Chapter 1050 A Little Warmth Can Let Him Give His All

However, his face gave nothing away.
Joseph was too unfathomable.
He looked up at her.
For some reason, she felt that his gaze was filled with sympathy and pity.
Had she seen it wrongly? Or was he up to something else?
"It's not bad." He praised, "When I visited your house, you made me meatballs too, right? I asked you how you made it. You said you added vegetables to it."
Waverly sat opposite him. She calmed down and replied, "What I made before was indeed meatballs with hidden vegetable fillings."
He looked up at her and said in confusion, "I asked people to make meatballs with vegetable fillings, but they don't taste the same."
"It's not pork filling, but lard. I'm sure your chef won't use lard as fillings," she said. She was hungry, so she picked up a meatball.
"What is lard?" Joseph frowned. It didn't sound like a good word.
"You know, my father was poor at that time. My family couldn't even afford oil, let alone pork. We would go to the market to buy cheap lard to make oil and dishes. The lard can be used to cook vegetables or be made into fillings," she explained.
"I asked you to go back with me, but you didn't want to," he rebuked.
"My father had no one except me. Of course, I wouldn't leave," she said sadly. She took a deep breath to ease her mood, "Why didn't you tell me you asked someone to hunt?"
"If I told you, wouldn't it reduce the fun of your hunting?" Joseph said and took a sip of chicken soup, "It tastes good."
"You're still sick. You'd better reduce greasy food intake. It's not good for your wounds," Waverly said.
She picked up a piece of stewed pork, which was more chewy than ordinary pork.
He looked at her. His eyes were softer and the corners of his mouth were slightly raised, "Then, why did you still cook so much greasy meat? I like pork stew a lot."
"There was so much meat at the door. I had to cook them. In fact, stewed pork is delicious with some wild vegetables. It's delectable," she said and the corner of her mouth raised.
He propped his chin on his palm and looked at her, "How many days do you plan to stay in A Country?"
She paused. If she could, she wanted to stay in A Country and would not come back.
However, as the representative of M Country, she had to be back in a week at most.
"A week?" She asked carefully.
Joseph snorted and the softness in his eyes disappeared. It was replaced by icy coldness, "I find that it's better not to have hope in you or it'll be very disappointing."
Waverly did not speak. She pretended that she did not understand him. She lowered her head and continued to eat, "If the rabbit meat could be marinated for longer, it would taste better. By the way, Joshua said that you want to barbecue in the evening. You are still sick. Barbecue is not good for your health."
"I will definitely recover in a week," he said in a sarcastic tone. He lifted the corner of his mouth which turned into an ironic smirk. He took the tissue from the table, wiped his mouth and looked at her coldly, "The doctor told me not to do strenuous exercise, but I am still normal. I have needs. You'll have to exercise tonight."
She was startled.
She looked up and down at him. She was trying to determine whether he was telling the truth or not.
He stared at her with no expression on his face, "Why? Don't you want to?"
"I went hunting today and walked a lot. I cooked for a long time. I'm exhausted," she refused.
He looked at his watch and said, "It's eight o'clock now. I'll give you two hours to rest. That's enough."
She frowned.
Although she had had intercourse with him many times, she still was reluctant and did not want to do so.
Joseph reached out his hand and caressed her face, "It's been a week. If you don't satisfy me now. I may go to A Country to find you."
"You… Aren't there other women?" Waverly frowned and said.
The corners of his mouth curled up and his eyes were icy, "You're so generous to push me to other women."
"If I mind, will you not go to other women?" She refuted.
"You can try asking for it. Maybe I won't." His smile widened.
She could not tell whether it was true or not.
She had watched a talk show before. The host said that one should not believe a man's words easily. At least half of it might be a lie. She had to listen to the part that the man did not say.
It was a pity that she couldn't tell whether what he had said was true or not.
Of course, she would not make such an absurd request.
She lowered her head and continued to eat.
Joseph had no appetite, so he got up and went out.
Waverly ignored him and continued to eat.
Her cell phone rang.
She saw that it was from Hayley. She answered the call.
"Madam, I'm sorry. I was taking a bath just now so I didn't hear your call. I'm already back. Now I'm arranging a room. Where are you? I'll go look for you right now," Hayley said.
"No, you're tired. Have a good rest. I'll call you if I need anything, but you have to update me whenever you return from now on. I was worried about you," Waverly replied.
Hayley realized that she had made a mistake, "I'm sorry, Madam. When I came back, I saw that they were having dinner. I was afraid that if it was too late, there might be no food left to eat. Plus, I didn't have lunch, so I went to eat quickly. I will report to you first in the future."
"Are you full?" Waverly asked.
Hayley showed an honest smile, "I'm full. I'm sitting at the same table as Joshua. He doesn't seem very happy."
"He's not full. That's why he's not happy."
"By the way, Madam, I heard something. I'm not sure if you know?" Hayley's tone became serious.
"What's the matter?"
"Yadriel was beaten by Joseph. He is still lying in the hospital. I heard that his ribs are broken," Hayley reported.
Waverly frowned. She had heard from Joshua that Yadriel had been in trouble because of her.
"When Joseph was caught, Yadriel wanted to take the blame, so he was locked up by Joseph. Therefore, he should have been punished by him," she explained.
"Oh my God, he's so ruthless to his underlings and beats them up so badly. Furthermore, Yadriel was trying to save him. He's too heartless. Mr. President definitely won't do this," Hayley complained.
"His way of handling things has always been cruel."
"The problem is, are the two brothers, Yadriel and Joshua, stupid? Even though Joseph treats them like this, they are still so loyal." Hayley was curious.
"I heard that Joseph saved the two brothers. Thus, they are loyal to him. Even if Joseph wants to take their lives, they won't have any complaints. Furthermore, he punished Yadriel for Yadriel's sake. He will be even more grateful to him."
"I see. In that case, I will find a chance to save Joshua. I will make him loyal to me," Hayley said with a smile.
