Chapter 1025 Believe It Or Not, I Will Kill You
Half an hour later, Yadriel came in. He glanced at the breakfast on the table and frowned, "You ate too little."
"I can eat this entire meal for a week. How is it possible for me to finish it in one meal?" Waverly protested.
"Mr. Mccarthy told me that you have to eat half of it before I can send you away," Yadriel reminded.
"I really can't eat that much. You can help me with this. If you tell him I have eaten half of it, he'll believe you," Waverly requested.
"The chef isn't stupid and the maids aren't stupid either," Yadriel said expressionlessly.
"Are there any surveillance cameras in this room?" Waverly asked curiously.
"No," Yadriel honestly replied.
"Then, you could eat some," Waverly suggested.
Yadriel was dumbfounded.
He pursed his lips and stayed quiet.
Waverly cracked a smile and her expression became a lot more pleasant, "I will remember your act of kindness and I won't harm you, alright?"
Yadriel clenched his jaw and went forward to grab the small cake from the plate.
Elated, Waverly handed him a fork, "You can eat with this."
Yadriel frowned and ignored Waverly, continuing on eating.
"Can I make a phone call?" Waverly asked.
"Pfft," Yadriel spat out the food in his mouth.
Fortunately, Waverly was sitting far away from him, so she was not affected.
Yadriel pulled out a serviette, "Don't go overboard. I won't help you harm Mr. Joseph, even if I have to die."
"Got it. Don't be so aggravated. Besides, I just want to call Hayley. Joseph won't disagree with that," Waverly explained.
Yadriel rejected her request firmly, "Then, you should get permission from Mr. Mccarthy first and he'll give me an order to do so. Don't even think about doing anything without his permission."
Waverly smirked, "Didn't he order that if I don't eat half of this, he won't let me go? You still disobeyed his orders."
"You're such a slick one," Yadriel snarled.
Not even the slightest offended by his insult, Waverly replied, "Let's go. Send me back earlier. Stay away from slick people like me so that you'll live longer too."
Yadriel angrily walked ahead of her.
Waverly followed him and got into his car. She looked out of the window and asked, "Excluding you, are there any of Joseph's men following me now?"
Yadriel unwillingly gave her an answer.
"How did he block the signal of only my mobile phone, but not that of the people around me? How did he do that?" Waverly asked.
Yadriel stayed quiet as his face was tense and he looked forward expressionlessly.
"Joseph actually called me this morning. I think I can call him back and tell him that you used my fork," Waverly implied.
Just as Waverly finished speaking, Yadriel stepped on the brakes and glared at her in rage, "What the hell are you trying to do? Believe it or not, I can kill you right now."
Waverly was not afraid at all as she retorted, "You've always wanted to kill me, yet until now you still haven't. It's because you don't dare to and you can't. Why are you telling me this? I am not scared and I strongly believe that you won't actually do that."
"You're so cunning to the point where you even want to drive a wedge between us," Yadriel gritted his teeth as he was brimming with hatred.
The last time, Waverly had purposely used the roses incident to raise misunderstandings between them, causing Joseph to be angry with him for a long time.
He feared Waverly's provocation and he especially hated women like her.
Waverly laughed, "I don't hate you nor do I want to hurt you. Of course, I won't make you betray Mr. Joseph, because it's impossible for you to do that. However, if you make me miserable, I can upset you too. Of course, there is one exception. If you are willing to tell me something which I'm curious about, I won't harm you. What do you think of this deal?"
Yadriel frowned and said, "All of M Country's communications are in Mr. Mccarthy's hands. He can shield the signal of a person's mobile phone from a distance and he can also do it by sections, by people, and by areas. The entire process requires a special branch of technology, but it is not too complicated either."
"Can he know the contents of a call?" Waverly continued to ask.
"Of course, he can. All electronic and network information will go through a black box first before being transmitted. It's doable if you want to eavesdrop on someone," Yadriel revealed.
Waverly frowned, "That means that even if Joseph doesn't install a monitor in my mobile phone, he can still know all the data inside?"
"Yes, that's right," Yadriel answered.
Waverly's shoulders dropped. No wonder she felt that Joseph seemed to know everything. It turned out that he really did know everything. That was why he could stop her plans easily and figure out her goals. He could also get hold of many other people's secrets.
Nowadays, too many secrets were being shared through the phone and the Internet.
When had Joseph taken control of the communication system?
"Our current conversation isn't through a mobile phone. Will Joseph still know about this?" Waverly continued to ask.
"Mr. Mccarthy can only obtain information sent through mobile phones that have been processed and saved in the black box. He won't find out about conversations that haven't been transmitted through a telephone line," Yadriel clarified.
"So, unless he installs a monitor, he won't know about our conversation now?" Waverly asked.
"Yes, that's right," Yadriel confirmed.
"According to your words, Joseph should know a lot of the Harrington family's secrets right now, no?" Waverly questioned.
"Harrington family's electronic information is processed by other black boxes, so he isn't able to know," Yadriel revealed.
Waverly had finally figured the process out. Joseph would have overthrown Ronald if he could know the Harrington family's secrets.
Apparently, the Harrington family was using another black box.
"Does Mccarthy family have another black box?" Waverly asked in confusion.
"No, not even Thomson. However, he is a righteous and honest person. He has no secrets," Yadriel explained.
"You can track the person who shot Bellamy through mobile phone signals, right?" Waverly asked again.
"If the shooter and the client contacted each other through mobile phones, we can trace them. However, it will take a certain amount of time, manpower and energy," Yadriel explained.
"It takes a lot of people to eavesdrop on every government official, perhaps even some well-known merchants, right?" Waverly assumed.
"Thousands of people. You've asked too many questions," Yadriel was growing impatient.
"Last question. You've also eavesdropped on Madam Lenny before, haven't you?" Waverly was incredibly curious.
"Madam Lenny is an extremely cautious person. She uses over a hundred phone numbers, many of which we don't even know about. Plus, she will get rid of some numbers and buy in new numbers from time to time. So, it's very difficult to track her. Alright, that's the last question. Don't ask me anymore." Yadriel shut his mouth and never spoke again.
Madam Lenny was indeed extremely discreet. Perhaps, she did know something, hence she had chosen to work with Joseph.
Waverly returned to the small courtyard by the lake. As soon as she got out of the car, Hayley rushed out of the room and cried, "Madam, something happened! Something really big happened!"
