Chapter 813 You’re Back
Stella could no longer remember these things, but her mood brightened when she looked at Jasper's smile.
"Life will torture us, but it will also surprise us," Stella said with a smile.
Jasper held her hand. To him, it was a pleasant surprise that Stella had returned to his side.
Life was very short, so what else did he desire?
After a while, the waiter brought in two sets of crab roe pastry, two sets of steamed buns, two bowls of mushroom soup, and a large pot of earl grey tea. He also thoughtfully served a plate of sauce and a few extra plates.
"The waiter here is very thoughtful," Stella said.
"Give it a try," Jasper put a steamed bun on Stella's plate.
Stella took a bite and said, "The filling seems to be shrimp, bacon, and carrot. They taste good."
"Yeah," Jasper replied, with the corners of his mouth slightly raised.
Stella held her chin in her hands and looked at him. She had a vague feeling that her husband was very handsome. "You are only allowed to smile at me in the future."
Jasper stopped smiling and replied solemnly, "Yes."
All of a sudden, Stella's heart was filled with warmth. No matter how cold the weather was, her body was still warm.
After the meal, Jasper went to get the take-away orders he had ordered and paid at the front desk.
Stella stood behind him.
The cashier received Jasper's money, and the boss came with two bamboo boxes. "Mr. Milton, this is what our big boss had asked me to give you."
"That's so nice of him. There's really no need for this. I'll visit him next time," Jasper rejected politely.
"Mr. Milton. The boss will fire me if you don't take it. This is the task that he has given to me."
Jasper really didn't want to accept it. However, it wouldn't look good either if he tried to pay for it.
"Take it," Stella said with a smile.
"Okay," Jasper took the crabs and said, "Please thank him for me."
"Sure thing. It's my pleasure."
Jasper went back to the car, and Stella walked daintily to him.
He was thinking about something.
"It was so kind of that person. I think he makes very delicious pastries. If you want to help him, when the neighborhood near the military area is established completely, you could give him a store for free and let him sell pastries there," Stella urged him.
"Stella, we didn't have a good wedding banquet before. I think we should choose a good day to make up for it," Jasper said.
It turned out that he was thinking about this.
Stella's heart was touched.
"Let's hold it this year, or maybe at the beginning of next year. I want to settle Sean's matter first. Jasper, you will help me, won't you?" Stella asked softly.
"Yes," Jasper said the simple word.
She would be confident as long as Jasper was willing to help her. "I will stand firmly by your side all the time as well."
Jasper nodded.
It was already about ten o'clock when they returned to the manor. Suzi had finished tidying up the house and was sitting on the sofa, playing with Sandro.
Sandro, who was playing with little toy cars, stood up when he heard the sound of the car outside. He said to Suzi with a confused face, "Daddy."
Suzi was amused by Sandro's expression and she turned her head around. Jasper and Stella came in with food in their hands.
"Weren't you supposed to go to the military base today?" Suzi asked curiously.
"We are. I bought some pastries and brought them back. All of you, come over and eat. My previous comrade gave me these crabs," Jasper said.
"Well, I'll cook the crabs, then we shall have lunch at home at noon. After lunch, we'll go to the military base," Suzi suggested.
"I have a separated courtyard in the military base. Everything is there, including a kitchen. It'll be the same if you cook there. When will you go to the company?" Jasper asked.
"I left everything to the CEO. I'm not expanding new investment projects at the moment. I'll hold a video conference in the afternoon and evening. That's all."
"Okay. Let me know if you need to go on a trip," Jasper said as he placed the food on the dining table.
Stella took a set of disposable cutlery and put the baby chair in front of the table. She said gently to Sandro, "Sandro, try these pastries."
Sandro immediately trotted over.
Stella placed him on the baby chair.
"Mrs. Milton, I'll feed Sandro," Anthea said with a smile.
"You should eat too. These steamed buns are good, and there are six different flavors," Stella said with a smile. She opened a box, took a bun, and held a lid under it. This way, she wouldn't be afraid of the crumbs falling.
Sandro took a bite and chortled loudly. The corners of his mouth were raised sweetly as he chewed on the bun. He was so adorable that even Stella's heart melted.
How did she even bear to give up such a lovely baby in the first place? Even she herself found it incredible.
Stella fed Sandro another bite. She would never be tired of looking at him the whole day, just looking at his adorable little face.
Sandro ate even more happily. As he ate, he hummed, "Mommy, Mommy. Mommy is the best in the world. A baby with a Mommy is the most blessed."
Stella was amused by Sandro.
"Is Grandma not the best now?" Suzi was jealous.
Sandro immediately added, "Grandma is good. Auntie Anthea is also good. Auntie Lynette is also good. Daddy is also good."
Stella noticed that Lynette was a little distracted. When Sandro mentioned her name, she came to her senses and smiled slightly.
The plane had arrived before they finished eating.
"Take those unfinished ones to the plane to eat," Suzi said. She did not want to affect Jasper's schedule.
The group of people packed up their luggage.
Jasper sent a small plane that could accommodate 25 people. The plane arrived at the military base in less than half an hour and it was parked at the airport apron.
Two cars came to pick them up.
Stella looked out of the window. Her heart suddenly palpitated, and a piece of memory flashed across her mind. A bullet penetrated the back of Jasper's head, and at the same time, she could feel that her heart seemed to be dead.
"Jasper, did your gunshot accident happen in the military base?" Stella asked in a trance.
"Yes, they were Quinn's men. Now that Quinn has been brought to justice, such a thing will never happen again," Jasper reassured calmly.
"Where are your people? Could they all come to the courtyard to protect you?" Stella asked with lingering fear.
Jasper smiled slightly. Even if they didn't protect him, they had to protect his loved ones. "They are already there. Now Bell is the President. My crisis is over."
"Okay," Stella took a deep breath and leaned back on the seat, resting comfortably.
In the sky, the rumbling of a plane could be heard.
She looked up at the sky.
"I think Bell has arrived. I asked him to come to the military base," Jasper explained.
"Okay," Stella responded calmly.
She was not that calm anymore when she saw Bellamy's face.
Someone had told her before that Jasper and the President looked very similar. How much did they resemble each other?
They were of the same height, the same face, and the similar figure.
If one must find a difference between the two, then it would be their temperaments.
Bellamy walked up to her and looked at her deeply. He said softly, "You're back."
