Chapter 818 Liking You Without Any Reason
Bellamy took a nap at the military base in the afternoon. After he woke up, he got ready to leave.
Stella followed him out.
Jasper was reluctant to part with her. "I'll go with you."
He was stating his intentions.
Stella shook her head and said, "You've just returned to the military base, there's a lot here you need to deal with. I will come back quickly right after I meet Sean."
Jasper was silent, and he looked at her deeply.
Stella smiled. "Are you worried about me?"
"Get Lynette to accompany you. She used to be a part of the Dark Shadow," Jasper said in a deep voice.
Stella nodded. "Got it."
She went out and got in the car. She boarded Bellamy's plane after reaching the airport.
His private plane was pretty nice. The rooms were soundproof, and were set up like a hotel room with two double beds. There was also a soundproof living room with a round sofa, a coffee table, a television and a sound system.
"Do you want some coffee?" Bellamy asked.
Stella shook her head. "Just give me a cup of warm water. If there are lemon slices, please add two of them."
"There should be some somewhere around here," Bellamy opened the refrigerator and took out an entire lemon.
"Mr. President, let me do it." Lynette stepped forward and said respectfully.
Bellamy passed the lemon to Lynette and sat across Stella. He looked at her with his gaze deep. "You love him so much. I know that you two will definitely be together as long as he is alive."
Stella listened to his tone. It seemed that they were no strangers after all. "Once you let go, then you'll get it. The end of something also signifies a new beginning. Don't be afraid of the future. It holds many miracles that we can't even imagine."
"Beckham would not be my opponent now if I had solved the root of the issue earlier. I don't know if you are right, but since I've decided to follow your advice, I don't plan on regretting it, and I must look forward. Even if it ends badly, at least I gained a friend, right?" Bellamy looked at her with burning eyes.
Stella vaguely felt that there was something between them.
It wasn't love, but it was something beyond just friends. It was more like a sense of dependence because of his trust, expectations, and desire toward her.
"Smart leaders don't rely on suppression, but rather, the creation of peace. A long time ago, there was an undefeatable war general. He led the army in killing over 400,000 Country Z troops. Originally they had surrendered, but the general was worried that they could not be trusted. On the other hand, if 400,000 troops became his, then Country Q's power would've been the greatest of all."
"However, in the end, those 400,000 troops had no choice but to be held as war captives. They were not loyal to Country Q."
"If Country Q had treated their wives, their families, and their children well and gave them a good life, then the future would've been unpredictable. Carrying the guilt of killing 400,000 men on his back, the war general was not able to die in peace. Whatever we do, we must do with a good conscience. Where there is a will, there is a way. What matters isn't the choice you make, but what you do with your choices. Fear tends to ignite anxiety, but good planning will make you feel secure."
"I don't know how to strategize, and I don't know how to make my plans foolproof. Stella, come back and help me."
"I only know psychology."
"Your knowledge in psychology is enough. You could see through people. For me, that is the greatest help. I'm not afraid of perishing alone. I don't have parents or children, even my wife is not mine. The only thing I have is my brother. I'm afraid that my mistakes will drag you and Jasper down with me."
Stella understood that Jasper was his brother. Even if the two of them had nothing to do with each other, other people had formed the connection between them. What's more, at this point, they were indeed connected.
"I'll help you. We're a family. If you need anything, I'll be by your side at any time," Stella promised.
Bellamy laughed and opened his mouth wide into a smile. "Thank you, Stella."
"I am the one who should be thanking you. Bellamy, you'll make a wise leader. You're open-minded, you're willing to sacrifice, and you listen to what people have to say."
Bellamy lowered his gaze. He did not feel like he was as good as Stella had said him to be, but he sincerely hoped that Stella and Jasper would be happy. When Jasper was happy, he would then feel joy too.
Bellamy had arranged for Stella and Sean to meet, so the plane did not fly directly to the President's Office, but instead, landed where Sean was being held.
She vaguely remembered Sean's appearance. He was very good-looking, perhaps as enchanting as a demon. It was hard to ignore his smile despite the fear it stirred in people's hearts.
Her most vivid memory was that Eli hated Sean very much. Sean had trapped Eli to stay together with him, and the two even had a child together. She couldn't remember much else.
Stella followed a guard who led her through the prison. Soon, she saw Sean in his holding cell.
He was reading a book with a pot of tea beside him. The lamp was switched on and he was dressed in a white shirt and coffee-colored pants. The light shone on him, enhancing his serene aura.
Right now, he looked completely different from the person in her memory. He seemed more stable, more reserved, and also more closed off.
Sean noticed that someone was looking at him. He slowly looked at the door. When he saw Stella, he raised his smile and said, "Long time no see."
Stella walked over and sat down across from him.
Sean poured her a cup of tea and said, "Try it."
"Have you been doing alright here?" Stella asked.
"It's not a good place to be in, but I make the best of it. I have been expecting this for a long time. The fact that Bellamy did not kill me is already a sign of mercy," Sean said with a faint smile.
"Beckham is doing well now. He has become the new head of the Yaleman family," Stella said deliberately.
"The Yaleman family had been training him since a long time ago. Since I've fallen, they are most likely placing all their hopes on him."
Stella picked up the teacup and took a sip. The tea was not bad and was very fragrant. "You've already fallen. If Bellamy wanted to take revenge, the Yaleman family would have been long destroyed by now."
"So, now Bellamy is starting to worry."
"My responsibility is to persuade him not to touch anyone in the Yaleman family, including you. Bellamy is getting prepared to release you either tomorrow or the day after."
"Because of you?" Sean asked meaningfully.
"Because of Bellamy. No one could change his mind if he doesn't want to. Sean, Eli likes you, and she's waiting for you to go back. It doesn't matter who else has been ungrateful. However, if they overstep the line and reveal their greed, I assure you that I will deal with them personally. As for you, I don't want you to become Bellamy's enemy. To let you go, Bellamy will be taking a huge risk, and so will Jasper and I. We are putting our trust in you," Stella said sincerely and earnestly.
Sean didn't reply. Instead, he stared at Stella faintly...
