Chapter 994 Did You Know That My Love For You Comes From Within

"It's not about me wanting it or not. If I disobeyed the king's orders, what would he think of me? He would think that I do not know how to appreciate favors and that I think too highly of myself. The people from the Department of External Affairs will also ostracize me. How am I supposed to go on then?" Waverly argued.
"So what? How long do you think Ronaldo can keep his throne for? As for the Department of External Affairs, when you become my queen, you can do whatever you want to them. You don't have to care about them," Joseph reasoned firmly.
Arrogant, egoistic, insufferably vain, and full of oneself.
Joseph was utterly different from Bellamy.
She admired Bellamy's calmness, reservedness, and profoundness more than anything else.
However, Waverly's retort was as useless as a glass hammer.
To Joseph, she was just as powerless as an ant, unable to ever fight back and escape. There would only be a glimmer of hope for her if she obeyed him.
"Joseph, your fiance is always out to get me. If I am late or absent today, it will be difficult for me to secure a position in the Department of External Affairs in the future. I know I can command the world if I become your queen. However, I can't be your queen now since you are still not willing to marry me," Waverly said softly.
Joseph's face tensed as he stared at her.
It was early in the day, but she was already talking to him so gently. It was rare for her to speak to him in such a soft manner.
Although his face did not show any reaction, his heart softened. "Enjoy yourself. After we're done, I'll let you go to work, and I'll make sure you won't be late."
Waverly breathed out a sigh of relief.
When Joseph said that he would keep her captive, he was not joking.
Waverly didn't dare resist him. Finally, things calmed down after ten minutes.
She had a bad headache, so she closed her eyes and rested.
Even though he didn't sleep for the whole night, he was still full of energy and went on to take another shower.
Waverly did not dare fall asleep. She was afraid that she would be tardy to work. Her work plate was full that day, and Bellamy would be arriving the next day.
Waverly opened her eyes and got out of bed. Her whole body felt like it had fallen apart, and she had no strength at all. She wanted to shower, but Joseph was still using the bathroom, so she didn't want to go in and see him. She wrapped herself up in the bedsheets and stood by the window. She saw a red Cayenne driving in.
It didn't look like Joseph's car, nor did it look like a car driven by Joseph's subordinates. The vehicle was too feminine.
A bad feeling arose in Waverly's stomach. She knocked on the bathroom door and alerted him, "Joseph, I think someone is here. It looks like a woman."
Joseph opened the door and looked at her. "I have invited Yasmine over to have breakfast."
Waverly was speechless.
"Then why did you bring me here? Aren't you afraid that she will see me?" Waverly exclaimed.
The corners of Joseph's mouth curled up. "Are you dumb? The only way for her to not see you is if she's over here at my place. When I head out later, my people will send breakfast to the room. After you are done, someone will drive you out. I promise you will arrive ahead of her. Or would you prefer I make her late, so you can taunt her about it?"
Waverly raised her eyebrows.
She knew what he meant by 'make her late'. She asked, "We just did it. Are you sure your body can handle it?"
Joseph chuckled. "Why not we try that out now and see if my body can handle it or not?"
Waverly was afraid of him, so she took a step back subconsciously. "She's already here. You'd better hurry out and meet her."
Joseph raised his eyebrows and reminded her, "Don't go out at night. Stay in the small courtyard by the lake. Do you understand?"
Waverly didn't know what he was secretly hinting at. Whether she stayed in the courtyard or not, it was up to her.
Nevertheless, since she was at his place, she had to agree. She nodded her head.
Joseph laughed lightly and turned his face away in satisfaction. It was as if he could read all her thoughts.
He walked out of the room.
Waverly looked at the time, and it was only ten past six in the morning. She walked tiredly to the bathroom and took a bath.
Someone knocked on the door.
She asked, her guards instantly raised, "Who is it?"
"Madam, Mr. Mccarthy asked that I deliver breakfast to you. It's placed on the table," Joseph's servant answered.
"Okay." Waverly got out of the bathtub, put on her clothes, and went out.
A maid was standing in the room with a rich breakfast spread on the table.
She took a few bites and didn't feel like eating anymore. "I'm full. You may send me off now."
"Mr. Mccarthy instructed that you have to eat at least half of the food before you can leave," the maid informed with her head lowered.
Waverly had a sudden impulse to explode in anger.
Joseph even had to control how much she ate.
There was a flash of cunningness in her eyes. If Yasmine knew that Waverly had slept here the night before, she wondered how Yasmine would react. Would she believe that Waverly had sex with Joseph?
"I'll go look for him then." She walked quickly to the door and opened it.
Yadriel stood at the door, his face devoid of expression. "Madam, I advise you to eat your breakfast peacefully, and I'll send you off. As for everything else, it's best not to think about it. Otherwise, Mr. Mccarthy will be angry, and it will be difficult for you to leave today."
Waverly dropped her shoulders in disappointment.
Joseph was so meticulous that he didn't even leave her with a single shred of hope.
"I can't eat anymore. I don't eat much in the first place, and I didn't have an appetite in the morning either," Waverly argued.
"Mr. Mccarthy complained that you're too thin, and it doesn't feel that great to touch you. He wants you to gain five pounds in a month." Yadriel uttered without any expression on his face.
Waverly was dumbfounded.
If that was the case, she might as well die of losing weight.
"Of course, you can choose not to eat, but if you don't eat at least half of the food, you will not be able to leave. If you are late, you can't blame anyone else," Yadriel reminded.
Waverly didn't know what to do. She peeped into the corridor, but she didn't see Yasmine. She could only go back to her room and eat her food in a mess, with Yadriel watching her.
"Please follow me," Yadriel directed as he walked forward.
Waverly looked around and questioned curiously, "Isn't Joseph afraid that Yasmine will suddenly pop up out of nowhere and see me?"
"Miss Filthy isn't in this building. If we leave through the basement, we won't run into her," Yadriel explained.
Waverly was disappointed.
Sure enough, how could Joseph let Yasmine see her?
When she arrived at the basement, she saw that Joseph had bought her another car.
Yadriel got in the car and informed Waverly, "Mr. Mccarthy said that the other car was sent to the customer service shop. It's estimated that it will be ready in 2 months as a lot of the parts are imported. You may drive this car first as permitted by him, and do drive carefully. Otherwise, if he is not happy, he will also send it to the shop."
Waverly couldn't help but roll her eyes at all the instructions.
He was the one who bought the car, so she didn't feel bad at all.
"He has a lot of money. Even if he simply knocked someone down and killed them, he has his way of solving it," Waverly sneered.
"You are wrong about that. You know that Mr. Mccarthy likes you, but you still refuse to let go of your ex-husband," Yadriel commented indifferently.
"Likes me? Ha." Waverly found that to be very funny.
Apart from himself, it was impossible for him to love anyone else!
