Chapter 1117 Do You Know About This Or Not?
"Mr. Mccarthy doesn't allow me to mention this matter. Forget it, I don't want him to be angry. Don't ask any more questions. There is no benefit in knowing so much. I'll go out first to deal with what Mr. Mccarthy has ordered me to do," Joshua said, turned around and walked towards the door.
......
In the afternoon, Waverly visited the personnel of the Department of External Affairs according to the schedule. She visited their museum, watched Mexiland's dance performances and thought about negotiating with Thomas. While watching the play, she felt uneasy.
Her cell phone rang and she saw that the caller was Joseph, so she answered.
"Have you made an appointment with Thomas?" Joseph asked.
"I don't have any way to contact Thomas. After dinner, I'll go with the people from the Department of External Affairs. When the time comes, I'll ask them if anyone knows him," Waverly said.
"The Department of External Affairs and the Resources Department are two independent and unrelated departments. It's a bit difficult for you to ask the Department of External Affairs, unless you knew the head of that department. He knows many people, including those in the Resources Department. However, the person welcoming you probably won't be the head of the Department of External Affairs," said Joseph.
"It's okay. I can ask the staff for his contact information. It's also a good thing for them if we insist on cooperation."
"Have you forgotten what I told you before?" Joseph said.
"Are you referring to the special methods you mentioned? Tricking people using my beauty?" Waverly asked.
Joseph's voice became a little gloomy, "You're looking for death."
"Even if I use my beauty, I won't go in person. I've already asked Agnes to find me a suitable candidate to go in my stead," Waverly said calmly.
"Listen, I'll teach you this only once. If you can master this, you'll benefit from it. However, if you can't, I'll have to clean up the mess for you," Joseph said.
"What is it?"
"As I told you before, silver can be used by the Mccarthy family. I can open a company to make products out of silver and export it to other countries or market it locally. However, these matters cannot be exposed to the public. Do you understand?" Joseph deliberately chose to word his sentence vaguely.
"I understand. I've seen the price list you gave me before. I can increase the price of silver. The condition is that the price of oil has to be reduced to ten percent of the price before. That way, I can explain things to the insiders and you can maintain your image," Waverly understood.
"Correct. I see you've connected the dots with just a few points. I'll give you Thomas' phone number later. I have to return tonight. If you can't handle it by yourself, you can call me," said Joseph.
When she heard that he was leaving, she felt a strange and indescribable feeling in her heart.
She hoped that he would leave, so that she would have enough freedom. However, when he left, she felt uneasy, as if she had no one else to rely on.
It was not a good feeling.
"I'm going to have dinner with the personnel of the Department of External Affairs. I estimate that I won't be able to come back at 8 o'clock, so I can't see you off. Have a safe journey," Waverly said calmly.
"Since I'm leaving, are you happy or sad?" asked Joseph. The corners of his mouth were lifted up, as if he knew everything but didn't care about it at all.
"I will go back to M Country after finishing my work here. I will see you soon. I'm not sad, I'm happy," Waverly replied.
Joseph squinted his eyes and looked into the distance with a cold expression. He murmured, "Aren't you sad?"
Waverly sighed in her heart. She probably knew the answer Joseph wanted, so she said again, "I'm not sad. You're a person who knows what you want and also knows what you should do. You must have something to do when you head back."
Joseph was still unhappy, "Should I say that you're generous or that you don't understand how the world works?"
"I'm sad," Waverly said without a care.
"Ha," Joseph sneered and hung up on the call immediately.
She couldn't say she wasn't sad, nor could she say that she was sad!
She had no idea what answer Joseph wanted to hear, so she put away her cell phone and returned back into the place where the play was being acted out.
Her phone rang with a notification. It was a message from Joseph about Thomas' phone number and landline.
Waverly sent a text message to Joseph and said, "Thank you."
Joseph didn't respond to her.
After the performance, Waverly had time to rest. The personnel of the Department of External Affairs came over and asked, "Which hotel are you staying at?"
Waverly paused.
Her suitcase was still with Joseph. She didn't know where it was either.
"What's wrong?" Waverly asked with a smile.
"I'll treat you to dinner tonight. We still have two hours to rest. I'll take you back to the hotel," the receptionist said.
"Hold on for a minute," Waverly called Joseph. He had mentioned that he would leave at 8 o'clock in the evening, so he should still be there at the moment.
He answered the phone call and asked lazily, "What's wrong?"
"My luggage. Is it still with you?"
"Call your subordinate." After Joseph finished speaking, he hung up on the tone strangely.
Waverly called Boris and asked, "Boris, do you have my luggage?"
"Yes. Ten minutes ago, Joseph's subordinate came to me. According to him, Joseph didn't seem to be very happy. The reason seemed to be you. What happened?" Boris asked in confusion.
"He's leaving ahead of schedule. He asked me whether I was sad or happy."
"Did you answer that you were happy?" Boris asked in surprise.
"No, because if I told him that I was happy, according to Joseph's character, he would definitely get angry. I said that I would go back in a few days. It didn't matter if I was happy or sad," Waverly explained.
"Men need to be coaxed, especially Joseph, because he cares about your thoughts a lot. In the future, you should just tell him what he wants to listen to. If he is happy, it will bring you good," Boris suggested.
"If I was good at pleasing others, I wouldn't have become so miserable now," Waverly lowered her eyes and sighed.
"As long as you want to change, it's not too late. The real problem lies in you not changing. If you continue to act like this, all of this will be a waste of your time."
"Fine," Waverly replied. "Take my luggage and go to Mahaba Hotel. I used to stay there before. Go and book three rooms. I'll head there now. Let's talk about it when we meet later." Waverly hung up on the call after that.
She said to the receptionist, "I'm staying at Mahaba Hotel. Just send me there."
"Then, I'll pick you up at seven o'clock," the receptionist said.
"Alright."
On the way there, Waverly received the room number sent by Boris.
She took Agnes back to her room. Boris stood at the door and said to Waverly, "He's here."
Waverly looked at the time on her watch. She could rest for two hours. Joseph's plane would also take off by then.
She opened the door and went in. Joseph was sitting on the sofa and playing with his mobile phone. When he knew that she came in, he did not raise his head, but instead continued playing the game with his lips pursed.
Waverly did not call out to him. She grabbed the clothes in the suitcase and went to take a bath.
When Joseph saw Waverly going into the bathroom and heard the sound of the door locking, he frowned and looked at the bathroom, looking even more upset. He threw his cell phone aside and leaned coldly against the sofa.
When Waverly came out of the bathroom, she heard him say coldly, "Bellamy also came to Mexiland. Do you know about this or not? Or did the two of you arrange to meet beforehand?"
