Chapter 1052 Have To Say It Anyway
"Everything should be fine. I didn't hear anything from him. I'll ask and give you an update," Stella said and hung up the phone.
Waverly got on the plane.
The plane took off.
She stared at her phone, waiting for Stella's call.
When the plane entered the stratosphere, her phone rang. Waverly took it out immediately and looked at it. It was from Joseph. Her eyes dimmed.
She answered the call and asked indifferently, "What's the matter?"
"After spending the night together, how can you treat me like this? If that's so, I don't have anything to say to you." He hung up the phone.
An idea flashed past her mind.
She figured that what he wanted to tell her was about Bellamy, so she called him back immediately.
On the other hand, he answered.
"I haven't had breakfast or lunch. I'm not in a good mood as I'm hungry now," she explained. "What do you want to tell me?"
"I have already instructed someone to cook you a meal and send it to you later."
"Okay." Waverly answered, waiting for him to speak.
"Then, eat well. You can contact me after you finish eating," Joseph said and he hung up the phone.
Her brows furrowed.
All of them were keeping her guessing and trying to keep her in suspense.
For some reason, her heart was in turmoil and she felt very uneasy.
The chef pushed the food over in a cart.
Hayley was pleased. Her eyes twinkled and she kept the bread she was eating, "It turns out that there is food on the plane."
Waverly didn't have much of an appetite, so she called Stella again.
She answered the phone.
"What did he say? Is he okay?" Waverly asked.
"He didn't answer my phone and even I'm worried now. I'll ask Jasper to see what's going on in the President's office. When I get a grasp about the situation, I'll call you back as soon as possible. Don't worry," Stella promised.
Waverly trusted her, "Okay, thank you."
"No problem." After finishing her words, Stella hung up the phone.
Hayley looked at Waverly and said, "Madam, have something to eat first. We will soon arrive in A Country and we will be able to see Mr. President. It will be alright. If something happened, such big news must have been broadcasted. Only when we are full can we have the strength to do important things."
Waverly nodded. Only when she was full and ready could she ask Joseph.
The news he received was always the latest information.
She forced herself to eat a piece of steak, a chicken wing, and some broccoli. Then, she called him.
"Did you finish your meal? What did you eat?" He asked in a languid manner.
"Steak, chicken wings and so on. Is there anything you want to tell me?" She asked.
He was silent for about three seconds, "I've been thinking about it for a long time. I think it's better to let Bellamy tell you personally."
Her heart skipped a beat.
Something really did happen.
"Does he know that I'm going there today?" Waverly asked.
"Of course. We sent an official document and the Department of External Affairs will probably inform Bellamy," Joseph replied.
Her heart was heavy, "What on earth happened?"
"Are you sure you want to listen to me instead of Bellamy? I figured that he will call you in an hour," he judged.
"Then, I'll wait." She hung up the phone and looked out of the window. She waited.
The whole process of waiting felt bad. It was just like the feeling before she got a divorce. The suspense, uncertainty and worry were suffocating.
Time passed by, one second after another.
Finally, Bellamy's call came and Waverly answered it immediately.
"How much longer do you need to reach A Country? I'll pick you up," he said in a low voice.
"About an hour." She replied, "Did something happen? I called, but you didn't pick up."
"There were some urgent matters to deal with. We'll talk about them when you arrive."
"Are you alright now?" She asked worriedly.
"Sort of."
"You sound tired. Go and have a rest. I'll be fine even if you don't pick me up. I'll come by myself," she said.
"I'll pick you up." Bellamy stated, "I'll hang up. I still have some matters to attend to."
"Okay, take care of yourself." Waverly hung up the phone.
"Madam, is Mr. President okay?" Hayley asked with concern.
Waverly shook her head and leaned against the window, "I don't know. He said that he would tell me when I arrive."
"Then, he should be alright," Hayley said.
She didn't think that way since there was something off according to Joseph's words.
However, since Bellamy had already said so, there was no point for her to keep asking.
Stella's text message was brief, "Bellamy said that when you arrive, he will tell you personally."
Waverly replied with a text message, "He told me. Thank you, Stella."
A minute later, Stella sent a text message back, "Everything will be fine. Believe in Bellamy."
Waverly didn't know why Stella would say that everything would be fine. Wasn't everything just fine right now?
She took a deep breath and tried to calm herself down. After all, she would see Bellamy soon.
An hour later, the plane descended. Bellamy got out of the car and smiled at her.
Waverly walked towards him and asked with concern, "Are you okay? Is it okay for you to come out like this?"
"My medical team has been following me. Everything is fine. Even the doctor said that I can come to pick you up. Get in the car first. We'll be heading to the President's Mansion. I have good news for you. Knight is pregnant and she will give birth in a month," he said with a smile.
She beamed. It was a good decision to not separate them at the beginning, "Show me the puppies after they are born."
"Sure," he replied.
Waverly looked at him and waited for him to speak.
He was tapping his fingers on his knee as if he was deliberately avoiding her gaze. He looked out of the window and said, "Spring is coming. What a flourishing scene. You're here now, so let's go for an outing. I'll take you around."
"It'll be bad if I was seen walking around with you. If you want to go, let's just go to Stella's place. The scenery in Snowie Town should be quite beautiful," Waverly said softly.
"That's good. They also miss you. Why don't we go to Stella's place for dinner tonight? I'll make a call and get them to prepare for it," Bellamy suggested.
She felt that the way the two of them talked to each other now was just like before they got divorced.
However, they were indeed divorced now. If she still went to see Bellamy's mother, younger brother and his brother's wife, and they ate together, it would be rather awkward.
"No, I'd hate to bother them. Stella's youngest daughter is still young and needs to be taken care of. They have a lot of things to do," she said and lowered her eyes.
"Alright. I'll get Marie to prepare dinner. She misses you very much, too. You can stay at the President's Mansion today," he said.
Waverly took a deep breath and looked at him.
He smiled at her and avoided her eyes.
"Bellamy." She called out his name, "If you want to say something, just say it. It doesn't matter. You have to say it anyway."
