Chapter 952 Waverly, Do You Like It?
Without knowing how much time had passed, she finally woke up. She stared out the window, and the sky was still gloomy.
She picked up her phone and realized that it was already 5.26 p.m.
Joseph mentioned that he would take her with him that night, but he didn't tell her the address. She got up and freshened up before she headed outside.
Hayley was playing with the dog. She smiled at Waverly and greeted, "Madam, I've prepared dinner, do you want to have dinner now?"
She thought it would be great to eat something before heading to Joseph's, as she wouldn't have a great appetite by then. Hence, she accepted the offer, "Sure, thank you."
"I'll bring the dishes out now," Hayley spoke as she walked into the kitchen, with the dog wagging its tail and following behind her.
Waverly sat down at the dining table.
Hayley served the dishes.
"Hayley, are there any audio monitoring devices that won't be easily detected?" Waverly asked.
"Most of the monitoring equipment now is easy to detect. There used to be some tracking devices that could be planted in our bodies, but they can detect anything with the unique equipment nowadays. The safest way to monitor someone lately is actually through mobile phones," Hayley explained.
"Mobile phone?" Waverly questioned.
She nodded. "You can hack through someone else's mobile phone and hear whatever they say, even with their phones are turned off."
Waverly had a bad feeling. She handed her phone over to Hayley, "Can you check my phone?"
"Madam, your phone is customized. There shouldn't be any problem with it," she assured with a smile.
Hayley was right. Bellamy gave Waverly this phone, and he did mention that it was heavily encrypted. Neither viruses nor hackers could crack through it. The phone was also programmed to reformat itself if a threat was detected.
In other words, Joseph's phone would be similar to hers too.
She needed to have at least a picture or an audio recording to make Madam Lenny believe her words.
"Hayley, is your phone encrypted too?" Waverly inquired.
Hayley bowed her head slightly.
"Let's head out and buy a mobile phone, and then you'll help me hack the phone. Is that okay?" She requested.
Hayley was puzzled, "Madam, are you spying on yourself?"
She wanted to monitor Joseph through that phone. Even if she couldn't snap pictures of Joseph with other women, at least she could record the conversations between her and him.
She only chose to stay close to him to stop him from expanding his power and from being the king of his world!
"Do as I said," Waverly commented as she headed out and went into the red Ferrari. She quickly drove out and purchased a new phone as well as a new phone number.
By the time she headed back, Joseph's subordinate was already standing by the entrance.
"Madam, this way, please. Mr. Mccarthy said to bring only you along," the subordinate uttered with a poker face.
"Madam, please talk them through and let me accompany you," Hayley begged with concern.
Joseph had way too many subordinates with him, and they were all experts in their field. Hayley wouldn't play a huge role in helping her, and she might even be a burden if she tagged along.
"Just stay home and remember what I told you just now. Do it immediately, I will be fine," Waverly ordered before getting into Joseph's subordinate's car.
She stared at her phone, hoping that Hayley had already found a way to hack into it.
Thirty minutes passed by, and they were driving further into the suburbs.
Waverly frowned. The darkness outside made her feel insecure.
She glanced at the driver.
He was still expressionless.
She continued to stare out of the window, and the car was soon driving up a mountain.
"Are we heading to another spot of Joseph's? It seems so hidden as we have to go up this mountain," she pried tentatively.
"Madam, if you are afraid, you can always choose to leave M Country instead of staying here thinking of all the ways to trigger Mr. Mccarthy," the subordinate retorted in frustration.
She sneered, "You should know better than anyone what he did to me. Why is it okay for him and for you guys to harm me, but I can't be thinking of ways to protect myself?"
The subordinate pursed his lips and argued, "Clearly, we have different perspectives on this. There's no harming involved!"
Waverly looked out of the window. She didn't want to argue any further. It wouldn't do her any good to offend Joseph's subordinate.
The car journey continued for another thirty minutes before they reached the top of the mountain.
The layout at the top of the hill was sweet and warm. There were no villas around but a few large tents. The surrounding was lit up by red and green lights, and there were two patches of roses arranged in the shapes of two hearts. The roses looked beautiful and attractive under the lights.
A woman's loud but excited moaning could be heard from one of the tents.
One could easily picture what was going on in that tent.
However, two men were standing outside the tent. She couldn't just run in and snap pictures. Even if she did, the pictures would be confiscated right on the spot.
The only hope she had was to have a conversation with Joseph, and that Hayley could hack through her phone to record everything.
The moaning stopped and it seemed like they were finally done inside the tent.
"Come on, just tell me which one is more enjoyable to you, Waverly or me?" The woman could be heard saying.
The voice sounded familiar... It sounded like Qianna.
Could it be that she was having an affair with Joseph?!
Waverly was shocked at that idea, and at the fact that he invited her over just for her to witness this.
A faint chuckle could be heard.
Waverly turned around in surprise and saw Joseph standing behind her. She was puzzled.
He was standing behind her, staring at her as if he had been there all this while, and as if he could read through her mind.
The man inside the tent was not him then!
"Lenold, you're annoying," Qianna teased with a series of soft laughter.
Waverly turned to the tent in shock again. The man inside was Lenold.
Therefore, the woman who was on the phone with Joseph that afternoon wasn't another woman but Qianna.
If she knew about the relationship between her and Joseph, would it be a good thing or not?
Her mind was in a whirl, and she couldn't sort things out for a moment, but she was certain about one thing. Joseph wouldn't do something at his disadvantage. Therefore, the one at a loss in this situation would be none other but Waverly herself.
She turned around and said, "I'm heading back."
"Now that you're here, why are you rushing back? Aren't you here to see what surprise I had planned out? Lenold is back. Isn't this surprising enough for you?" Joseph fixed his gaze on her with a smirk. He was clearly having fun at this.
"Did you ask me over to show what you are capable of or to make me see just how fearless you are?" She retaliated.
"You're somehow right about this. Do you really think I'll marry off a time bomb like Qianna to Beckham? I believe he wouldn't want this to happen too. You and I both know her temper and personality very well. She would only bring trouble upon us if she continues to make a fuss every once in a while even after she marries Beckham," Joseph continued casually.
Waverly frowned, "What do you mean? Are you saying that you never wanted to marry Qianna off to Beckham, and it was all smoke and mirrors?"
