Chapter 1116 She is Everything To Him
Waverly watched as Joseph went into the bathroom to brush his teeth and wash up.
She picked up her phone. There was a signal on it, so she searched for information about the stone.
When she looked it up on the web, she was shocked.
A piece of that metal was worth three hundred tons of gold. A long time ago, it was worth one billion dollars per gram. Although there were synthetic ones at the moment, the natural products were still very expensive.
The stone Joseph had given her was at least 10 grams, which meant it was worth ten billion dollars!
It was way too generous of Joseph to do that.
He came out after taking a shower.
"Is this stone natural or synthetic?" Waverly asked.
"It's natural. I found a uranium mine," said Joseph.
As she was once a member of the Mccarthy family, she knew that uranium was a radioactive element that could produce alpha, beta and gamma rays. It was rarely formed naturally and was mainly used to produce renewable energy.
Since they had found uranium mines, the Mccarthy family's status could no longer be shaken and they would only become stronger, strong enough to support the weight of his ambitions.
"By telling me these things, aren't you afraid that I will tell others about them?" Waverly asked.
"What I told you is nothing more than a scratch on the surface. So what if I tell you? Besides, aren't you in the same boat as me? You said that you want to be my wife in the future. Are you lying to me again?" Joseph asked in a faint voice.
Waverly's eyes paused, "Let me remind you, don't trust me too much. Women are very fickle. Sometimes I can't control myself."
Joseph sneered and said, "Then, you'd better control yourself, or you'll die in a painful way."
He opened the door and went out.
Waverly wanted to take off the necklace. Wearing a necklace worth three thousand tons of gold on her neck made her anxious.
However, she found that the necklace was not the same as an ordinary one. Its clasp could not be unfastened at all. Her head was big, so she couldn't pull it out through her head. She was dumbfounded.
After she brushed her teeth and washed up, she went out, wearing the clothes that Joseph had prepared for the occasion.
He was sitting at the table and looking at his mobile phone.
She went straight to him and sat down beside him. She lowered her voice and said, "Joseph, I like this gift you gave me very much. I will also treasure it all the time. However, if I wear it around my neck especially during summer, it can't be covered up and will be seen by others."
Joseph glanced at her and asked, "So what if other people see it?"
"Even paintings worth ten million dollars are stolen by many extremely vicious people or criminal gangs. The value of this necklace is priceless. I'm scared that there will be thieves who want to steal it," Waverly said.
"Who dares steal my things? Do they want to die? Besides, don't you have the Thunder Gun? I'm developing a new one now. If it works, its power will be ten times that of the Thunder Gun. I'll give it to you when it is fully developed. However, we're not in a hurry to supply it to the market for the time being. Otherwise, the hundreds of Thunder Guns in my possession can't be sold."
Waverly was filled with exasperation.
"I think it's a little heavy. It's not good for my neck to keep on wearing it, isn't it?" Waverly persuaded him.
"Many people wear magnetic chains that they treat the neck. Those chains are much heavier than yours. In fact, it doesn't have much effect on the neck. It's just a placebo effect. However, there are many radioactive elements in californium which can treat diseases, especially cancer, and can improve blood circulation of the human body which will heal and strengthen the body. It suits you a lot. Why would you want to take it off?" Joseph said firmly.
"You, that...When we do that, you might accidentally get hurt, right?" Waverly said while blushing.
Joseph paused for a while, thought it over seriously and then said with certainty, "I don't think so. I'm not that stupid to just do whatever I want."
Waverly was speechless, "It's difficult for me to match my outfits with this stone. Besides, it's a little ugly and other people will ask about it. If I say it's californium, they will think that I'm bragging. If I say it's an ordinary stone, they'll think that I'm crazy."
"You're so annoying." Joseph took the necklace off of Waverly's neck and threw it to Joshua, who was not far away, "Make it beautiful. I want it in a few days."
"Yes," Joshua held the necklace with trembling hands and went out.
Waverly breathed a sigh of relief.
The chef and the assistant chef brought out the dishes. Each of them had a portion and the dishes were all the same.
Susan came out of her room. She was dressed in an eye-catching red dress that barely covered her.
She sat at the opposite side of Joseph and said in low spirits, "When will you leave?"
"I'll leave anytime I want. I can also make you leave instead," said Joseph impolitely.
Susan batted her eyes and then wagged her finger at Joseph.
He was so sharp-tongued. When she was a young girl, why did she worship him like a crazy fan? She felt like she was going to die of anger at any minute.
Joseph didn't care about Susan at all. He ate his meal and took a glance at Waverly.
Waverly was concentrating on eating all of the dishes in front of her.
She was too thin and her physique was getting worse and worse. She was already less than 90 pounds. It was better for her to eat until her weight was 100 pounds and gain some muscles so that she would have a better body.
Susan also glanced at Waverly, "I didn't expect that despite being so thin, you eat quite a lot."
"Even if you don't speak, no one will think that you're a mute," Joseph said rudely.
Susan pursed her lips, shut her mouth and started to eat her meal.
Susan ate quickly. After eating more than half of it, she was full. She said, "Enjoy your meal. I'll go and check out the training grounds."
"Go," Joseph didn't intend to retain her at all.
Susan left.
She went out of the door and saw Joshua. She pulled Joshua aside and asked, "What's the relationship between Joseph and Waverly? What's the matter between them? Do they hate each other or love each other? I'm a little confused."
"Joseph loves her a lot, but you were the one who actually asked her to survive in the wild for three days. No wonder Mr. Mccarthy punished you. Next time, don't provoke her in the future. She's not someone to be messed with. She has the heart of a snake and is secretive. She's extremely evil," Joshua complained.
"Isn't Joseph going to marry Yasmine? What the hell are you all doing?" Susan was bewildered.
"I have never been able to decipher Mr. Mccarthy's thoughts, but his decisions are always right. As his subordinate, we just need to follow his instructions," Joshua said and sighed.
Susan smiled and put her hand on Joshua's shoulder, "After all, I cannot call the shots with him around. When you all leave, I will once again become the boss who rules over this place. You, stay by Joseph's side and do your best, okay?"
"Are you still short of people here? Why don't you talk to Mr. Mccarthy and let me come over to help you?" Joshua asked.
"Don't do that. I have enough people. Why don't you go ask the others? Who knows, maybe they'll take you in," Susan teased.
"I'd rather not. I'd better stay by Mr. Mccarthy's side. After all, he needs a person to stay close to him and serve him at all times," Joshua said helplessly.
"What about Yadriel? Your brother is much more mature than you. If he serves Joseph in your stead, he might do a better job than you."
"Don't mention him," Joshua looked awkward. He frowned and looked at Waverly in the room.
Susan sensed that something was odd and asked, "Did something happen between him and Waverly?"
