Chapter 1118 Rather Than Worrying About Me, You Better Worry About Yourself
There was no change in Waverly's expression, "Even if we had arranged to meet beforehand, I would do so after you left. I won't make an appointment with him when you are here with me."
Joseph's eyes narrowed, "What did you just say?"
"I'm telling the truth. Isn't it stupid for me to arrange a meeting with him when you are here? Or do you think that because I've lived too comfortably these few days that I'm looking for reasons to be abused?" Waverly smiled and sat opposite him. Her eyes were clear, "Do you think there is any need for me to see him now?"
Joseph squinted his eyes and looked at her suspiciously, "You don't love him anymore?"
"He never reciprocated my love. In the first place, there weren't many feelings in our relationship. Even if there was a bit of love left, after his countless betrayals and neglect, it was reduced to nothing," Waverly said with no expression on her face.
Joseph sized up Waverly.
Waverly was looking at him calmly, the corners of her mouth raised slightly. Her smile was slightly mocking, provocative, arrogant and confident, exuding a seductive aura.
The corners of Joseph's mouth curled up as he said, "He's coming to Mexiland to look for you. Will you meet him?"
Waverly went into deep contemplation.
Joseph raised his eyebrows and asked, "Are you hesitating?"
"I think I will. I avoided him because I felt bad, but I don't want to run away anymore. I want to face him. I'll still have to meet him later in life," Waverly said.
"What if I don't let you go?" Joseph asked with his eyes drooped.
Waverly laughed, "Then, I won't. Your future is my business but his future has nothing to do with me anymore. Of course, I will listen to you."
Joseph listened and looked a little gleeful. He raised the corners of his mouth and his eyes were bright as if they were filled with stars, "I will give you another gift before I leave."
"What is it? Californium?" Waverly frowned.
"That stone has been brought to be processed. It'd be a waste to carve it. You know how expensive that stone is. When it's done, I'll give it to you." Joseph handed Waverly a USB flash drive, "This is evidence of Thomas' affair. If you don't come to an agreement or if your people fail, this thing can play a key role."
Waverly took the USB flash drive from Joseph's hand, "I have another question. How much silver do you plan to import in a year?"
"You're only asking me this question now? If I didn't come to you, are you planning to never mention it?" asked Joseph while locking his gaze on her.
She had originally thought that she could open a silver jewelry company with her current wealth, but it would be quite hard. After all, she didn't understand business and there would be problems in all aspects. She wasn't Joseph, who had a lot of connections and knew everyone and everything.
"I'm going to meet Thomas tomorrow. It wouldn't be too late to ask you tomorrow. You won't possibly not tell me, right?" Waverly changed her words.
Hearing her words, Joseph was quite satisfied. He looked at the time on the watch and said, "He's here."
Just as he finished speaking, Waverly's cell phone rang.
She took out her phone. Bellamy had sent a video call invitation.
Once upon a time, upon seeing his invitation, she would be filled with warmth, happiness, satisfaction and even cry tears of joy.
At the moment, she felt that time had flown by too fast. It was as if she had become a completely different person.
She rejected the video call.
"Is it Bellamy?" Joseph asked.
Waverly had no idea when he had come to stand next to her. He snatched her cell phone away. His eyes became darker and the corners of his mouth curled up, "He should know that you're here."
Waverly looked at Joseph calmly, "My relationship with him is over. Even if he knows, so what? Even if we meet, what can we do? Can he and I go back to before? We can't go back anymore."
Joseph threw her mobile phone on the sofa and held her tightly. It was as if he was thinking about it, confirming his theory and making his final judgment. He said, "If I clear your name, do you think the two of you can still go back to the way you two used to be?"
"I would rather have a marriage full of love. If there is no love, then I will live alone, just like how although I used to like Lenold, I still lived a good life after his death. The world is enormous. I want to travel and see everything," Waverly said lightly.
Joseph lifted her chin and bent down, "After I return this time, I will prove your innocence. You'd better remember what you are saying now. Also, tell Bellamy all that. I don't like him pestering you. It's so annoying."
As Joseph finished talking, Waverly's cell phone rang again. It was another video call from Bellamy.
Joseph grabbed the phone and handed it to her, "Answer it."
His tone was commanding.
The corners of Waverly's mouth twitched as she took her cell phone over and answered the call.
Joseph sat opposite her.
On the screen, Bellamy's face was pale and even his lips were white, "Waverly, I'm worried about you."
"Rather than worrying about me, you better worry about yourself. No one's body is made of metal," Waverly said coldly.
Pain flashed across Bellamy's eyes.
At the moment, Waverly was even colder and more emotionless than she had been when he saw her five years ago.
Five years ago, due to the fact that she had been hurt by Lenold, by the Mccarthy family, by her parents and by her friends' deaths, her heart had been completely devoid of hope.
This time, she was acting so because of him.
He had not expected such a big consequence to happen. If he had known, he would have dealt with Yasmine long ago instead of scheming for the bigger picture.
"It was my fault this time. I didn't consider your feelings. Now that you are like this, I'm very sad," Bellamy said.
Waverly looked at Bellamy on the screen with no expression, but her heart was filled with sadness.
She disliked her soft-heartedness.
Being soft-hearted caused ripples in one's life.
In the past, Waverly had been too soft-hearted.
Her tone became sharp, "I think my life is good now. What is there for you to be sad about?"
"I hope that you can return to me and stop being angry with me. When you are angry with me, how can I not be sad? Where are you now? I'll come over," Bellamy said.
"I'm not angry with you. It's just a small matter. It's not wrong that you considered the overall situation and prioritized the bigger picture. Why should I be angry? It's just that our personal views of life, values and choices are different. As for going back to your side, how many divorced couples that get back together have you witnessed?" Waverly said sarcastically.
Bellamy looked at Waverly sadly, "As long as you are willing, I will have a way."
"I'm not willing." Waverly immediately interrupted him and said coldly, "These days, I have been thinking about my past life. I find that those days with you were rather boring. I don't want to go back to living that kind of life."
"I will change. Whatever kind of life you want, I will create it for you."
"Your words are lovely to the ear, but look at what you've done for me! You have taught me a lot in the past and I am eternally grateful to you for that. Due to that gratitude, I don't want to blame you for becoming detestable in my eyes now. However, you have hurt me. I want to change and live a new life. In the future, don't bother me anymore. Even my death will have nothing to do with you. What else do you want to say? After you say it all, I will block you as we don't need to be in contact anymore," Waverly said decisively.
