Chapter 825 Who Exactly Are You?

However, her mood sank again when she thought of Eli.
Stella knew that she did not have a say, nor could she change Eli's mind. After all, Eli had made her own choices in life and she would not want Stella to assert her opinions on her forcefully. Regardless, Stella felt a faint hint of sadness in her heart.
She arrived at the military base shortly after. She immediately went to the yard.
"Sandro is probably playing in the backyard," Jasper said.
Stella put down her bag and rushed to the backyard.
Sandro was having fun on the slide. He immediately stopped playing when he saw Stella approaching, "Mommy, Mommy. Hug, hug."
Stella felt a surge of warmth in her heart. She was supposed to buy a gift for Sandro from D country, but she had completely forgotten about the gift because of how preoccupied she was. She picked up Sandro apologetically, "Do you want to go out and play later?"
"Go out, out," Sandro grinned happily.
"Let's go now," Stella carried Sandro back to the room. Jasper was still there.
She said to Jasper, "I'm taking Sandro out. We'll go to the supermarket and buy some snacks."
"I can get someone to send it over if you need anything. The supermarket here belongs to Milton Corp," Jasper said.
"It's fun to go shopping. I'll go with Sandro."
"I'll keep you guys company," Jasper offered.
Stella smiled, "You're busy with work. I'll bring Anthea with us too."
"Take Lynette with you as well. Mom went on a business trip yesterday. She'll only be back in a week."
Stella glanced at her watch. "It's 3 p.m. now. I'll come back and make dinner at around 5.30 p.m., okay?"
"You're already tired from catching the plane today. You don't have to cook. Since you're going out, just enjoy yourself. Have dinner at a restaurant. You don't need to rush back. I'll eat in the canteen."
Stella tiptoed and kissed Jasper on the face.
Jasper looked at her.
She felt embarrassed.
As Jasper was about to kiss her back, Sandro pushed him away. His face was very serious, as if he was on guard...
Jasper wanted to kiss Stella again. Sandro pushed him away again this time. Stella laughed at their interaction.
Jasper's face darkened. He picked up Sandro and placed him on the ground. After kissing Stella, he turned around and went to work in his study.
Sandro pointed at Jasper with annoyance. He frowned and said, "He kiss, kiss."
Stella smiled and squatted down to kiss Sandro on the face.
This made Sandro happy. "Hug, hug."
Stella picked up Sandro, grabbed her bag, and headed out with Anthea and Lynette.
Stella taught Sandro how to sing 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star' along the way. Sandro already knew the lyrics, so he sang along with Stella.
"What a great singer you are. What else can you sing?" Stella asked.
All of a sudden, Lynette slammed hard on the brakes, causing Stella to jerk forward and hit the car seat in front of her. She looked ahead and asked, "What's wrong?"
"Mrs. Milton, don't get out of the car. I'll go down and take a look," Lynette said cautiously. She immediately closed the door after getting out of the car. She walked to the front of the car and saw an old man lying on the ground.
"Old man, I'm sure I didn't run into you. If you're trying to scam me, I have a dashcam in my car," Lynette spoke.
The old man lying on the ground opened his eyes and gave Lynette a weird look. Then he got up and walked away angrily.
Lynette was speechless.
She got back into the car and continued driving. After some time, she stopped at the parking lot near the entrance of the supermarket in town.
"Lynette," Stella called out in a gentle voice.
Lynette looked at Stella and nodded. She stood respectfully and said, "Yes, Mrs. Milton?"
Stella raised her smile. "Let's talk later."
"Okay," Lynette lowered her head.
They went into the supermarket together. Stella put Sandro into the trolley and Anthea pushed him over to the child's play area.
Meanwhile, Stella and Lynette walked around leisurely.
"Have you thought it through?" Stella asked.
"He doesn't like me. He might even hate me."
"In ancient China, there was a monarch known as Emperor Hongwu. One day, a friend he had known before he became the emperor came up to him and started chatting about their past sufferings together. The friend was in tears as he talked about their story. But when Emperor Hongwu finished listening to the entire thing, he told the guards he did not know who that man was, and had him executed. Some time after, another man went looking for Emperor Hongwu. He said nothing about their past sufferings. Instead, he told Emperor Hongwu that he had always been fit to be a king. Emperor Hongwu ended up promoting that man to be a general. Do you know why?" Stella said softly.
Lynette gave a wry smile. "Because I've witnessed his betrayal. I've seen his ugly side and his disloyalty."
"That's why he's upset when he sees you. You represent his shameful past. It's impossible for him to fall in love with you. Instead of waiting for someone who will never fall in love with you, it's better to find someone good to you. Women easily fall for men who are good to them," Stella said with a smile.
Lynette looked at Stella and said, "I see, Mrs. Milton. Thank you for having this talk with me."
"Honestly, I have forgotten a lot about the past. But the fact that you are Suzi's goddaughter shows that you are a charming person. Don't let someone who doesn't love you destroy your self-confidence. You are an amazing person, and you're pretty too. When we get back, I'll teach you how to put on makeup," Stella said with a smile.
"Mm," Lynette's lips curled into a smile. "My heart feels lighter after letting it go."
"What if Elvis and Anthea get together? Will your heart still feel lighter then?"
Lynette was stunned for a moment. "Anthea?"
"Elvis has been surrounded by men. He's been alongside Jasper for the past decade. He hardly gets the chance to meet any girls, so it's only normal that he would get together with Anthea," Stella explained.
Lynette nodded. "Yes, just like how I fell for Elvis. It's probably also because I hardly meet men. Him being by Jasper's side is similar to me being by your side."
"So you understand?" Stella asked softly.
"He has never felt anything for me from the beginning, so nothing would have come out of this. It gets tiring for me too."
"I could arrange blind dates for you and introduce you to some fine men. One day you will find a man who has been waiting for a girl like you," Stella comforted her.
"Thank you, Mrs. Milton," Lynette said sincerely.
"Let's go to Sandro and Anthea," Stella brought Lynette back. Sandro was holding onto a toy car, which he then passed to Stella. He looked adorably at her with his round puppy dog eyes.
"Okay, I'll buy it," Stella said straightforwardly.
Sandro was so ecstatic that he hugged the toy car and refused to let it go.
Stella went over to the fresh produce section, thinking of buying some vegetables.
"Mrs. Milton, the military base gets fresh produce delivered every day. You don't have to buy them today," Lynette reminded.
Stella nodded. Instead of buying vegetables, she bought a lot of snacks.
She noticed that a man was staring at her when she went to the cashier.
Stella took a glimpse of the man from the corner of her eyes. He was very good-looking, his face was handsome and his gaze was deep. He was dressed fashionably and he gave off bad boy vibes. Every movement he made was filled with elegance, not to mention his figure was great too. He was clearly no ordinary man and he definitely attracted a lot of female attention.
Moreover, he gave her a strong sense of familiarity, as well as a faint sadness. However... she just couldn't recall who he was...
