Chapter 801 You Are My Only Worry
Jasper glanced at Stella, cooked some steak, and served it to her.
After the meal...
Jasper rested whilst Stella accompanied him.
When they got onto the bed, he placed his arms around her waist and soon fell asleep.
Stella was recalling the number of patients whom she had seen so far. She had treated almost all of them, and there was only a heartbroken girl whom she would be meeting the next day.
She got up and stretched her waist.
Jasper opened his eyes and asked in a deep voice, "Where are you going?"
"I'm not going anywhere. I'll be at home. You should sleep for a while longer," Stella replied.
Jasper sat up and said, "Then I won't sleep anymore. It's going to be dark soon. I'll sleep again at night."
"I'm not going anywhere. Please go to sleep. I'll wake you up if I am going out," Stella said, looking at him with hopeful eyes.
It was only then that Jasper nodded his head.
Stella called Archer after stepping out of the room, and said, "Please ask Jessica whether she still wants the hypnotherapy."
"Okay," Archer replied and hung up.
Stella went to the backyard and played with Gracie for a while. She took a cushion and sat under the shade in the backyard, taking in the fragrance of flowers, enjoying the breeze, and feeling the beauty of nature. She felt very cozy and tranquil.
Her cell phone rang.
She saw that it was from Archer, and she answered it.
"Doctor Grace, Jessica has committed suicide," Archer said.
"What? I thought she wanted hypnotherapy?" Stella asked, completely bewildered.
"She had a fight with her family and was beaten by her father. Suddenly, she jumped out of the window in a rage," Archer explained.
Stella closed her eyes.
The girl was already on the verge of a mental breakdown. The father's beating would make her feel that there was no affection in her family.
Without family affection, love, and friends, she would not have the motivation to live any longer. Hence, she killed herself on an impulse.
"Doctor Grace, you don't have any appointment at the moment. Do you need me to help you make an appointment with a few more patients?" Archer asked.
"It's not necessary for the time being. You may decide whether you would like to schedule a few patients," Stella replied with a smile.
"Okay," Archer answered and hung up.
Stella then called Micheal and asked, "Michael, when will you come over?"
"I'll probably come over next Monday. All the documents are currently in process," Micheal replied.
"Okay, I'll leave the clinic here to you for the time being. I would like to go home," Stella said.
"What? Are you going back to A Country?" Micheal asked in shock.
"Jasper and I are together again. We are going back home to deal with the problems that have been left behind. What needs to be resolved must be resolved, and what needs to be borne must be borne."
"Have you recovered your memory?" Micheal asked her in bewilderment.
"No, perhaps I might regain my memories when I come into contact with more people and things from home. That might help to stimulate my subconsciousness and bring my memories back. No hurry, so let's just take things as they come."
"I will be so sad if you are no longer in the States. I don't even feel like going there now," Micheal said honestly.
Stella smiled and replied, "Don't say that. I would need you to take care of my house and clinic here. You only need to bring your wife and children without worrying about anything. There is already a job and a house for you to stay."
"It seems that I am taking advantage of you."
"Not only that, but I also need you to help me manage a seafood restaurant. You may choose to give me whatever profit as you deem fit," Stella said with a smile.
There were a few things in life that she did not care about gain or loss. She just wanted to let nature take its course.
"You are my benefactor. I will definitely follow your lead in the future," Micheal said.
Stella heard Micheal's child's voice on the other end of the call. "Daddy. It's Daddy's."
She smiled from the bottom of her heart and said, "You should take care of the child first. Call me when you are here."
Stella then hung up.
She had already settled the house and the businesses she had here, as well as the work at Vann's side.
She continued to sit quietly on the lawn, her thoughts drifting casually. Feeling a little tired, she lay down on the mat, closed her eyes, and fell asleep.
She woke up, a blanket covering her body and a hand on her waist.
She turned her head and wondered when Jasper had fallen asleep next to her.
She turned over and looked at Jasper who slowly opened his eyes.
It was so comfortable to just lie there.
She did not speak, but continued to close her eyes and take her rest.
Jasper did not speak either. He stared at her tranquil appearance.
Stella lay for a while but could not fall asleep. She opened her eyes again, looked at Jasper, and asked, "What time is it now?"
Jasper looked at the watch and replied, "It's 5 p.m."
"Ah? I've slept for that long," Stella sat up, fixed her messy hair, and looked at Jasper. "What are we having for dinner tonight?"
"Whatever you like."
"How about pork chop?" Stella asked.
Jasper raised the corner of his mouth slightly and said, "Okay, I have something to do tonight. I may not come over."
"What do you have to do tonight?" Stella asked in a perplexed tone.
Jasper looked at her deeply.
Stella believed that he had some secrets. She raised a smile and said, "You don't have to tell me if it's not convenient."
"Do you still remember when I told you that I was shot at the back of my head and I thought I was going to die?" Jasper asked.
Stella nodded.
"I've found the legendary scientific research organization and got them to operate on me. The condition was that I'll have to help them eliminate Sowter," Jasper explained.
"Sowter? What is that?" Stella was puzzled as she had never heard of the name before.
"It's a mafia organization. They tried to eliminate this scientific research organization, but many of them survived. Those who managed to survive were afraid of being hunted down by Sowter, so they asked me to eliminate the organization," Jasper continued.
"Does Sowter know that you want to eliminate them?" Stella asked with concern.
"They don't. I always wear a mask. Moreover, Sowter has some connections with the local government. Thus, their government would not take any action."
"If Sowter finds out that you're the one who did it, will it affect the country's condition?"
"No, their government also wants to eliminate this organization. They could not do it because Sowter has something that could threaten them. So, it's safer for me to do it."
"You asked someone to protect me just because you're worried that I'll be the first one in danger if your identity is exposed?" Stella asked, trying to guess his intention.
Jasper nodded.
"Is destroying Sowter a thing you must do?" asked Stella.
Jasper nodded again.
"Then do it. But you must be careful. I don't want to see you get hurt."
Holding her head, Jasper kissed her and said, "I wouldn't dare to let myself get hurt since I have you now. When I woke up, I told myself that I will live for you in the future. You will be my priority from now on."
"Make sure you do what you have just promised. You will let nothing happen to you."
"Yes," Jasper nodded his head seriously.
"I'm going to cook. What time are you leaving tonight?" Stella asked.
"10 p.m., I'll be back by tomorrow morning. Have a good rest and don't worry about me. Otherwise, I won't be at ease," Jasper reminded.
He did not want to tell her about this previously because he was afraid that she would be worried and would not be able to sleep well.
After telling her about it, he was still worried that she would not be able to sleep well.
