Chapter 859 I Am Happy Today, Thank You
He was afraid that she would turn around and kill herself. He could only use Stella to hold her back. Eli was a kind person. He knew that only this way could he keep her alive.
There would be hope for him as long as she was alive.
Eli looked at Sean, confused. "When will I be able to meet Stella then?"
"Soon. Let me make the arrangements. You may call Stella now," Sean said gently.
"Really? I could do that?" Eli asked incredulously. When did her luck get better?
Sean gave Stella a phone call.
Stella was furious, but she still answered Sean's call after calming down.
"Stella, I'll let Eli talk to you. I'll bring her back in a month, I promise," Sean said in a deep voice.
Stella was silent. Her men were already ready. They are just waiting for a chance to make a move if Sean hadn't called.
There were bound to be casualties if they were to start a war.
All her men had parents and family. It would be for the best if they did not engage in a war. "Pass the phone to Eli,"
Sean handed the phone to Eli.
Eli felt as though she was dreaming. She placed the phone beside her ear and said cautiously, "Hello."
Stella felt like crying when she heard Eli's voice. When Eli jumped off the building, she had been told that her death had nothing to do with anyone.
Stella knew that Eli was protecting Sean and her.
Eli had always been righteous and generous. When they were still working as doctors, Eli gave her all her savings and even asked her parents for help when she was short of money. She became Sean's woman in order to save Stella.
All the good things that Eli had done for her were engraved deeply in her heart. Stella's heart ached at the thought of Eli's missing arm. Jasper was so worried about her because she was crying and could not sleep well for several nights.
"Mm," Stella replied, choking with sobs.
Eli smiled and said, "Stella, don't worry. I'm fine."
Sean looked away. Eli was obviously not fine. Her smile was like a death call, and he didn't like it very much. However, he did not want to interrupt them. He walked out of the door. He was afraid that he would be impulsive as he couldn't quite control his temper.
He had always been a shrewd person. He had always had everything under his control. However, he could never retain his composure whenever Eli was around. He almost lost all his rationality as he cared too much about her.
He felt guilty. The only thing he could do now was to love her more.
In the room, Eli was still talking to Stella on the phone with a smile.
"He treats me well, and he also said that he would bring me to see you soon. I even ate a crab today. Crabs nowadays are delicious. I ate one earlier today, but I still felt like eating more."
"Jasper has a buddy who rears crabs. He sends us lots of crabs every year, and we could never finish them. The crabs he rears are particularly delicious. A crab usually weighs about 400-600g," Stella said casually.
"Oh, that's really big. I think the one I had was around 400g. It's already quite big. I must try the big one someday. How did he rear such big crabs?"
"Jasper said that his comrades fed the crabs with fish and shrimp. With sufficient food and no natural threats, the crabs grew well. Why don't you tell me your current address so that I could send the crabs to you? I will send them to you now and you should be able to receive them the next day," Stella suggested.
"It's alright, it'll be a hassle. If the crabs are airsick during the journey, they will not taste as good anymore. I'll eat them when I get back," Eli said happily.
"Okay. I'll be waiting for you then. Jasper and I own the Southern Bay. You will have the villa in Snowie Town when you're back. The villa faces the sea, backed by the mountains, and is surrounded by blooming flowers during spring. We could meet every day and watch our children running around the beach being chased by their fathers. Then, we could enjoy the skewers and seafood on the beach too," Stella said with a smile.
Eli was fascinated by Stella's words. She imagined the whole scene playing in her mind with a light smile as tears started rolling down her cheeks.
The scene was just beautiful, too beautiful, that she could no longer hold back her tears.
She wiped off her tears, putting the phone aside, and took a few deep breaths. After catching her breath, she said to Stella again, "It's strange. We haven't seen each other for many years, but it feels as though we were never apart."
"Our friendship has long been carved deep in our bones. I am looking forward to your return. Anyhow, do you still remember that I once had a dog named Gracie?" Stella said.
"I remember. I also bought a dog named Hulk. Too bad I did not bring Hulk with me when I left the President's Mansion. I don't know how it is doing now," Eli said sadly.
"Gracie gave birth to lots of puppies. If you like them, you could bring them back with you."
"That's a great idea. Are you and Jasper planning to have another child?" Eli asked. She had too much to say to Stella.
"Well, we have things to attend to in Southern Bay back then. So, we didn't really have the time to plan for a child. But now, I am pregnant for three months."
"Really? That's great! Is it a boy or a girl?" Eli asked, clearly delighted.
"I haven't done a checkup yet. It doesn't really matter whether it's a boy or a girl. But, I do hope that it's a girl as I already have two sons."
"Are all your children by your side?" Eli asked with slight concern.
"Not all. Dante is with his adoptive parents now. We actually brought him back last time, but we could not take care of him well due to the busy schedule on Southern Bay's projects. Dante felt a little depressed because of that. Furthermore, I am pregnant again now. With so many things piling up, I don't have the energy to take care of him. I will bring his adoptive parents and him back to live with us soon," Stella voiced out her concerns.
"I believe that things would improve if you can handle it well. In the future..." Eli paused.
She still felt uncertain, so she couldn't ask any further.
"Stella, I'm hungry. I'll hang up first, alright?" Eli said softly.
"Okay, what's your phone number? I'll call you straight next time. Let's keep in contact often."
Eli shared the same sentiments. Unfortunately, she did not have a phone, and it was not a fact that she wanted Stella to know. She did not want her to be sad. "I'll call you later, I'll hang up for now?"
She hung up the phone in a hurry and slumped back on the sofa.
She missed her son very much. Despite that, she could not visit him. She was afraid that she would be reluctant to leave after seeing him. She would be more heartbroken than ever...
