Chapter 1085 You’re Beautiful, So Everything You Say Is Right
Beckham's lips curled into a smile. He calmly drank the tea in his cup and said softly, "See you in Country M, Joseph."
In the evening, at Snowie Town.
Joseph had already drunk his third glass of wine, "This is a nice mix. Let's have another glass."
Sean mixed the wine slowly, "You can drink as much as you want, but if you get drunk, I'll throw you out. Don't make my woman's place dirty."
Joseph's mouth curled up, and he said with a provocative attitude, "Then, I'll climb in through the window and secretly sleep in your house."
Sean smiled and handed the wine to him, "I'm not one to be messed with."
"Would you like to have a fight?" Joseph said with a smile.
Truth be told, he was in a bad mood, such a terrible one that he was about to explode.
"Do you think I am as boring as you? I never turn to fighting to solve my problems," Sean said with a smile.
He took a sip of the wine and spat it out because it tasted bitter and spicy.
Sean long knew this was going to happen, so he hid himself early.
Joseph frowned and asked, "What did you mix in it?"
"I named it 'Blaze'," Sean said. "Do you still want another one?"
"Do you think I do?" Joseph retorted grimly with a warning look full with sharpness.
Sean liked Joseph's character quite a lot. He was arrogant enough to do a lot of things that Sean dared not do himself.
He mixed two cups of wine and poured a cup for Joseph and one for himself. He sat down next to Joseph and said, "Let me guess, you're heartbroken?"
"Do I look like a person who gets heartbroken?" Joseph denied his accusation directly without a second thought.
"If you love someone yet you can't get them, that's called heartbreak. She made you feel helpless, did she?" Sean asked as he took a sip of wine. He continued, "You love her more than she loves you."
Joseph rolled his eyes and said disapprovingly, "I don't love anyone except myself."
As he spoke, a glint flashed across his eyes, one that not even he himself noticed. With a single gulp, he swallowed down all the wine in the cup.
"When are you and Yasmine going to get married?" Sean asked thoughtfully.
"The date hasn't been decided yet, and whether it will be her who will marry me also hasn't been confirmed yet. Mix one more for me. The first one wasn't bad. I want that one," Joseph said.
"Are you taking my place as a bar? Sorry, you won't be able to drink even if you spend money, unless you answer my question," Sean said.
He sat lazily in a chair with one hand on the back of it and said, "What do you want to ask? Whether I'll answer or not depends on my mood. I'll give you an answer if I'm happy. If I'm not, I'll leave."
Sean smiled. The more he came into contact with Joseph, the more he thought that Joseph suited his taste.
He liked interesting people.
"Beckham framed your grandfather, yet you cooperated with him. If I'm right, your real target is Beckham, not Bellamy, right?" Sean said.
Joseph sneered. Looking at Sean with an unfathomable expression, he was gloomy and full of danger as he warned, "Has anyone ever told you that you won't live long?"
"I grew up in an environment full of trickery, not one where I was intimidated. The fortune teller said that I could live a long life of 100 years," Sean said without any weakness.
"It seems that you have been lied to since you were a child," Joseph stood up. "Your wine isn't as good as the wine from an ordinary bar. Indeed, there is no good stuff when it's cheap. I'm leaving," Joseph turned around and saw Eli hiding in the corner and peeping at him.
When Eli saw that she had been discovered, she retracted her head immediately.
Joseph walked straight past her.
Eli cranked her neck to look at his back.
Joseph stopped all of a sudden.
Eli quickly hurriedly averted her eyes and rushed into the room.
Without turning his head back, Joseph smirked and walked forward.
As soon as he left, Eli immediately went to Sean and asked worriedly, "That man looks fierce. What does he mean by 'you won't live long'? Will you be in danger?"
"He has a basic ability to distinguish right from wrong," Sean said.
"I don't think he does. If he did, he would know that Grandpa was framed by Beckham, but he still wanted to cooperate with Beckham. I find it hard to believe. Isn't that considered betrayal?" Eli disagreed.
Sean mixed a sweet concoction for Eli and said, "If he really had cooperated with Beckham, Bellamy would have stepped down already, or he would have died in Z Country a long time ago. He let him go on purpose. He's just laying low now."
"So, he's on Bellamy's side?" Not quite understanding, Eli began to frown.
"That might not be true. He's a free man. On the contrary, I think that he's a shrewd man who does great things. Besides, he's secretive. Even the people around him can't guess what he really wants," Sean guessed.
"Would it be dangerous for you to cooperate with him?" Eli asked worriedly.
"The dangerous one is not him, but Beckham. Beckham now has the evidence to prove my innocence, but why isn't he giving it out? Can you guess why?" Sean asked, handing the wine to Eli.
Eli took it and stirred it with a teaspoon, "I don't want to guess. It's tiring to do so. Just tell me."
Although exasperated, Sean looked at her dotingly, "Firstly, Beckham wants to control the Mccarthy family. Secondly, he wants to hold Joseph back. As long as he has the clean-cut evidence in his hands, Joseph will be under his control and won't fall out with him. Thirdly, Beckham also wants to suppress me and wants to have everything under his control."
"I don't like Beckham. He's not a good person," Eli said directly.
Sean smiled and said, "He shouldn't have provoked Joseph. When a person's power isn't enough to control another person, they will definitely suffer from backlash. Joseph is not someone that Beckham can control. In terms of ability, aura, or making schemes, Beckham is far from being able to control Joseph."
Eli took a big gulp of the sweet wine and said, "I think you're the most powerful one. They aren't as good as you."
Sean was elated.
Perhaps, as a politician, he would be very powerful. With a snap of his fingers, he could do whatever he wanted. One simple strategy could kill a man if he wanted to.
However, when compared with his current life, he preferred his present one. He could often accompany Eli. Apart from that thing, which was his goal, there was nothing else that could disturb them. Instead, his life was more comfortable and happier.
"That's just what you think. They're incredibly powerful, more powerful than you can ever imagine," Sean pinched Eli's nose.
"Who said that? Can they bartend? Can they make furniture? Can they draw? Can they design games? Can they cook? Can they sew clothes? Can they make the bed? There's no way they can do all that. No matter how powerful they are, they only know how to scheme against other people. You are all-rounded, okay? Don't be so modest," Eli said, handing the cup over to Sean. "Give me another glass."
Sean smiled and took the empty cup from Eli's hand, "You're beautiful, so everything you say is right."
