Chapter 925 I Know Who You Truly Love!
Qianna's eyes lit up with hope as she looked at Lenold, "Really?"
Lenold stared at Waverly.
Waverly looked at him calmly. It was as if her eyes were covered with mist, shrouded with mystery.
In just two seconds, Lenold seemed to have figured it all out.
If he didn't play along with Waverly, Qianna wouldn't let him appear in the Mccarthy's residence. If he couldn't appear in this place, that meant that he wouldn't be able to see Waverly.
"Yes, Qianna. I have a lot of unexplained matters, and there's no way to explain them. Do you trust me?" Lenold looked at Qianna.
Qianna looked at Lenold and Waverly, "Is there really nothing going on between you two?"
"I'm still a virgin. What else could we do?" Waverly said.
"You should get yourself checked at the hospital. I have friends there. You wouldn't be able to lie to me then," Qianna was still skeptical. She didn't believe that Waverly, who had been married for five years, had never slept with a man.
"Okay," Waverly agreed readily.
"Well, what about your phone call? I've watched the live broadcast. How do you explain that?" Qianna looked at Lenold bitterly.
"It was Joseph's doing. If I don't listen to him, he won't let me see the light of day. He must get Waverly to divorce Bellamy for Bellamy to completely cut ties with the Mccarthys," Lenold explained.
"Bellamy is the President. Why would he cut ties with the Mccarthys? Is it out of his mind?" Qianna said calmly.
Lenold explained, "When the Mccarthys was in trouble, he only asked Stella to help with the investigation and made a statement against them. Since he hit the Mccarthys when they were at rock bottom, there was no longer a need for them to partner with him. Therefore, the Mccarthys had to cut ties with him and tarnish his reputation. Then, Beckham is the one that the Mccarthys wants to partner with, so that is why he asked you to marry Beckham."
"I'm not marrying him. Why should I be the sacrificial lamb? Since nothing is going on between you and Waverly, you are innocent. We don't need to get a divorce," Qianna said angrily.
"The divorce is to appease the public. Now in everyone's eyes, I'm a scumbag and you're the victim. Beckham is the savior."
Qianna said stubbornly, "What savior? Isn't it all his own word? I don't need to marry Beckham if we don't get divorced. He could just get anyone he wants. I'm not going to marry him, anyway."
Waverly looked at them coldly. Joseph really went all out to force her to get a divorce from Bellamy. He was manipulative and calculative.
With her around, he couldn't get his way.
"Since you've made enough trouble here, could you leave now? I slept late yesterday, and I wanted to take an afternoon nap," Waverly said coldly.
"Come with me. I have something to ask you." Qianna pulled Lenold over to her, "You swear that nothing is going on with you and Waverly?"
Lenold raised his hands and said, "I swear that Waverly and I are innocent. The video was Joseph's trap. Also, you could bring Waverly for a checkup to see for yourself. Then, you will know whether I'm lying."
Qianna trusted him and hugged Lenold, "I don't want us to get a divorce."
"The video is out. I can't explain myself. The mass won't believe it. We need to get a divorce to appease the crowd," Lenold explained.
"Let's just stay together without the public knowing then," said Qianna.
Lenold was silent. There were only three women in the Mccarthy family; Waverly, Waverly's mother, and Qianna.
Qianna was the only one who could marry Beckham. If she didn't marry him, Joseph wouldn't let him off as he had promised.
"Qianna, stop being so stubborn. Joseph could set me up to get what he wants. If you don't get married to him, he'll kill me too," Lenold said worriedly.
"Are you saying that you would rather I get married to Beckham to save your life than to stay with me?" Qianna's voice was sharp as she glared at Lenold.
"That's not what I meant. We could come up with a long-term plan. Anyway, you haven't married Beckham yet. At most, I'll take you away when you're about to marry him. We'll go abroad, and they won't be able to find us."
"Really?" Qianna was happy. She held Lenold's arm and leaned her head on his shoulder, "Don't find Waverly anymore. I don't like her."
Lenold answered, "I can't let anyone else know that I came here to look for you. Otherwise, they wouldn't let us meet again."
"Okay, I won't tell anyone. I miss you so much. We haven't gotten together for a long time," Qianna said with a kiss.
"There are still days ahead of us. I have to go. We'll be in touch," Lenold said as he pushed Qianna's hand away.
"Why are you in such a hurry? This place is usually deserted. Even if you stay here tonight, no one will find out," Qianna took his hand and refused to let him go.
Lenold felt helpless. He didn't want to be with Qianna, but she was persistent. If he didn't do it, he wouldn't be able to find an excuse next time. He lowered his head and kissed her on the lips. All of a sudden, his phone rang.
He quickly answered it, "Got it. I'll come right now. Give me ten minutes. Bye."
Lenold hung up the phone.
Qianna frowned and said, "What's the matter? What's the rush?"
"I have something important to do. We will reunite once the matter is settled. Just wait a little longer, alright?" Lenold said. He kissed Qianna and immediately turned around and left.
In fact, it was just a sales call. He didn't know who was on the other line. He left Qianna hurriedly.
He went to the lake to find Waverly.
Waverly knew that he would come back, hence she asked Hayley to guard the door.
Hayley didn't like Lenold. At a glance, she could tell that he was a playboy. She stopped him and said impolitely, "The Madam is asleep. Please don't disturb her. Go be with your woman."
"I've got something important to discuss with her. Get out of my way," Lenold shoved Hayley away.
Hayley grabbed Lenold's arm and held him firmly, "The Madam said the so-called important thing that you mentioned is not important to her. She doesn't want to hear it, nor does she want to know about it either. If you trouble her again, she will have your woman bother you first."
Lenold took a deep breath and turned around to look at Hayley, "Tell her that the important thing I want to tell her has to do with Bellamy."
"Mr. President?" Hayley was stunned. She let go of Lenold's hand and said, "Give me a moment. I'll let her know."
Hayley entered the house, closed the door, knocked on the door, and entered Waverly's room.
Waverly was ready to sleep. She hadn't slept well for many days. Her head was throbbing, and she urgently needed to sleep to clear her mind.
"Madam, he said that he has something important to tell you. It's about the President of A Country," Hayley reported.
