Chapter 1105 She Was Incredibly Irritated
Waverly knew that the doctor was saying that out of his kindness.
She indeed had a lot on her mind, but no one else could help her, nor did she need someone else to do so. If she could not solve her problems and her obsession with them worsened, just let it be. Life was short. It was better to go out with a bang than to fade away silently.
"Thank you, doctor. I understand." Waverly said.
"Last night, Mr. Mccarthy didn't sleep a wink. He was taking care of you the entire time. I think that Mr. Mccarthy is quite kind to you. He said that you were diagnosed with an eye disease before. It's better to avoid wearing contact lenses. You might hurt your eyes again," the doctor continued.
"Joseph? He didn't sleep all night? Are you one of his spies that he called over?" Waverly asked suspiciously.
"Huh? No, no." The doctor realized that he had said too much and was afraid of getting into trouble, "Madam, I'll head out first then."
"Okay," Waverly answered.
She suddenly recalled something.
She had arranged to meet the sergeant at the same old place, but after she passed out, she had forgotten to inform him that their meeting was cancelled.
She immediately called the sergeant and said apologetically, "Sorry, I fell into a river yesterday and had a high fever. I fell asleep. When I woke up, it was already the next day. I missed the appointment. I'm so sorry."
"Oh, it doesn't matter. Coincidentally, I had something to do yesterday and wanted to call you to delay our meeting until today. Your friend answered the phone call. He said that you were having a cold and fell asleep. Do you feel better today?" the sergeant asked.
"Much better. My fever has subsided and I don't have a cold. Thank you for your concern."
"Are you free today? How about I treat you to dinner tonight?"
"Thank you, but I might not have the time. If I have the time, I will call you again and invite you for dinner. If that doesn't work out, when you come to M Country in the future, you must call me. I will welcome you and your family with open arms," Waverly said politely.
"Okay, you may take your time. I have something to do here," the sergeant politely said and hung up on the call.
Waverly went out. She wanted to ask Boris to have dinner with her, but Joshua came.
"Mr. Mccarthy is waiting for you in the car. He wants you to go with him," Joshua said reluctantly, not looking straight at Waverly's face. He was deliberately glancing at the top of her head.
Waverly gave him a smile, "He might let you marry me."
"What?" Joshua's voice was sharp. He widened his eyes and looked at Waverly. He was in a state of panic and unease.
"Originally, Yadriel was supposed to marry me, but I tried my best to recommend you instead. Yadriel's personality is too cold and he's too quiet. We don't have any common topics to talk about. Spending a day together with him feels like spending a year instead. It's more comfortable to be with you. In the blink of an eye, the day would pass," Waverly said deliberately.
"Hurry up and reject this marriage. I don't want to marry you," Joshua said anxiously. "Mr. Mccarthy won't really let me marry you, will he? Hurry up and stop making him angry. Can't you just get along with him? Mr. Mccarthy came to Mexiland just for you. Instead of being grateful, you want to piss him off even more."
"Your boss is heartless. You have followed him for so many years, so don't you know that?" Waverly said with a smile, looking around to search for Boris.
"Humph, that's because you often make Mr. Mccarthy angry. He used to be very good-tempered and rarely got agitated. He treated his subordinates, friends and many people very well."
Waverly looked at him and asked, "Are you sure that the person you are talking about is the same Joseph I know?"
"You're so fortunate, but you don't realize you are. When the day comes when Mr. Mccarthy doesn't want you anymore, you can go and cry a river."
Waverly was certain that Boris was not around, an abnormal occurrence. Previously, Boris had still been at the door protecting her. She asked, "Where is Boris?"
"In the car," Joshua said in a strange tone.
"Let's make a deal. I know that you don't like to see me. If there is anything you need to tell me in the future, you just need to tell Boris about it. He will be my subordinate in the future. He will convey Joseph's orders, lest you come all the way here in vain. Okay?" Waverly joked.
"Humph," Joshua made a loud noise and walked towards the elevator.
Waverly followed and rode the elevator down. Joshua took Waverly to a long Lincoln limousine and respectfully opened the door for her.
Joseph had already started to drink his coffee in the car while Boris was sitting opposite him.
He glanced at her, "You never listen to me. Who gave you confidence to think that you're not going to die?"
"I have you. What is there for me to be afraid of?" Waverly said and sat next to Boris.
Joseph's face suddenly darkened, "Why are you sitting there?"
Waverly decided not to defy him anymore. She sat next to him and held his arm, but her gaze was calm when she looked at him, "When Yasmine appears, I'll sit next to you like this and wait for you to drive me away."
"If you have the guts to sit like this, then I have the guts to let you sit firmly. I'm just afraid that you will chicken out and scram first," Joseph said with a strange tone.
"Then, why don't you see whether I'll go away?" Waverly raised her smile provocatively.
The car started up.
She was ready to let go of Joseph, but as soon as she let go, Joseph grabbed her by the wrist.
"What's wrong?" Waverly asked.
"Let's continue to hug like this," Joseph ordered.
"I'm hot," Waverly said and shook him off.
The corners of his mouth curled up and he said to the driver, "Turn up the air conditioner."
Waverly was speechless.
"Why is it that your mind is the same as that of a three-year-old? Why hasn't your thinking matured at all?" Waverly complained.
Joseph grabbed Waverly's cheeks and pulled her to his side.
He finally felt that they had returned to their youth.
The arrogant and unruly Waverly had a clear-cut personality. She was aggressive, fearless, confident, provocative and unyielding. She was so arrogant that she would enrage Joseph to no end. Finally, she was back to being the lively person he knew. She was no longer the President's wife who Bellamy had taught. She was no longer the deep and gloomy President's wife who suppressed her true personality in her heart. Seeing her that way had always made him uncomfortable and unhappy.
A smile appeared on Joseph's face and he kissed her on the lips. It was a chaste, yet passionate kiss.
Waverly was a little confused.
Although she had called him childish, he was still so happy!
Was there something wrong with his brain?
She wiped the corners of her mouth a little uneasily. Remembering that there were still people around, she subconsciously glanced at Boris.
Reading the room, Boris kept his head down.
Waverly wanted to brush off her hair on the side of her ear. When she touched the hair on the side of her ear, she suddenly remembered that she had a crew cut.
Since she had already touched that spot, she pretended to scratch her head.
Joseph's eyes narrowed and a smile appeared on his face.
All of Waverly's little tricks were ingrained in her brain.
He smiled ecstatically and rubbed Waverly's head, "You don't have hair anymore, so you're not used to it. You can't push your hair behind your ears anymore because you don't have hair."
Waverly was at a loss for words.
There was a piece of advice that reminded people to not quickly highlight other people's weaknesses as that was the quickest way of exposing one's own weaknesses.
However, Joseph seemed to have never heard of that sentence! Once he saw her imperfections, he would be the first to expose them!
