Chapter 1109 I'm Glad I Don't Like You Anymore
"Start the car," Joseph ordered.
"Leave her a bottle of water and a knife. It's too dangerous here," Boris said quickly.
Joseph threw a pistol to her, looked straight at her arrogantly and said, "If you fire three shots at the sky, I'll come to pick you up."
Boris was shocked. Did he just give her a gun?
It meant that he didn't want anything to happen to Waverly.
He quickly threw two bottles of water to Waverly, as well as a dagger and a lighter that he always carried with him, "There may be wild beasts at night, so remember to light a fire. If you can, sleep on trees. You will be here for only three days. After three days, you can come back."
Waverly nodded.
Joseph frowned and looked at her.
Why wasn't she begging for mercy?
"I thought you would know better, but you're still as foolish as ever," he said coldly.
"In front of you, who is smart?" Waverly retorted.
"You brought this upon yourself," Joseph said.
The door closed in front of Waverly.
She watched them leave.
Yadriel had said that Joseph liked her.
Joshua had said that Joseph liked her.
Even Boris had said that Joseph liked her.
Could this really be called him liking her?
If that was the case, his affection towards her would be the same as an owner's love for their pigs. When they think you are cute, they will hug you and feed you some food. However, once they grow up, they will slaughter you and eat you.
She didn't have much time to waste. In such a large forest, there might really be wild beasts.
She picked up the gun, dagger, lighter and water bottles on the ground. Then, she walked into the woods.
A lot of places in the forest were equipped with security cameras.
She also heard the sound of a drone taking photos. Was there really a need for such constant monitoring?
If she had encountered a wild beast, it would take at least half an hour for Joseph to send his men to kill it. However, if the wild beast wanted to tear her apart, it would only take a few minutes. Even if they want to collect her corpse, they would only be able to collect lumps of sh*t.
Her rebellious state had awakened!
Maybe she just wanted to get rid of the fate of being bound by Joseph, so she cut off all the wires along her way.
Moving to another villa, Joseph went directly into the monitoring room and asked Joshua, "How is she?"
"She cut off all the wires along the way," Joshua reported.
Joseph looked at Waverly on the screen and asked, "What about the drones? How many drones are following her?"
"There's only one at the moment."
"Send out 4 more drones. Also, find someone to follow her. Keep a distance of 100 meters away from her, but don't let her discover us," Joseph ordered.
"Yes, Mr. Mccarthy," Joshua answered. Looking at the screen, Waverly stopped and looked at the sky, "She must have seen our drone. Would you like the drone to descend and retreat first?"
Joseph stared at the screen and frowned. A wave of panic flashed in his eyes, "Idiot!"
As soon as he finished speaking, Joshua saw Waverly raise her gun and shoot the drone.
The screen went blank and the footage of Waverly disappeared.
Joseph gritted his teeth, "Keep a close eye on all the monitors and make sure that her location is confirmed. Now, calculate and estimate where she is. Send ten people out and inform me as soon as you find her."
"Mr. Mccarthy," Joshua wanted to speak but paused, "If she finds out that she's being closely protected, she'll have nothing to fear. Then, there will be no point to this punishment in the first place."
"What are you trying to say?" asked Joseph as he looked at him with a sharp gaze.
"What I mean is that she is an incredibly cunning person. If she finds out that she's definitely safe, she won't compromise. This punishment will then lose its meaning and she won't be afraid. We have to scare her. That way, she won't dare to disobey you in the future," Joshua said, risking his life to tell him all that.
"Who said I was going to punish her?" he retorted. After all, he had just been unhappy. He shouted, "If something happens to her, you are all going to die with her! Shut up and obey my orders!"
"Yes, Mr. Mccarthy," Joshua lowered his head and immediately did as he was ordered.
After coming out of the monitoring room, Susan called in a gentle voice, "Come and eat. Only when you are full will you have the strength to accomplish anything else."
"I don't have an appetite," Joseph knitted his brows. His eyes seemed to be covered with a thin mist as he tried his best to conceal his emotions, "I asked you to punish her. You can do it in a simple way. She's not a soldier and doesn't even know how to kill a chicken. Why did you tell her to stay in the wild?"
"What's wrong? I just saw that you hate her, so I let you vent your anger on her," Susan said in confusion.
"I know how to vent my anger. I don't need you to help me," said Joseph irritably. He sat down and took a sip of the brewed tea.
As soon as he took a sip, he spat it back into the cup, "What did you brew? It's awful. Go make it again."
Susan picked up his cup and said lightly, "If you're in a bad mood, come and vent your anger on me. If you're angry, go and find the person who made you angry. You scolding me is not enough to vent your anger."
"Since you like to run your mouth so much, why don't you go outside and experience that kind of training for three days as well?" Joseph ordered.
Susan paused for a moment, "Are you really telling me to go?"
Joseph glanced at her and said, "When have I ever joked around with you?"
"You...Are you for real?" Susan was not calm anymore.
"In three seconds, disappear from my sight," Joseph said firmly.
"I'm glad that you rejected my feelings a few years ago, so that I don't like you anymore. Otherwise, I'd die of grief," With those words, Susan left.
Joseph waited for an hour and went back to the monitoring room, "Have you found her?"
Joshua looked scared, "Not yet. She didn't pass through the surveillance area, which proves that the area she is moving in is still within the few previous roads. The drones have been circling that area for an hour and each place has been searched several times, but we still can't find her."
"Where are the people we sent out? Did they find her? They should have found traces of her," Joseph asked.
"They haven't reported anything back to me yet. I don't think they've found her."
"It's just a small place!" With anger in his face, he looked at the time on his watch, walked out of the door and looked at the mountains.
Other than her first shot at the drone, there had been no second gunshot so far.
Could it be that she had found a place to hide or that she had met with an accident?
The more he thought about it, the more uneasy he felt. He went into the monitoring room and ordered Joshua, "I'll take five people out. She should have her mobile phone with her, so check for her signal. Call me as soon as you find her."
"Mr. Mccarthy, she has only been there for less than two hours. If you go find her now...Didn't you say to leave her for three days?" Joshua reminded him.
"I know what to do," Joseph said in a deep voice.
He got into the car with his people, went to the place where Waverly had gotten out of the car and entered the woods.
There were a lot of messy footprints on the ground.
He remembered that Waverly was wearing high heels, but there was no trace of them on the ground.
Night had fallen.
After the security cameras were broken, they searched the whole area, but still could not find traces of Waverly.
"Mr. Mccarthy, could it be that she was eaten by a wild beast?" one of his subordinates asked.
Joseph's eyes narrowed sharply as he stared at the man. He said in a stern voice, "What did you just say?"
