Chapter 1126 It's Inevitable That I'll Feel Sad, But I've Gotten Used To It
"You have been in a daze recently and Bellamy has also come to Mexiland. I asked you about it, but you didn't want to say anything. As such, I thought that the matter had something to do with Bellamy. This morning, Joseph suddenly came back here. Only matters concerning you and Bellamy can make him return," Boris analyzed.
"Bellamy asked me to follow him, leave M Country and settle down in another country," Waverly said.
Boris looked down and did not answer Waverly.
Waverly continued, "I thought it over and decided to follow him. When I called him in the middle of the night, he said he regretted his decision. He has returned to his country now."
Boris looked up at Waverly and said, "You are quite sad about it."
"It's inevitable that I'll feel sad, but I've gotten used to it. He's always been like this." Waverly's eyes turned red and she smiled, "Perhaps it's also fate. God already decided that I have to take this path."
Boris' heart ached for her and he furrowed his eyebrows, "You are a good person. You will definitely experience a good ending."
"Ha." Waverly laughed, "I don't want to be a good person. It's too difficult. As soon as I do something wrong, I'll stop being a good person in the eyes of others. If I'm a bad person yet I do a good deed, others will think that I'm actually quite nice."
"There's no need to live up to others' expectations. Just live following your own heart. Humans have such a short lifespan. Only by living while following our own hearts that we can say that we've truly lived for ourselves. At least, the life I am living now is my choice. I have no regrets," Boris said.
"Although your girlfriend fell into a coma because of you, you have no regrets?" Waverly asked.
"I don't regret choosing to be with her. Before she slipped into unconsciousness, she told me to not be sad and not to blame myself. She said that she had no regrets. As such, now that I've come out to fight for her, I have no regrets too," Boris answered with a smile.
"You are a true hero."
"I don't deserve to be called a hero. I have done a lot of misdeeds and I can't guarantee that what I do in the future will be the right thing. At the very least, this is what I chose to do. I live for myself."
"Okay," Waverly responded as her eyes became redder.
"Madam, please take a rest first. I'll be waiting outside the door," Boris said respectfully. Then, he turned around and went out, closing the door for Waverly.
Tears flowed out from Waverly's eyes.
She disliked loneliness, but it still followed her like a shadow. What she could do, what she needed to do and what she wanted to do was to get used to the loneliness.
Similar to how she had treated Hayley at the beginning, she wanted to get help from Boris and Agnes, but she didn't want them to die because of her.
She would feel guilty, sad and blame herself for a lifetime.
She turned on the computer and typed something. She opened all the files and transferred them into a USB flash drive.
She remembered that there was a serviced office in the hotel. She could print the documents out at a later time.
When she was done, she began to wash her face, put on her make-up and change her clothes.
It was already six o'clock, but Thomas had not called her yet.
She took the USB flash drive and headed out.
Boris was still standing at the door, "Has Thomas given you a call?"
"Not yet. It doesn't matter. Just wait a little longer. I'm going to the serviced office."
"I'll go with you."
"Okay."
Waverly went to the serviced office and printed out the agreement. She signed her name, applied lipstick on her index finger, stamped her fingerprint on the agreement, blew it dry and handed it to Boris.
"What's this?" Boris asked in confusion.
"We should revise the agreement between us. If I accidentally die, my death will have nothing to do with you and Agnes. You two are no longer my sacrificial pawns, but just my employees. After a year, you can choose to not extend the contract," Waverly said seriously.
"There's no need for that. Since we have chosen to be your sacrificial pawns, we have chosen to be in danger. We will bear the responsibility with you. After all, we have taken your money."
Waverly put the agreement into Boris' hand, "As your friend, I want to do this."
Boris looked at Waverly thoughtfully, "Do you think that you will not live past a year?"
"I don't treasure my life. I may give it up as I see fit."
"With such symptoms, have you gone to see a psychiatrist?" Boris asked worriedly.
Waverly smiled and replied vaguely, "Stella is the most famous one out there."
"For some people, if they have depression, they will express their negative feelings by throwing tantrums, becoming irritated and complaining. Those signs are actually cries for help. Some people who are depressed simply smile and participate in daily activities like others. They make the people around them feel as though they are doing well. However, in fact, they have already given up on helping themselves, which makes them the most dangerous type. You are incredibly dangerous," Boris said with worry.
"I won't die easily. I still have a lot of things to do," Waverly said with a smile.
"If you have time, you'd better see a psychiatrist to help yourself. Too many things have happened to you recently. If you don't say anything and suppress your sadness in your heart, you will have a breakdown sooner or later when you can't bear it," Boris advised.
Waverly's eyes were red.
It seemed that nothing good had happened to her since she was a child.
When she was a child, in order to get the love of her parents, she had worked harder than everyone else, but she had not gotten anything in return. Instead, she had experienced Lenold's betrayal, Bellamy's abandonment and Joseph's torture. She did not have any relatives, friends or lovers. What else did she still have?
Desire?
She didn't seem to have that either!
All the while, it seemed that she had been struggling to even live. She wanted to escape from reality, but she could not. She had no power, so she could only drown in her own incompetence.
"Boris," Waverly called out his name, "When you woke up and realized that you were betrayed and abandoned and were even hunted down, how did you overcome all that?"
"I have the most powerful weapon in the world. They tried their best in order to obtain it, but I did not allow them to get close. That weapon is my goal and my will to live," Boris said firmly.
"It's good to have a goal. After all, we also need a will to live," Waverly said as her cell phone rang.
She saw it was a call from Thomas, so she answered it.
"Hey, beautiful, I am already downstairs. Which room are you in?" asked Thomas.
Waverly didn't want him to come into her room, so she replied, "I'll head downstairs to welcome you."
Hanging up on the call, Waverly said to Boris, "Thomas is coming. You can book a private room for me in the hotel's restaurant. I'll take him there directly."
"Okay, I'll bring the wine as well. Let him drink it first. We'll let him guess the value of the wine. Then, we'll cook up a moving story. The value of the wine will be shown then," Boris reminded her.
"Okay," Waverly responded, took a deep breath and went out.
When she went downstairs, Thomas came over and sized up Waverly. He didn't bother concealing his eyes, which were full of lust.
He reached out and held Waverly in his arms. He said, "Baby, which floor is your room on? Let's go in and get to know each other more first. Then, we'll eat. You look even more delicious than all the delicacies in the world."
