Chapter 874 Hey, That Kid
Eli calmed herself down and made up her mind. She then asked Sean, "Could we see each other once a year?"
"Of course, once I settle everything, we can be together every day. Everything seems to be going well at the moment," Sean said in relief.
"You must stay alive then," Eli said.
One month would be enough. Maple's husband could not even be with her for longer than a month.
She took a step forward and hugged Sean. She rested her head on his shoulder and said, "Today, someone tried to set me up with a guy, and I told her that I'm married. We are husband and wife, aren't we?"
"We are officially husband and wife. I have signed all my properties in your name and I even had a lawyer notarise them. All the documents are legally binding," Sean assured her.
She knew that Sean was wealthy. She, too, had money in her own name. However, she did not feel that having all that money meant anything. "I'll wait for you."
Sean seemed much more at ease. "Come on, let's go."
Truth be told, Eli's road to recovery had been extremely positive. She had plenty of time and no one was pressuring her.
When she was free, she would try to practice using her fingers. There were slight improvements, and this, in turn, would improve her mood.
She could now use cutlery with ease.
Sean flashed a smile of relief.
Eli paused, "You've yet to tell me when you'll be leaving."
"I have already made the necessary arrangements for work, and others could be done online, I'm planning to stay with you until the end of the year."
A flurry of emotions filled her heart. She felt warm and touched, but at the same time, she felt overwhelmed and sad.
"What about our son? Will he back for the New Year?" Eli missed her child very much.
"I am keeping him safe for the moment. The risks will be too great if he comes back here. If his whereabouts are exposed, it would be difficult for me to keep him away again. Just wait a little longer, alright?"
Eli's eyes dimmed slightly as she continued eating.
Sean went to the room to work out after that, whereas Eli felt sleepy after having her meal. She stayed on the sofa to watch television, playing with the recovery beads in her hand.
Sean emerged from the room an hour and a half after, having taken a bath and washed his hair, and sat down next to Eli.
Eli could smell the refreshing scent, and she turned to look at Sean.
Time did not seem to leave a trace on this man's face. The older he became, the more mature and elegant he seemed to be. Women would easily fall for his charm.
It was said that men aged like wine. The older the man was, the better he would be. There seemed to be some truth in that.
"Sean, how did you spend your day over the past five years? In terms of your sexual needs, I mean. Didn't you say that you have never touched your girlfriend?" Eli asked in curiosity.
"When I was imprisoned for those two years, I tried to read more every day to become smarter and more cautious. I think I ended up reading more than 500 books, almost a book or two a day, and I would read till late every day until I fell asleep. I have never really thought about sex."
"What about after you were released? To be honest, the way things are right now is pretty similar to when you were still President. When D Country was under your leadership, it was stronger and more prosperous. Also, there was X Country."
"I became much busier after I was released. All I thought about was coming back to you, and I didn't have time to think about other women."
Lying on the sofa, Eli looked at him. "You're really quite something. In the mere span of 3 years, you have become a tycoon of these 2 countries."
"I have had X Country in my hands a long time ago, but it was inconvenient for me to reveal myself at first. During the two years when I was imprisoned, I gave all my money to my team of investors. They helped me expand my territory. I also sent my people to hide away in D Country. For a long time, many of my people held a lot of important positions in D Country. The only thing I had to do was to continue to expand my territory and support my people in order to gain power," Sean explained.
"That is pretty amazing. When I was younger, I thought that you were very ordinary but arrogant. You still liked to bully me, which I thought was very annoying. I don't think that I have met anyone quite as annoying as you are. Later on, you became the President's son after your father got promoted. I would occasionally see the President on television, and I would think that his kids would be lucky to have the President as their father. However, the citizens were unlucky to have you as the President's son."
Sean chuckled lightly, his eyes filled with tenderness and kindness. "In all those years that you hated me, I knew quite clearly that I liked you."
"Don't interrupt. I'll forget what I wanted to say," Eli stopped him.
"Alright," Sean replied.
Eli smiled and continued, "I thought it was rather outrageous when you became President after that..."
Eli cleared her throat and continued, "You made me your kept woman. I thought that you were an awful person until I came back this time. Now, you have subverted my perceptions of you. You are truly amazing. Now, I think that you are the most incredible person I have ever known."
"No matter how amazing I am, my fate still lies in your hands," said Sean as he turned to her and let her lay in his arms.
Eli snorted at the statement. However, she realized that she was lucky. Sean had unexpectedly fallen in love with her.
"Sean, whenever I am alone, I will feel lonely and think of you. Why don't we have another child? If I have our child for company, it will not matter even if I have to wait for another 10 years to see you. You don't have to take the risks because of me. As long as there is hope, I will still have a heart that yearns for you. I will live on, and even if there is no hope, there will still be a child," Eli said seriously.
Sean felt extremely touched.
Once a person reached a certain age, they would no longer desire shallow pleasures. Instead, they yearn for a loyal and real companion to stay with them through thick and thin. Fortunately for him, he had found one.
He held her face and kissed her lips. Under the lights, their shadows were entwined on the sofa.
"Let's go... go back to the room." Confused, Eli still maintained a sense of reasoning. After all, several of Sean's people were still hiding in unknown corners.
Sean picked her up and went to the room on the first floor.
Their bodies were already burning with passion as soon as they entered the room. The love and lust they had for each other were instantly ignited.
Sean was a beast in bed. Eli thought that she would not be able to get through with it, but the truth was...
She squirmed.
"It's like that if it's been a while," Sean said.
"I didn't say anything," Eli said softly.
Sean smiled and continued to kiss her.
The night was long, and their love was deep. They even had their dinner in the room.
Eli still had to attend class in the morning. It was one of the last ones before the holidays.
Sean did not want her to get up. He held her in his arms, refusing to let her go.
It was already cold in winter and Eli did not want to leave her warm quilt. Especially now with Sean holding her, his body was exuding warmth. She was even more reluctant to get up from bed, so she stayed there, under the quilt.
