Chapter 1039 Could It Be…
"Madam, shall we go back now?" Hayley asked in confusion.
Waverly glanced at the night sky before the corner of her lips pulled up. Her gaze glazed over coldly, "If I go back now, then the evidence we left after purposely coming to the airport would be in vain."
"Does this mean we won't be going back?" Hayley was confused.
"Find someone and offer to buy his mobile phone and phone number at a high price," Waverly said.
"Okay." Although Hayley did not know why, she was very obedient and immediately did it. Five minutes later, she came over with a mobile phone and handed it to Waverly.
Waverly made a phone call.
"Who is this?" Bobe asked.
"Bobe, this is Waverly. I need your help," she said.
"Didn't you go to the palace and get Ronaldo's approval? I heard that you can go back to A Country now. Congratulations!" He said with a smile but there was a hint of laziness in his voice.
"Some incidents happened and I can't go back for the time being. Long story short, I am now in the airport, preparing to go back to the Ministry of External Affairs. I will call you later. Please remember to trace the signal of this phone. I need you to fake a car accident and make me disappear smoothly. In addition, remember to ensure the safety of the driver," Waverly said.
"I understand," he said without hesitation.
Waverly hung up and looked back at Hayley. She ordered, "Hayley, listen. Later, during the car accident, you will be my witness. You'll say that when you were losing consciousness, you saw a few men in black taking me away."
"Madam, I can't. I can't lie, and it's very easy for others to see through my lies. Please let me follow you," she pleaded.
"You are not one of Bobe's men. If they take you and me away, they will know your identity," Waverly warned.
"No, I am Bobe's subordinate. At that time, the President sent five of us over and I was chosen by Bobe to be by your side," Hayley responded.
So that was it. Waverly understood, "Then follow me. When we get in the taxi later, there are some things you need to say."
"Okay." Hayley nodded, listening to her instructions.
After a while, they got in a taxi. Waverly then showed the address to the driver.
Hayley complained, "Yasmine has really gone overboard this time. She deliberately asked someone to tell us a fake address. Did she intend to deliberately prevent you from getting on the plane?"
Waverly was silent.
"Thinking about it really makes this infuriating. She told us to go all the way there for nothing. Moreover, it was clear that the king wanted you to go for the negotiation and Madam Lenny said that she was your assistant. However, she was still so arrogant. Madam, did she deliberately tell you to go to the wrong place so that she could go to A Country to negotiate on her own?" Hayley continued.
"Don't talk nonsense. Didn't she say that she would wait for us? After all, she is the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of External Affairs. I am just an assistant. She was also the head of the reception before. It is normal for her to go for the negotiation. There's no need for so much speculation. We are still going anyway," Waverly said and looked out of the window.
After driving for half an hour, a car suddenly approached them from the opposite lane at a high speed.
The driver, in shock, hurriedly swayed the car to the side to avoid the frontal impact, but the back of the car was hit.
Waverly was knocked into the seat in front of her due to the inertia.
With a fast reflex, the taxi driver stepped on the car brakes. However, before he could recover from the situation, the car window was smashed. Several masked men opened the door and covered Hayley's nose and mouth till she was unconscious and did the same with Waverly. They looked over at the driver and did the same until the taxi driver was unconscious.
The men left with Waverly and Hayley, leaving the driver in the car.
After an uncertain amount of time, Waverly's eyes fluttered open and she saw a familiar face. He was the same person whom Bobe had sent when she went to Z Country.
Waverly smiled as she sat up, "I didn't expect you to still be on Bobe's side."
"The money you gave me was enough to support my family, but I like what I'm doing now. Bobe said that I could either leave or stay. I chose to stay," Ethan responded.
"Doing what you like to do and want to do, it can be regarded as a good life." Waverly looked around, "Where is Hayley?"
"You can rest assured, Madam. Hayley is in the room next door. She woke up earlier than you. This house has enough food and necessities for seven days, but if you need anything, you can just give me a call," Ethan said.
"Has Yasmine's plane left?" Waverly asked.
"Yes. She waited until ten o'clock."
"She is not stupid. From 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., it was an ample amount of time for me to arrive at her place from the airport. She left enough time for me. If I didn't make it, it would be on me," Waverly analyzed.
"Madam, don't you want to go back to A Country? About A Country's president, do you still..." Ethan paused and did not go on, but his eyes had conveyed everything.
"Yes, I do want to go back, but if I go back with Yasmine this time, all the credit will be going to her. However, if there was a mistake, it would be my fault. There would be no benefits for me at all. I have already been waiting for so long, so there is no hurry. There's no need for me to sacrifice myself for the success of others," Waverly said sensibly.
"Finding calm in chaos. Madam, I admire your courage and resourcefulness. If you need my help for anything at all next time, please feel free to give me your orders." Ethan cupped his fists and nodded respectfully.
"Thank you. Before you leave, please set the scene as if it's a kidnapping. Take away all the food. Only a few bottles of water will do," Waverly said.
"Scene of a kidnapping?"
"They are not stupid. From the condition of my body, they can tell what has happened to me in the past few days. Places that should be tied up should still be tied up," she instructed.
"How about this, I'll make a secret room and put you and Hayley in it. I'll put ten pieces of bread, a box of biscuits, a box of milk and a box of water in the room. Then, I'll come over in a week. In the meantime, if you manage to find a way to run away, you can just do so," he said.
Waverly thought for a moment, "That'll do too."
Ethan intrustructed his men to make the place into a secret room, leaving only the top part uncovered for some light to shine in.
There was a bed, a table and two quilts in the room. They fixed Waverly and Hayley's waists with iron chains and nailed them to the wall.
"Will this do?" Ethan asked.
Waverly nodded, "The walls here are penetrable. Hayley will be able to find a way out within a week."
"I'll come back in a week then," Ethan reminded her.
Waverly nodded and watched them leave.
"Madam, what should we do now?" Hayley asked in confusion.
"Let's sleep first. After waking up tomorrow morning, let's just act as if we are really imprisoned and find a way out," she ordered.
"Alright."
The next morning, Hayley woke up and smashed the table into pieces. She used wooden planks to chisel the wall, kicked it and pulled on the iron chains. It was a very barbaric scene.
Waverly was worried that the wall would break sooner than expected at this degree. She said, "It's still better if we stay here for five to six days, so take it slow."
"Oh okay, then I'll dig a hole first. This way, we won't hurt ourselves when we knock down the wall after we get out.
Waverly nodded.
Two days had passed. On the third day, Waverly heard several car engine sounds coming from outside. Immediately, she was on high alert.
It didn't seem to be Bobe's people.
"Bump!" A loud sound was heard.
