Chapter 947 The Cold Builds, The Warm Breaks

"Bell, take a good rest. It's cold nowadays. Remember to wear more layers. I'm going out later," Waverly said softly.
"You should also wear more clothes yourself too. Don't run around outside. Remember to come back and drink a cup of hot tea to warm yourself. You should take care of yourself while you are still young so that you won't suffer when you get old," he instructed.
She nodded. This was just a video call. However, just by listening to a few words from him, she felt more energized. No matter how wronged, bullied, or sad she was, as long as he was healthy and safe, everything was worth it. She then answered him, "Alright, got it. I'll hang up for now."
He hummed to reply and looked at her deeply.
She smiled and hung up the call. She closed her eyes, and tears started to fall. She kept silent for a long time while she recalled the conversation in the video call many times.
Even when Joseph wanted to kill her, she did not cry.
However, Bellamy's warmth and care made her cry nonstop.
A series of knocks on the door interrupted her train of thoughts.
She went to the window and heard Sophia shouting from outside, "Open the door. I know you are at home. Do you think hiding will solve anything? Come out."
Waverly frowned. She placed the dog on the ground and went downstairs to open the door.
Sophia wanted to slap her in the face.
However, she dodged. She raised her gun and pointed at Sophia's head indifferently. She said in a cold voice, "Don't be rude to me. I can kill you with my own hands any time."
When she saw that the pistol was pointing at her head, Sophia couldn't help but feel frightened. She said with her eyes glimmering, "Miss Martell, let's talk about it properly. Put down the gun first. It doesn't matter if I'm dead. However, your uncle won't let you go easily."
"I'm surprised that you still know how to talk nicely. I don't even want my life anymore, so do you think I'll be afraid of him?" She took two steps back, put away the gun, and looked at Sophia coldly. "What do you want?"
"Miss Mccarthy thought that you and Mr. Langham had gone away together, therefore she wants to meet you!" Sophia said.
"She's really stupid. Why would I go back if I had already decided to run away? What's wrong? Is Lenold missing?" Waverly squinted her eyes.
"He has been missing for three days, and we can't find him. He turned off his phone. It so happened that you were gone for three days too, hence Miss Mccarthy suspected that it was you," Sophia explained.
Waverly's heart jolted. She was worried that something had happened to Lenold. Joseph was indeed extremely cruel.
"There is no need to come to me. I don't know where Lenold went. That's all. Get lost now." Waverly's gaze moved outside the door.
Hayley bought some fruit and ran back quickly when she saw Sophia from a distance.
Seeing that the fierce girl, Hayley, was going to come back, Sophia thought that she could no longer get any benefits from the visit, hence she tactfully left Waverly's place.
"Madam, they are bullying you again. I'm going to whack them," Hayley said worriedly.
"No, Hayley, have you checked the surveillance of the house? There are no outsiders, right?" Waverly said worriedly.
"No, I'm certain," Hayley said confidently.
"I just brought back a poodle. Give it a warm and cozy spot," Waverly ordered. Then, she went upstairs and called Lenold.
As expected, his phone was turned off.
She had a bad feeling and called Joseph.
After five rings, he answered the phone. Instead of waiting for her to speak, he said in a cold voice, "If you are looking for me because of Lenold, shouldn't you be very clear about why he has disappeared?"
"You killed him?" She was shocked.
He chuckled and didn't answer her directly, "I'm going to work now. You know, you've ruined my plan. I have to make up another plan for Sean. Otherwise, if he's disappointed, I'll lose a right-hand man."
After he finished speaking, he directly hung up the phone without giving her a chance to speak.
The more Waverly thought about it, the more uneasy she felt. Joseph said that she should be aware of why Lenold had disappeared. Could it be that he knew her plan, hence he took action on him?
No way. She could not just sit still and do nothing.
Therefore, she headed out.
"Madam, I made a doghouse using the carton boxes. Is it okay? I'll put some bedding inside it. Should the doghouse be placed in your room or on the first floor?" Hayley asked.
"Put it next to my room. It's empty. We'll buy him some toys when we come back in the afternoon. Hayley, accompany me to go out first. I want to meet Qianna," she said seriously.
Hayley frowned. "Why do we have to meet her? She annoys us every day. She's so irritating."
"I have my reasons to meet her. Let's go." Waverly walked out in a hurry and even forgot to put on a coat. A gust of wind blew over, and it was a little chilly.
She quickened her pace and arrived at Qianna's residence. Standing outside the door, she heard the sound of her smashing things.
She knocked on the door.
Sophia opened the door and was shocked to see her, "What are you doing here?"
"I think my aunt is hoping to meet me," Waverly said calmly.
Hearing Waverly's voice, Qianna rushed out of the room and said angrily, "How dare you come to meet me? Where is Lenold? Where did you hide him?"
"For the past three days, I was in Z Country. Bellamy was in danger. I initially wanted to leave the Department of External Affairs, but someone stopped me. Hence, I went to Z Country alone. As long as you send someone to inquire about it, you can verify that what I said is true. I was in a hurry when I left. I didn't even bring my clothes, and I left alone. Lenold's matter has nothing to do with me."
"Then, where did he go?" Qianna pushed her violently.
She was pushed back a few steps and frowned, "Can you listen to me calmly and let me finish my words first?"
"Go on. if you can't say anything, I won't let you go." Qianna clenched her fists in anger.
"Who do you think is the person who doesn't want you to be with Lenold the most?" She asked.
"Who? It must be you. Except for you, I can't think of anyone else," Qianna said without giving it much thought.
Waverly suddenly felt speechless, "If it was me, why am I still talking to you?"
"Surely, you came to see me make a fool of myself. Waverly, I'm telling you. Lenold is my man, and he will never be yours," Qianna said angrily. She took the pillow on the sofa and threw it at her.
Waverly stood still, "Since you are so stupid, I won't expect you to save Lenold then."
She turned around.
"What do you mean?" Qianna ran to the front of Waverly. "Where did you take Lenold to? Who caught him? You two indeed ran away together."
She looked at Qianna coldly. "I'll say it again. I went to Z Country alone, and it has nothing to do with Lenold. Secondly, the person who doesn't want you to be with him is not me, it's Joseph. Thirdly, Lenold's disappearance may be related to Joseph. You should ask him instead of bothering me every day. That's all I can say."
"Joseph?" Qianna looked at her in shock.
Waverly said straightforwardly, "If you and Lenold got along well, you won't marry Beckham. If you don't marry Beckham, how can he be related to the Mccarthy family then?"
"I'll go and look for him right now," Qianna said impulsively...
