Chapter 1054 Put On The Armour Again

Bellamy's face was still gloomy when he got to the shore.
His subordinate handed over a towel. He took it and threw it to Waverly. In a cold voice, he said, "Go to the nearest hotel."
He got in the car.
She saw the doctor following them.
She walked towards the front seat and saw her disheveled self in the reflection of the glass window.
Her wig was crooked now. Her makeup was also ruined, which made her look funny.
Without makeup and expensive clothes, she was like a clown. She tidied up her hair and sat in the front seat.
Even though the heating was turned on, she still felt cold and she was shivering. She looked at Bellamy in the rearview mirror.
He leaned back in his chair with his eyes closed. He was drenched and he didn't say a single word.
The doctor was flustered and didn't know what to do.
Two minutes later, they arrived at a hotel nearby.
Bellamy's men handed the room key card to her.
She entered the elevator together with Bellamy.
He looked at the front. He did not look at her, nor did he talk to her. It was as if she was invisible to him.
Her mood gradually calmed down and she looked down.
The elevator stopped at the 21st floor.
She looked at the room key card. It was for room 2108.
Without looking at Bellamy, she entered her room and closed the door. She took off her wet wig and threw it into the trash can.
She went to take a bath first. Her body was frozen and red. She soaked in the warm bathtub. She closed her eyes and tears streamed down her cheek.
Happiness would make people cheerful and playful. Their hearts would also become softer.
Adversity could make people stronger, but her heart was getting colder.
When she was hurt too much, her heart would build a wall and she would put on her invisible armour.
The negotiation had come to an end, and she had no position to stay.
She should leave.
However, if she left, Bellamy would probably feel guilty.
She didn't want him to feel guilty nor did she want his sympathy. Since she had been sacrificed, what else could she do except accept it?
She was so small and insignificant. She was just like dust.
Perhaps, if she died, no one would be sad.
Just like how Bellamy was only angry and disappointed at her behavior.
Her heart was in great affliction. Tears were her only companion.
However, crying was an act of the weak!
She opened her red eyes. Her vision had been cleared.
She got out of the bathtub, wiped herself dry, and changed her clothes. She put on makeup, a new wig and jewelry. She tidied herself in front of the mirror, opened the door and went out.
The opposite room was Bellamy's. There were many guards standing at the entrance.
She walked over and knocked at the door.
There was no sound from the room.
She knocked on the door again.
"Come in," Bellamy said in a low voice.
The guard opened the door and Waverly went in.
He sat up from his bed. Beside him stood a doctor. He should have examined Bellamy.
Waverly smiled, "I'm sorry that you fell in the lake too. Is he alright?"
The question was for the doctor.
The doctor replied respectfully, "He's fine."
"Then, I'm relieved." She looked at Bellamy. When she met his unfathomable gaze, she beamed, "If something happens to you, I'll be guilty. Thank goodness you're fine."
Bellamy sized her up and looked into her eyes.
In the past, her eyes were clear and looked as if they were craving for knowledge. She would actively express her thoughts. It made him willing to teach her everything.
Now, she had concealed too many emotions.
"Waverly, I swear, one day I will let you return in broad daylight," he promised.
She smiled faintly.
She did not believe it anymore. It did not matter if she could not come back. The greater the hope, the greater the disappointment. The more desperate she would be.
She said softly, "It's fine, Bellamy. You should focus on dealing with Beckham. He is a snake. He supported Joseph, but now, he turns to Gollin. He constantly jumps between the two powers. I'm living a good life in M Country now. My uncle is protective of me and I have a stable job in the Department of External Affairs. As you know, Madam Lenny values me. After a long time, everything will be better."
She spoke as if nothing had happened, and everything she said was from his perspective.
However, his heart ached.
Previously, he was arrogant, confident and calculative. After becoming the president, apart from being shrewd, he had hidden everything else.
He disdained to explain. Even if he did something wrong and regretted it, he wouldn't explain it.
That was because he was strong and confident enough, "Waverly, I will definitely let you come back."
She looked at the time, "I can't follow you back to the President's Mansion now. Yasmine has signed the agreement. She should be eager to go back to M Country. She could say that I'm skipping work if I remain. It will be troublesome."
"I've signed the contract. There will be a banquet tomorrow night. She may send the good news back, but she won't leave for the time being. I've arranged for them to stay in the hotel of the Department of External Affairs," he explained.
"Send me to where her hotel is. After all, she's the Deputy Secretary of External Affairs and my immediate superior. If I don't report to her first, she'll definitely cause trouble for me."
Bellamy looked at her for a moment, "I'll send you there now. After reporting to her, I'll take you to the President's Mansion. Marie has already cooked your meal and prepared your room. I'll take you to Snowie Town the next day. I also informed Jasper. He'll be preparing lunch."
She lowered her eyes and her long eyelashes covered the emotions in her eyes. She did not speak.
"Let's go. I'll send you to see Yasmine first," he said. He stood up and walked towards the door.
They got in the car.
Waverly looked out of the window.
She could clearly see the sun shining through the clouds.
A Country was a country with strong culture and history. From time to time, they would pass by historical sites and the view was lovely.
M Country was a modern country. Many people were doing business in the country. As such, many of the buildings were of a modern style.
She preferred A Country, where she once had the warmest of memories.
However, the lovely memories dulled and turned cold. When she thought about going to the President's Mansion, she was no longer as happy and hopeful as she was when she had just gotten off the plane.
"Are you cold?" He asked.
She looked at him and smiled, "No, the temperature is warm."
He looked at her hair, "What's the matter with your hair?"
