Chapter 1129 When The Cat's Away, The Mice Will Play. Goodbye.

Agnes smiled, "Okay."
"Go rest," Waverly said and slowly closed the door. She stood by the window and looked at the traffic downstairs.
Truth be told, she was quite far away and the road was so dark that she couldn't see much with her naked eyes. At most, she could feel the cars rushing by with their bright lights switched on.
She wondered where the people in the cars were rushing to. Were they going home or going out to have fun? Did they have desires in their hearts or were they lost in pretense and living like a walking corpse, interacting with people every day?
At the moment, she had no other choice but to march forward bravely. She didn't want to go back.
She picked up her phone and blocked Bellamy's phone number with a cold and emotionless gaze.
It was as if a huge weight had been lifted from her heart and she felt much more relaxed.
She threw her phone on the bed and went to the bathroom to take a bath.
After bathing, she laid on the bed and slowly closed her eyes.
That night, she kept waking up and falling back to sleep over and over again, so she failed to have a good night's sleep.
Early in the morning, she felt a strange wetness and her stomach was also in pain. She had her period.
She opened the door and saw Agnes standing guard outside.
"Agnes, I'm having my period. Can you buy some pads for me?" Waverly asked.
"Of course, I'll go now."
"Wait a minute." Waverly gave her some money, "Sorry to trouble you."
"No problem. This is what I should do," Agnes went to the business center to buy some sanitary pads.
Waverly returned to her room and looked at the time. It was not yet six o'clock. It should be midnight back at M Country. A cunning look flashed across her eyes.
She picked up her phone and called Joseph.
Five rings later, he picked up. His hoarse voice indicated that he had just woken up, "If you don't have anything important to say, do you know what are the consequences of calling me in the middle of the night?"
"Aunt Flo has paid me a visit," Waverly said.
"Aunt Flo? Are you talking about Melinda's aunt? Are you in touch with her?" Joseph asked suspiciously. He sat up from the bed and frowned.
"No one has come to visit me. I just meant that my period has come," Waverly said.
Joseph paused for a moment and said, "Your period cycle is abnormal. I've already told the doctor that you should recuperate after you come back. It's a good thing that your period is here. Do you have any other symptoms besides a stomachache?"
"My stomach hurts. I miss you," Waverly said with no expression.
Joseph was silent as emotions flashed across his eyes. He leaned against the bed and the expression on his face softened, "When are you coming back?"
"Tomorrow. I don't like to take the plane because I have to sit for a long time. Not only will my ears hurt, but my legs will also be swollen," Waverly sighed.
"You can also return by sea. However, it would take about two more days. Do you get seasick?" Joseph asked.
"I have travelled by sea before, so I don't think I'll get seasick. I didn't feel sick when I rode on the boat either."
"I'll ask someone to arrange for you to travel by sea tomorrow. You can come back by boat," Joseph said.
"Okay. I want you to pick me up when I come back," Waverly said.
Joseph's mouth curved into a smile and his eyes were shining with starlight, "What the hell are you up to again?"
Waverly leaned on the sofa and her eyes became colder, "If you don't dare to come, forget it."
"Ha." Joseph sneered, "Have you been feeling rather mischievous lately? Do you think this is fun?"
"I just asked you to pick me up. Do you think I'm playing around? Or do you think that I was just playing around when I asked you to marry me?" Waverly asked in a strange tone.
"I'll let you fool around. However, if you play with fire, do you dare to get burned?"
"I was threatened by you since I was young. Do you think I don't have the courage to do that?" Waverly retorted.
"It doesn't matter whether you have the courage or not. Since you have already taken the initiative to provoke me, I will not give you the chance to take your words back," Joseph said firmly.
"Bellamy originally wanted me to leave with him, but he suddenly regretted his decision. What did you do to make Bellamy suddenly regret it?" Waverly asked calmly.
"I won't let anything unexpected happen. I like to control everything in my grasp. You should be very clear about my personality. As for why he regretted it, that only proves Bellamy's incompetence," Joseph said arrogantly.
"To open a shop is easy, but to keep it open is an art. When you become the ruler of a country, you will understand this truth. Whether you're capable or incapable, we'll only know the answer at the very end. Do you think Sean is capable or incompetent?" Waverly asked.
Joseph's eyes became cold, "You called me in the middle of the night just to prove to me that Bellamy is not incompetent?"
"You should be open-minded and accept the opinions and criticisms from other people. If you don't want to listen to me, I won't say it. I'll hang up now because my stomach hurts. I don't have the strength to speak anymore," Waverly said. She hung up on the call before Joseph could speak.
As soon as she hung up, Joseph called again.
Waverly answered the call.
"I dare you to hang up on me again," Joseph warned.
There were sparks in Waverly's eyes as she retorted, "When the cat's away, the mice will play. Haven't you heard of that sentence?"
After that, Waverly cracked a smile and hung up immediately.
She could imagine Joseph on the other side of the phone, furious and ready to explode.
The doorbell rang.
Waverly got up and went to open the door.
"Madam, I have already bought everything. I also bought some ginger tea. Rest well after drinking it. At 8 o'clock, our people will send the video to Thomas. Leave everything to us. We will definitely complete this mission," Agnes said firmly.
"Thank you for your hard work. By the way, there's really no need to stand guard outside my door in the future. I'll be fine. Besides, if you get outnumbered, you won't be able to do anything with just the two of you anyway. You can work better for me if you rest well," Waverly said softly.
Agnes looked at Waverly thoughtfully, "Boris has given me the agreement. You are different from others. You don't have desires."
Waverly raised her smile, "I have desires, but I've hidden them well."
"You are too kind. I don't know if that is a good thing or a bad thing," Agnes said worriedly.
"No matter if it's a good thing or a bad thing, we humans can't fight against the heavens. What I can do is live in the present and do what I can. Everything will go according to nature. You should rest. Girls need to have their beauty sleep so that they can remain beautiful," Waverly took the plastic bag from Agnes' hand.
"Alright. Thank you, Madam."
Waverly smiled and closed the door.
She took a shower, washed her clothes, changed into clean ones and drank ginger tea. She felt a little bit of pain in her stomach, so she laid on the bed and watched the TV casually.
After watching the TV for some time, she fell asleep in a daze.
She was awakened by the phone. She saw that it was Thomas' phone number, so she answered it.
Thomas asked angrily, "Waverly, what do you mean by this?!"
"Hmm?" Waverly asked leisurely.
"Someone threatened me with the video and ordered me to do whatever you want according to your conditions. I wanted to cooperate with you, but I hate being threatened the most. As such, this negotiation has been called off."
