Chapter 1103 Having A Mutual Love Is The Ideal Life
Joseph raised his eyebrows and his eyes began to show a sliver of emotion.
When he heard the words 'believe in you', it was as if something had landed on his heart with a soft thud.
"Where are your cosmetics?" Joseph asked.
"I have a lot. First, use the skin care in the bathroom. Your subordinates already helped me move them up," Waverly said. She took a bottle of water and a bottle of moisturizing oil and handed it to him, "Add two drops of moisturizing oil in the toner."
Joseph poured the toner and dripped two drops of the moisturizer into it, "It's quite troublesome for girls to do makeup. Even after putting on makeup, you girls don't look much younger than a man without makeup."
"Men and women's bodies are different. Men's metabolism is faster," Waverly said.
He applied the makeup on Waverly's face.
"If you wipe it on like this, the nutrients will be absorbed by your hand. You should apply it to a cotton pad before applying it on the face," Waverly took a disposable cotton pad and handed it to Joseph.
"I've already wiped it on. What's the point of giving it to me now?"
Waverly handed him a bottle of emulsion, "Use this."
Joseph knitted his brows, "How many layers do you usually need to apply?"
"Quite a lot."
"So when I normally kiss you, I'm actually kissing the few walls between us?"
Inexplicably, Waverly was amused and she laughed.
"Don't laugh. The powder is falling off your face."
"I haven't even applied the powder yet," Waverly corrected him.
He put the emulsion fluid on for her.
Waverly handed him another bottle and said, "This is a primer. It's a spray. Please help me spray it on my face. You can stand a bit further away."
Joseph took the bottle from Waverly's hand and sprayed it on her face a few times. Then, he wiped her face a few times with the makeup cotton and complained, "If you apply your make-up like this, it'll take you more than ten minutes, won't it?"
"It depends on the complexity of the make-up and the proficiency of one's makeup skills. You can do it in three minutes or 30 minutes. If you do your hair as well, it's normal for us to take an hour," Waverly explained.
"When you used to stay with Bellamy in the past, did you also spend an hour to put on makeup every day?"
"Yes, I did."
"If you have the time for makeup, it'd be better for you to sleep." He put down the primer, "Is it okay now?"
Waverly handed the foundation liquid to Joseph, "This is the foundation liquid. The liquid will come out automatically when you press that button there. You just need to apply it evenly onto my face."
Joseph put on the foundation, "It's like painting a wall. Your face is much whiter. Actually, your face with make-up doesn't look much more beautiful than without make-up. Do you think it's pointless for you to spend so much time on makeup?"
"Joseph, do you have prosopagnosia?" Waverly asked.
"What nonsense are you spewing? I never forget a face. I can imagine your face even with my eyes closed," Joseph said and smeared the foundation on her face. "Look, is it almost done? You were already pale, but now you look like a zombie. You don't look beautiful at all."
Waverly looked at the mirror. Joseph had applied the foundation evenly and there were no uneven patches. He had done a nice job.
She handed another small bottle to Joseph.
"You still want to apply another layer on top of it?" Joseph took the small bottle in Waverly's hand and spun it open. There was a small brush in it and he asked, "What is this?"
"Apply it around my eyes and then use the other small brush to brush it off."
"Are you going to perform a big show? Make-up is so complicated. Not even face masks are this complicated," Joseph teased, but the movements of his hands didn't stop. "I'm done."
"I use eyebrow powder, which is usually dark brown," Waverly opened the box of eyebrow powder and handed it to Joseph.
He picked up the pencil and drew Waverly's eyebrows.
He was too close to her. His breath fell on her face.
At that moment, he was focused on drawing her eyebrows correctly. His usual treacherousness, arrogance and mischief were absent.
She remembered the story that Bellamy had told her.
In the past, the queen of their country liked her eyebrows to be drawn by her husband. At that time, eyebrow pencils were soft, so it was difficult for one to draw them.
Only scholars who had been writing with a brush for many years could draw beautiful eyebrows.
"Why do you need to draw your eyebrows? Aren't you pretty enough without that?" After finishing, Joseph put the brush back into the palette.
Waverly looked into the mirror.
She was dumbfounded.
Her eyebrows had been drawn particularly deep and they were so twisted that they looked like caterpillars, making her look rough and wild.
However, Joseph was elated. He put his face close to hers and said, "Do you think I drew them well?"
"Do you think that you did well?" Waverly retorted.
"Of course, you were a little ugly before. However, after I've drawn your eyebrows, you look much better. Previously you looked ugly, but now you are beautiful as a swan," Joseph said with a smile.
Waverly gave up, "The other cosmetics are in my bag. You can apply them on my face as you like. I will go with whatever you apply onto my face."
"You...Are you okay?" asked Joseph suspiciously.
"Do you think I'm upset because of your disastrous eyebrow-drawing skills? Don't worry, I am not that fragile," Waverly went and took out all her cosmetics in her bag, putting them on the table.
Joseph turned over the cosmetics on the table and said, "This isn't makeup. Are you trying to sculpt another face? There are way too many tools."
He took out the mascara and twisted it open, "What's this for? To dye white hair?"
"Applying it on eyelashes will make them look black, thick and long," Waverly explained.
"Bellamy also uses mascara?" Joseph asked and sat down opposite Waverly.
"He doesn't need it. He has had thick eyebrows and big eyes since he was born."
The corners of Joseph's mouth curled up, "So what?!"
He threw the mascara on the coffee table, "I'm in no mood to put on makeup for you. Do it yourself."
Waverly glanced at him and took out a square paper that was smaller than her palm from another small box.
"What's that?" Joseph asked in confusion.
"A makeup remover wipe." Waverly said as she wiped the makeup off her eyebrows.
"What's the difference between this and the other cotton pad that you gave me? Aren't they all the same?"
"The previous one was dry and smooth. It won't stain the powder or absorb the oil. This makeup remover wipe now contains chemicals to remove makeup. It is also not dry," Waverly explained.
Staying quiet, Joseph just watched her put on makeup.
After drawing her eyebrows, she applied several layers of eyeshadow, eyeliner and mascara. Then, she put on lipstick, some patches of rouge and shadow on her face and then added some highlights.
Joseph stared at her until she finished her makeup. He looked at the time on his watch and said, "It's been half an hour."
Waverly put on a big pair of hoop earrings, "I'll put on a pair of contact lenses. Then, we can go out."
Joseph scratched his eyebrows and looked a little confused, "Did you put on makeup when you visited me?"
"Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. What's wrong?" Waverly asked, took out her contact lens and cleaned them before putting them on.
Joseph stared into her eyes.
Waverly was using contact lenses with black edges at the edge.
At that moment, he realized that there was a difference between her before and after makeup. Why hadn't he noticed it before? It seemed that whether she wore makeup or not, she was still the same in his eyes.
"I don't like the way you look after putting on makeup," Joseph said with an expressionless face.
After putting on makeup, she looked too charming, too glamorous and too beautiful.
