Chapter 1080 Worse Than A Dog
"Well then, I'll take my leave first. You should hurry back to the hospital and have a good rest. You should value your body for only you know your own health. People always say that one will break down from constant overwork. You may think that it's alright now, but when you collapse, it will be too late," Waverly said gently.
Bellamy looked at her silently, as if he had a lot to say.
Waverly only lowered her eyes to avoid his gaze and walked towards the door.
Quill looked at Bellamy.
Bellamy nodded his head.
Quill frowned and opened the door.
Waverly got out of the car without looking back.
"I'm sorry, Mr. President. I was the one being a burden. If I hadn't been so careless, you and Madam wouldn't have had such a big misunderstanding," Quill said apologetically.
Bellamy sat still, not moving at all. His entire body seemed to be enveloped by an unknown aura, looking powerful yet lonely at the same time.
Quill felt sad and said, "Mr. President, please make Madam stay."
"I am at fault in this matter. I've gone too far this time. I shouldn't have taken her generosity, her understanding and her patience for granted," Bellamy muttered to himself.
"The reason Mr. President did all this is because you wanted to bring Madam back openly and grandly. If you offend Madam Lenny now, there will surely be trouble when you bring Madam back in the future," Quill analyzed the situation.
"She'll also get hurt and sad. If I blindly force her to compromise, she'll be even more upset," Bellamy said in a low voice.
"If Madam goes to M Country this time, we don't know when she'll come back," Quill reminded him.
Bellamy glanced towards the door, "I have to give her time. Let's go back to the hospital. As for Yasmine, you can let her go now."
Quill got out of the car and watched Bellamy's car drove back. He found Waverly, who was not far away.
"Madam!" Quill called out.
Waverly stopped, turned her head and looked at Quill.
She recognized Quill and asked, "What's wrong?"
"Mr. President is quite ill. The gunshot wound from last time hasn't healed completely. When you jumped into the lake, he also followed, thus his wound was infected. He has been holding it back. He didn't want you to feel guilty and worried about him. It's all my fault this time he was poisoned by a snake and fell ill. Mr. President made a promise with Madam Lenny because he wanted to save me. Originally, it was all to pave the way for Madam to return safely and grandly to Mr. President," explained Quill.
Waverly smiled and said, "I know. Go back and take good care of him then. These days, he has suffered too many injuries. I'm afraid his luck will run out if he keeps putting his life in jeopardy like this. Take care of him as he will need you in the future."
"Mr. President hopes that you can stay with him," Quill begged.
"We are destined to be separated. Each moment that we are together will only make our hearts ache more, and the paths that we take will diverge even more. We will be even more unwilling, more depressed, and more incapable of being firm and strong. We will live in sadness, sorrow, and we won't be able to do anything about it. If fate really wants us together, then we will be together. Until then, we should just wait patiently and get on with our lives," Waverly said calmly.
"Mr. President will definitely think of a way to bring you back," Quill said with certainty.
Waverly smiled slightly but did not answer his question. She turned around and walked away.
She returned to the hotel where she found Hayley waiting for her in front of the hotel entrance.
Waverly passed by her and walked towards the elevator.
Hayley was about to cry. She followed Waverly and cried pitifully, "Madam, Madam, please don't leave me alone."
Waverly ignored her and walked into the elevator with no expression.
Hayley also hurriedly went in.
"Hayley, I don't even want Bellamy anymore. Do you think that I'll still want you?" Waverly said as she looked at Hayley.
"I've always been on Madam's side. I won't say anything you don't want me to. I'll do whatever you want me to do. If I'm not with you, you won't have anyone to take care of you. I'm worried about you, Madam," Hayley said as she cried.
Waverly sighed and looked at Hayley, "If you get caught between Bellamy and I, you will be stressed. You are still young. Being around me is too dangerous. I know that you aren't afraid of danger. You are willing to die for me, but I will feel guilty for that and I will feel burdened. It will also affect me making my decisions because I will need to take your safety into consideration."
"I'll take care of myself," Hayley insisted.
"If I hadn't protected you, you would have died in the past. You are still young, and there are still a lot of things in the world waiting for you to discover. Don't follow me. It's not a good thing for you to be entangled in such filthy issues."
"Madam!" Hayley shouted, wanting to follow Waverly.
Waverly smiled and said, "During this period of time when you're away from me, you have to take care of yourself well. Don't let me down the next time we meet."
"But Madam, how can you hold up on your own? There will be no one to talk to you. You'll be alone even when you cook and sleep. I want to accompany Madam. Although I'm useless and won't be of any use to you, at least I have my company to provide to Madam. I don't want Madam to be alone," Hayley sobbed.
"So, you have to live well. I will call you. When the time comes, don't just accompany your friends and not talk to me, for I will be sad if that happens."
"Madam..." Hayley shook Waverly's arm.
Waverly rubbed Hayley's head.
With a ding, the elevator opened and Waverly resolutely went out.
Hayley stayed in the elevator, crying helplessly.
However, Waverly was determined to leave. She returned to her room, laid down on the bed, and closed her eyes to rest.
Humans were born as lone souls. When they left the world, they would leave alone as well. Through the journey of life, the more they adapted to the loneliness, the more they would not be afraid of it. Then, they would become more powerful, fearless and calm.
She fell asleep in a daze.
She was awakened by the ringing of the phone in the room. When she opened her eyes, she felt a strong sense of loneliness overwhelming her.
She answered the phone.
"Come to Jade Peak Room on the second floor of the hotel," Yasmine said. After that, she directly hung up on the call.
Waverly sneered, "She's not even giving me a chance to retort."
She pulled out the phone cord and continued to lie on the bed. After resting for a while, she couldn't sleep. She got up, turned on the TV, and went to take a bath.
Her cell phone rang.
Waverly had no idea who was calling nor did she pick up the phone. She continued bathing and later came out of the shower wrapped in a bath towel.
The door was opened. Yasmine glared at Waverly and said, "Why aren't you answering the phone? I asked you to go to the second floor. Didn't you hear me? Waverly, I'm telling you, you are not Mrs. President anymore. Don't try to act all mighty with me. You are just as lowly as a dog. No, in my eyes, you are worse than a dog."
