Chapter 955 You Simply Have A Death Wish

"Madam, how did you know that I am working for Mr. Chuck?" Hayley asked.
"It doesn't matter. You don't have to worry much. As long as you're telling me the truth, I'll let you stay with me," Waverly spoke gently.
"Mr. President was concerned that someone might take advantage of you after you arrive in M Country. That's why he sent someone to negotiate with Bobe and let me tag along with you. I'm sorry, Madam, for not telling you the truth," Hayley confessed guiltily.
Waverly shut her eyes. She felt warm in her heart, but the warmth was mixed with a string of complicated feelings, which was overwhelming for her.
She paused for a couple of seconds before she opened her eyes. Her sight was already blurry by then, and she continued, "Can Bellamy monitor me through the surveillance cameras in my room?"
She noticed that her voice was choked by sobs. She frowned out of frustration.
She was still too emotional, and this side of hers would sooner or later cost her life.
She shouldn't be like this.
"He can't see it, but I would report back to Mr. President," Hayley revealed.
Waverly breathed a sigh of relief. However, at the same time, she was reminded that Joseph had hacked the monitors the day they had slept together.
He was more afraid than her that someone else would find out about their relationship, especially if it was an enemy of his.
"Did you tell him that I got together with Joseph?" Waverly questioned.
"I did. Mr. President is worried about this, and he ordered me to keep in contact with his men here in M Country. We will all come to your rescue if you're in danger and send you out from M Country," Hayley disclosed.
She was even more emotional to hear this.
Bellamy was really nice to her. She felt at ease when she was with him.
Her sacrifices were all worth it the moment she heard how many things he had done for her and how much he cared about her.
Tears rolled down her cheeks. She sniffed and questioned, "Hayley, can I trust you?"
"Of course, I promised Mr. President that I would risk my life to protect you," she professed with certainty.
"I don't need your life," Waverly paused and added, "Bellamy is the savior you mentioned before, right?"
"Yes, if it wasn't for Mr. President, I would've died long ago. That's why I am dedicated to becoming a better person to repay him," Hayley admitted with a clear voice.
"Then you should know what you should and shouldn't do. Do you know who I am?" Waverly pried.
"Of course I know. You're the madam, and the one I need to protect," Hayley replied.
"I am Bellamy's ex-wife, who will never get to be together with him again for the rest of my life. Also, I'm someone who will only be a burden to him," she corrected her.
"No, Madam, you're the best person I have ever known. We all adore you so much, Madam. We know that you were framed and wronged. We know that you divorced Mr. President to protect him, and we know that he didn't want to divorce you because he adores you," Hayley interrupted her.
Hayley saying Bellamy still adored her was probably the best sentence ever to Waverly.
"Silly girl, Bellamy and I can never get together again. I'm already branded as the dirtiest woman in this world, and I will only bring damage to him if I return to his side. I might even cost him his position as the President."
"If he was removed from his position, he will lose all the freedom he has now, but at the same time, his reputation would be ruined and he would have nowhere to go in this world. That's why he has to stay in his place, and never let anything remove him from it," Waverly explained.
Hayley nodded, but then she realized they were on the phone, and Waverly couldn't see her nodding, so she replied, "I didn't know it could be this serious."
"So, don't involve him with my affairs. Do you get me now?" Waverly said.
Hayley was puzzled. "Why would your affairs drag Mr. President down?"
"I don't want him to spend so much time and effort on me anymore. From this day onwards, you can only tell Bellamy about the good news, but not the bad news," Waverly ordered.
"Then what if you're in danger? That Joseph guy just doesn't seem like a decent person," Hayley sighed in concern.
"It doesn't matter. I'm on my own. I don't have parents, I don't have siblings, and I don't have friends. Even if I was to die, I'd be dying alone. It's just a natural process. However, if Bellamy were to be in danger, Jasper and Stella would be involved as well. There would be more people who would lose their loved ones if that was to happen. Hayley, do you understand me now? Even if I have nothing to give, at least I did my best, for the... I...." She wanted to say 'the one I love,' but she didn't.
She wasn't even qualified to say that she loved Bellamy.
"It's enough not to bring trouble to him. If I was to be in danger, I'll arrange for you to leave safely first. You can still return to him by then," Waverly continued.
"Madam, what about you then? You're still young. Why are you talking as if you're willing to die already?" Hayley's eyes were already red.
Waverly smiled and replied in a peaceful tone, "It's alright, I've seen enough in my life. I just don't want to trouble anyone anymore. Hayley, can you promise me? If you can't, I can only send you away earlier."
"Yes, Madam, I'll promise you only to report the good news to Mr. President so that he won't worry about you," Hayley agreed tearfully.
"That's good to hear. Don't worry about me, I'm fine now. You go get some rest, I'll be back tomorrow," Waverly said before hanging up the phone.
She had to write a letter in advance to Bellamy so that he wouldn't blame Hayley if anything were to happen to her.
Hayley was innocent of this. She was kind-hearted.
Joseph walked in from outside. He looked slightly upset as he spoke, "Have you asked her?"
Waverly put her phone aside, hoping that Hayley had already hacked through her phone to get the conversation they had in the car earlier. She then responded to him, "Yes, I've got my answer already."
He walked slowly into the water and toward her. He added, "Then it's my turn to question you."
She noticed the danger in his eyes. She frowned slightly. "What do you want to know?"
"Did you bring along any monitoring equipment with you right now?" He fixed his gaze on her.
"What monitoring equipment?" She retorted.
Joseph cast a glance at her phone. His gaze darkened as he continued, "Then someone must have hacked through your phone. My subordinates are tracking the signal right now, and we will find the hacker within half an hour. I'll rip that hacker apart."
Waverly was afraid. She raised her chin and admitted, "I'm the one who asked the hacker to hack through my phone. You can just rip me into pieces."
He grabbed her chin fiercely and growled, "So you're trying to gather evidence from me, aren't you?"
