an 'okay' gesture and said, "I'll head there right now. I was driven away just now, so you can't blame me."
"I don't blame you. I'm just worried about you. Mr. Yaleman obviously wants to vent his anger on you. Be careful," Reuben reminded.
Eli nodded. Looking at the worried look on his face, she patted him on the shoulder, "Don't worry."
When she went out, she saw Sean glaring at her fiercely.
She smiled faintly.
Being alive, one could really experience all sorts of strange things. Sean had so much hysterical hatred for her and he treated her so harshly.
He swung his club and scored a hole in one.
"Wow, Alastair, you're so amazing. I don't know how to play at all," Eudora jumped up in excitement, her face full of youth and romance.
Sean handed the club to Eli.
Eli took it and watched as Sean went behind Eudora. He held her hands and with their bodies pressed against each other, teaching her how to play golf.
She looked away and wondered if she should go pick up the balls.
Eudora swung her club, but she was too weak. Her ball was a little far from the hole.
The two of them walked towards the ball hand in hand and continued to play.
Eli felt quite awkward. Should she go with them or...?
She kept her head low and followed behind them. Eudora took 12 tries to get her ball into the hole.
Eli picked up the ball immediately.
Sean and Eudora had a great time playing golf together. They played a total of 7 rounds.
Honestly, it was a little hot to be standing under the October sun.
Eli's face was drenched with sweat and she was thirsty. She glanced in the direction of the small room. Reuben stood by the window and looked at her with concern.
She smiled and told herself to hang on a little while longer. Sunshine would be good for getting vitamin D and killing bacteria. Plus, it would improve blood circulation too. There were plenty of benefits.
Finally, Eudora felt tired after playing ten rounds, so they sat at a rest area.
Eli noticed that Eudora had finished her drink. She was glad that she could use the drinks as an excuse to take a short break. Then, she heard Sean say softly, "Rest here for a while. I'll go get you some drinks."
Eudora was touched. "Thank you, Alastair."
Sean threw a cold glance at Eli and walked towards the small house.
After a while, Sean came over with two glasses of grapefruit juice.
"Ah!" Eudora suddenly screamed, "Snakes, there are snakes! There are snakes here."
Eli saw that there really was a snake near Eudora's ankle. She was so scared that she immediately looked down at her feet. Fortunately, there wasn't any snake near her.
Sean ran over quickly and the snake slithered away.
"Eudora, are you okay?" Sean asked worriedly.
"Alastair, I was bitten by a snake," Eudora said as she sobbed.
Sean looked at Eli with hatred and said discriminately, "You did it, didn't you?"
"What?" Eli asked in shock.
He sneered. "There's no one else here, and you are not afraid of snakes. Who else could it be? Why would you do something like this? Do you think I will like you if you hurt her? What kind of vile woman are you?"
Eli was really angry, so much so that she started to find it laughable. "Sean, I have one arm. Are you dumb? I've been here accompanying you guys the entire afternoon. Do you think I could be carrying a snake around in my pocket? Even if I did, I would need time to go catch a snake. Does it look like I have the time to do so? Also, me? Liking you? Ha!"
Eli raised her hand to her face and said coldly and firmly, "I solemnly swear that if I will be struck dead by lightning if I still like you, Sean Yaleman. I will never be reincarnated, and I will live a life worse than hell."
Sean's eyes grew colder. His whole body was exuding an intense aura of hatred. "Guards, lock Eli up in the cave. You are not allowed to give her water or food until she begs for mercy."
Eli laughed. She would not beg for mercy even if she died.
If she courted death, he would take revenge on Stella. If he killed her, then he wouldn't be able to go after her, right?
Seeing that a group of people had grabbed Eli, Reuben immediately came over.
Eli smiled at him, shook her head, and was taken away.
Sean didn't show any mercy. He locked her up in a cave in the backyard. It was an actual cave with a gate installed. There was nothing inside but rocks.
She stayed in the cave for three days. She didn't die but she fell ill. It was too cold and damp in the cave.
She sat on a slightly elevated rock.
The first day was the hardest. She was thirsty, hungry, and cold. She couldn't sleep properly and she had a headache and she felt nauseated. There was no one to talk to either.
Even when Hodge and his men tortured her, she still had a room with a bed and blanket.
Sean really was a cruel man. Hodge and his men were not even one-tenth of his level.
It was still tough the next day. She had no strength to get up and she didn't feel like speaking. She didn't even have the energy to think anymore. She puked later that night and felt even weaker. She passed out in a daze and woke up in the middle of the night. She still felt dizzy and she fainted again shortly after.
"Eli, Eli," She could hear someone calling her name.
She woke up in a daze and looked at the door weakly.
"I've brought you some water and chocolate. Remember to drink it slowly. You'll die if you don't drink any water for three days. I can't stay here for too long. Remember to eat it, alright?" Reuben stuffed the drinks and chocolate through the cracks.
He had put the water in a sealed bag.
Eli looked at the things on the ground. She didn't even have the strength to smile.
There was only one day left. After one more day, she would die. She would be fine as long as she could endure that one final day.
She didn't get up to take the water. She closed her eyes. Her stomach felt horrible and her head felt like it was about to explode. After she puked, her body had weakened immensely.
She started hallucinating. She saw her parents smiling as they walked over towards her. Haward was stretching his hand out to her with a warm smile.
She also smiled, and her whole body was floating. She closed her eyes and fell into a deep coma...
"Thump, thump, thump."
She heard the sound of her heart beating after an unknown period of time. She felt like her entire body was thumping along with it. There was also a ticking sound in her ears.
She opened her eyes slowly and saw Sean with a face full of stubble. She suddenly felt irritated. Why was it him again? Why was he still haunting me?
"Doctor!" Sean shouted in distress.
Eli saw a group of doctors running in. She frowned and closed her eyes.
Why was it so hard to die?
"How are you feeling? Where does it hurt? Tell me. These are the top doctors in the field. They will take good care of you," Sean said worriedly.
