Chapter 903 She Has A Way To Prove Her Innocence

"Are you... Bellamy?" Lenold asked in surprise.
"Yes, and don't call her again." Bellamy then hung up the phone.
Waverly was utterly moved, tears already welling in her eyes.
She was very clear that it was impossible for them to be together. However, whenever she heard it coming out of others' lips, her annoyance would peak, her discomfort harsh. Even if Bellamy was weaving white lies, it was only stemming from his intention to help her.
He had been nothing but nice to her. So far, he was one of the only two people in the world who had ever treated her with such care. One was Bernald, who had died because of her, and the other was Bellamy.
She did not want Bellamy to be implicated because of her.
In truth, she still had a way to prove her innocence. She was still a virgin, and all she had to do was to prove that. However, she had been married to Bellamy for five years. If word of her still being a virgin got out, it would definitely create another problem. Other politicians would push this news to the front page and slander him as the bad guy. If that happened, it would present an even more difficult problem to solve.
Therefore, even if she was framed or wronged, even if her reputation was sullied, and even if she had to be wronged for the rest of her life, she was willing to bear it.
To the best of her ability, she vowed to protect the man she loved, just like how Bernald used to protect her.
She was lucky, for at least she found a man she loved deeply. Whenever she thought of him, she would feel a warm feeling surging in her heart.
However, for some reason, her tears were threatening to come out, and the last thing she wanted was for Bellamy to see it. She got up and went to the washroom. She looked at herself in the mirror, her reddened eyes reflecting at her.
Closing her eyes shut, she fought back her tears. She looked out of the window, collected herself, and washed her hands. After that, she went out again.
Standing at the door of the washroom, Bellamy looked at her with concern and said, "If he continues to pester you in the future, I'm only one call away. No matter what happens, no matter where I am, I will find you."
Waverly let out a laugh, straining herself to hide the deep look in her eyes.
In the past, she had never wanted to deal with Lenold, she only thought that he was a nuisance. She had still given him enough of respect. Being carefree was one of her virtues, always keeping trouble at bay. However, her last straw was when Bellamy was troubled. No way in the future that she would still be as carefree. She had to be like the devil, she had to incite people's fear for her. She was only afraid of hurting the man she loved. When push comes to shove, she would put on an armor and obliterate every obstacle in her way. She could not afford to fall down again.
"Let's eat. The food will get cold any time now. Don't let him rattle you up. If Lenold dares to provoke me in the future, my aunt, for one, won't let him go."
"But she won't let you go either," Bellamy said, worry discernible in his voice.
"The old Waverly might still be afraid of her. But I have been with you for five years. Do you think that my aunt will still be a match for me? Just look at the tutelage I'm under," Waverly said cheekily.
Bellamy reminded her, "You'd better not provoke people like Qianna. After she's proven innocent, she will soon marry Beckham, and her power will be stronger than ever," said Bellamy.
Waverly said firmly, "If Beckham really is such a professional schemer, then it must be a bad choice to marry my aunt. As the saying goes, 'one is not afraid of strong opponents, but only unreliable teammates'. For the kind of person like my aunt, there is no way for her to not cause problems."
Bellamy looked at her deeply. "I hope that you can stay away from these people and live an ordinary life."
Waverly realized that she had said too much. Bellamy was a smart person. If she said even a wee more, he would be able to hazard all her thoughts.
"Time to eat." Waverly sat down and lowered her head, starting to eat.
Bellamy took a bite. "You were also the one who made the breakfast back then too, right? Marie is not as good as you."
Feeling all contented after being praised by the man she loved, she said, "Marie is also good at cooking."
Bellamy's eyes darkened a little as he nodded to agree.
Some men might consider a woman sexy when she wore scanty clothes, while some would think that women looked hot in elegant clothes. As for him, he thought that a woman looked best when she was cooking, and the sight of that could very well move his heart.
"We'll leave at 8 a.m. tomorrow. Let's rest early tonight," Bellamy said.
"I'll watch TV with you in the evening. I want to see another classic movie." Waverly pleaded coquettishly.
"Why, do you have a penchant for classics?"
"My penchant speaks for itself. I am a very sentimental person. When I was very young, I only had a small peek at it. Because I needed to study, I never had time to watch. Now, I suddenly wish to watch those movies again, and I want to watch it with you," Waverly said with a smile.
"Alright. I will spread out the sofa and get two quilts. If you are tired, you could just sleep on the sofa," Bellamy said softly.
Slivers of sweet feeling emerged from her heart.
In the past, Bellamy would never sleep with her no matter what. Even though they were only watching TV this time, at least, they would be able to sleep together. She would have one less regret. It would be worth it even if she were to die in the future.
After the meal, Waverly went into the kitchen to wash the dishes.
There were a lot of leftovers. She thought that she could eat some as supper, so she didn't keep it all in the refrigerator. She just wrapped them up with plastic wraps and put them neatly on the chopping board.
After washing the dishes, she simply swept the floor and cleaned herself. Bellamy had already taken a shower and had laid out the sofa, washed some cherries, peeled an apple, cut it into small pieces, and placed some strawberries aside.
He turned on his computer and projected it onto the TV to watch the first episode of a TV series.
Waverly leaned beside him, fixing her gaze on the TV.
With Bellamy there, both her body and heart felt warm.
"I didn't expect you to watch this kind of TV series," Waverly smiled and said. To her, Bellamy had always been an amiable and gentle man, but he was also mature. He was such a man, down to his bone. Thinking of that, she suppressed a chuckle.
"When I was young, I didn't like to watch this type of show. I mean, the storyline is so slow. I skipped everything that is related to romance. I watched action dramas, prison breaks, heroes, and so on. Now, I'm quite a grown-up. Didn't I accompany you the last time when we saw that show set in royal palaces?"
Waverly remembered a time from the year before when she watched a popular palace show on TV. She had wanted to watch it, and Bellamy catered to her wish.
They were both rulers of a country, but a king from the past adhered to polygamy. He could only have one. She asked him, "Will you feel like you're at a disadvantage?"
He replied, "I'm glad that there's no need to sell myself."
Amused, she laughed hysterically. Then, she asked, "If I were one of the imperial concubines, how many years do you think I could live?"
He said, "You will definitely be able to live to the throne."
Jokes as they were, her heart was still brimming with joy, and she was so happy that she felt like blooming flowers.
However, women were always prone to comparing themselves, especially when it came to them and their lover's exes.
"In your opinion, how long do you think Stella could live in these films?" Waverly asked softly.
"I'm sorry?" Bellamy looked at Waverly. He could not place her question for a moment. They were watching something else entirely. How in the world did their topic veer off to a palace show?
Waverly looked sideways at him. "I'm simply curious about what you would think."
