Chapter 837 It Started Because Of You, It's Ending Because Of You

Sean smiled insidiously. "Haward is guilty. He deserves to be punished by the law. I'm just a businessman. I can't save him even if I want to. As for my son, Haward has already been captured, so do you think you could still keep him from me?"
"So, why did you bring me here?" Eli narrowed her eyes and looked him up and down. The man looked extremely cold and indifferent.
"Was I the one that brought you here? Didn't you come here on your own? Or did you think that I would let Haward go as long as you were willing to be with me? Sorry to disappoint, but in my eyes, you're worth less than trash. I have no interest in you whatsoever," Sean said sarcastically.
He was arrogant, cocky, and full of swagger.
Eli smiled. She didn't have anything else to say. She took a deep breath and said, "I'll leave the child to you then. You don't have to snatch him away from me. I hope that you can let me see Haward."
Sean's gaze was ice cold. "Sorry, I can't do that."
Eli sneered. She had been holding in all the humiliation until now in hopes that he would show her some leniency.
He had become so cold and emotionless. Haward was on the verge of death, and even her child was about to be taken away from her and she would never be able to see him again in her life. She no longer had any hopes for her future. If death came, so be it. Why struggle?
"Sean, you're so childish. You went through so much just to trigger me, attack me, despise me, and embarrass me. Is it fun? Do whatever you want. We won't see each other ever again. I hope you get what you want," Eli turned around, opened the door, and went out without looking back.
Sean clenched his fists. He had done what he wanted to do. Now, he was no longer the President of A Country, but he still controlled D Country and X Country in the palm of his hands. He was an important figure internationally.
However, he was still not happy. Looking at Eli's carefree look, he felt unresigned.
He wanted her to kneel on the ground and beg for forgiveness. He wanted her to beg him to marry her, but she didn't. She just left without a care.
"Hodge," Sean said in a cold voice.
"Chief," Hodge entered the door and saluted.
"Hodge, I don't feel satisfied. What do you think I should do?" Sean stared right ahead gloomily.
"For a woman like that, it would not make up for her sins even if she were to die many thousand times over. She was the reason you lost your position as President. Otherwise, you would be leading the country to prosperity right now," Hodge said angrily.
"I'm asking you for a solution, not complaints," Sean said unhappily.
"Let her suffer, and make her life a living hell."
"I want her to kneel in front of me and ask for my forgiveness, and..." Sean paused for a moment. His gaze fluttered but he kept silent. "Just do that for now. You have three months, I don't want to wait too long."
"Got it," Hodge nodded with a murderous flash in his eyes. Then, he went out.
Eli left Sean's place.
In D Country, she had always relied on Haward to lead a carefree life. Without Haward, she didn't know who to look for to help her get to Haward.
An image of Stella flashed through her mind and she lowered her eyes.
Stella and Jasper were living a happy life now. They would only become enemies of Sean if she were to pull them into this.
With Sean's crazy temper, he would definitely take action on Stella.
She didn't want to be selfish and ruin Stella's happiness.
All of a sudden, she saw a car rush towards her at a very fast pace.
Eli saw it but she didn't dodge. She knew Sean wanted to kill her. She was a single woman now with no son and no husband. She had nothing left, so she didn't bother hiding or struggling anymore.
At this moment, she had come to understand how Stella had felt back when she was suicidal.
She had always been careless and loud. She got over things quickly and even when things made her uncomfortable, she would forget them the next day. She was a carefree person and she had always thought she wasn't the type of person to feel suicidal.
However, no one could control the changes in a person's mindset.
The car braked to a stop about ten centimeters away from her before it hit her.
Two bodyguards got out of the car and stood in Eli's way.
She was fearless. She stared at the bigshot sitting in the car. It was Hodge.
Eli smiled. She got into the car voluntarily and sat in the backseat.
To her right and left sat two bodyguards. They were there to prevent her from escaping.
"Is Sean the one who asked you to kill me secretly?" Eli asked brightly.
"He just wants you to suffer a fate worse than death. He wants to see you kneeling and begging for mercy," Hodge said indifferently.
"A fate worse than death? You mean like before when you used to insert needles into my fingers? Kneeling and begging..." Eli leaned back onto the seat lazily and looked out at the blue sky outside the window. "I would advise you not to let me see Sean again. You know I endured everything because I love him. But he's destroyed that love, so I am ready to reveal everything. Once I do, either you or he will perish."
"Don't forget that your son is still in my hands. Do you want him to die with me?" Hodge said fiercely.
Eli shifted her gaze onto Hodge's face. "I don't even have love for Sean anymore, do you think I would love his child? So you would be better off killing me quickly. That would be the smart thing to do. Or are you too afraid of killing me without his orders?"
Hodge glanced at Eli. "I knew you aren't worthy of our Chief's love. Despite your beauty, you're a spineless and treacherous woman."
"Ah, did you really think I was a beauty with looks like this? Well, at least I brought some pride to my family and now, I can die with no regrets. Maybe I'll even be recorded in history just like how historical beauties were."
"You're shameless," Hodge gnashed his teeth in anger.
Eli smiled and said, "I like the murderous look in your eyes. You want to kill me yet you can't. How about I help you find a way?"
"What?" Hodge raised his tone.
"If you let me meet Haward one last time, I'll end my own life. Since it'll be a suicide, Sean can't blame you. Otherwise, as long as I'm alive, Sean might change his mind and want me beside him again. Sooner or later, I will become a liability, won't I?" Eli suggested with a smile.
It was hard to tell if she was being serious or if she was joking.
"Are you sure that you're willing to die?" Hodge said in a strange tone.
"I don't have anything left to live for. My biggest regret in my life is meeting Sean. If I haven't met him, I would have grown old happily with my parents. I would have lived a simple life, and my mother wouldn't have died because of me. My father wouldn't have died of depression either."
Her biggest mistake was returning to the country. If she hadn't done so, she would not have fallen in love with Sean. She wouldn't have caused him to lose his position as President. Then, none of this would have happened. Now, she would lose her life before she could even take revenge.
"My family is just unfortunate. Hodge, you've caused me so much misery. Please bury my ashes beside my parents on my behalf. I promise not to haunt you after I die," Eli said cheekily with a smile.
