Chapter 1107 When Pigs Fly

With a smile on his face, Joseph shouted at the people upstairs, "Have you all slept last night?"
"No!" the people above shouted together, their voices loud and deafening.
"Have you all had dinner today?" Joseph asked again.
"No!" the people above shouted again.
Satisfied, Joseph looked at Waverly and said, "They have not slept for 72 hours. The last meal that they ate was at 8 o'clock last night. Do you still think this is unfair to Boris or to my staff? Besides, this is just a friendly competition. What are you worried about? Boris was bought at a price of 5 million dollars, so I won't destroy him so casually."
Joseph raised his head with a smile.
Seeing his smug look, Waverly thought that he would definitely destroy Boris at will.
It made sense. After all, he had money since the Thunder Gun had been sold for three billion dollars.
Unfortunately, this was also his territory.
Boris took part in the second round of fighting.
This man was obviously much stronger than the previous one, but his agility was not as good. However, his strength was stronger and he fought quite cautiously. They fought for half an hour, punched and kicked each other, but there was no clear victory or defeat.
"This is rank 99?" Joseph said playfully.
Perhaps it was Joseph's words which distracted Boris' opponent a little, and he was punched at the chin by Boris, falling straight to the ground.
Waverly breathed a sigh of relief.
"Get ready, Rank 98," Joseph said.
Waverly, who was relaxed, became nervous again. She said to Boris, "I don't need you to show your strength now. In such an endless fight, your physical strength will be exhausted and you will lose eventually. It's better to admit defeat now. A real man knows when to yield and endure the humiliation. It doesn't matter."
"Admit defeat? Ha," Joseph laughed and looked at Waverly with an even colder gaze. "If he admits defeat, then we'll beat him to death. All of you line up and beat him up one by one."
"Joseph, what do you want? I was the one who made you unhappy. If you're upset, just come at me!" Waverly said angrily.
He had said 'one by one' , but there were still so many people present. Boris would definitely be beaten to death.
"Since I am not in a good mood right now, of course I have to let you suffer for a bit. Boris is just unlucky that he is your subordinate. If he calls me his master now, I will let him live," Joseph said faintly. He put his legs on the calacatta table in front of him, making him look rather lazy and carefree.
Waverly looked at Boris with teary eyes.
Boris was calm. Instead, he came over to comfort Waverly and said, "It's okay. Since you have bought me, my life is yours. Although I have to die so miserably, there will always be such an accident in life. I have already died once. It doesn't matter. If you can't bear it, you can just turn away and not look."
Waverly was even more unwilling to let Boris die in vain because of her.
She bought Boris not only because Boris was a talented person, but also because she respected him. She admired his character and pitied his past.
She clenched her fists. Her nails dug into her flesh and her eyes were misty. She took a deep breath, looked at Joseph and said, "I'm sorry, I was wrong. Please let me and Boris go."
Joseph's expression was frozen and he asked seriously, "What did you do wrong?"
"Bellamy said that he liked me. I asked him, can we still go back to the way we used to be? I know we can't go back. We will never go back," Waverly emphasized the last sentence and held back her tears.
"Then, why are you crying right now?" Joseph asked.
She touched her face, which was wet, "I feel wronged. I thought you were my only pillar of support, but it seems that I can't rely on you too. What you gave me will be taken away in an instant. In the end, there will be nothing left, won't it?"
"Are you sure you think that I'm the only person you can rely on? Or have you never planned to rely on someone else from the very beginning?" said Joseph coldly as he scrutinized her. His gaze was like an X-ray as he looked at her in a cold and dispassionate manner.
"What do you think I can do other than rely on you?" Waverly retorted.
"Are you going to rely on me for the rest of your life or do you want to use me as your stepping stone to go further?" asked Joseph.
His questions were getting sharper and sharper.
"How long can I rely on you? You are the one who can make that decision. It is always you that has the full authority to decide everything. I am just a measly ant," Waverly replied calmly.
"You really think so? Good," Joseph raised the corners of his mouth, but his eyes were still cold.
Waverly was just playing a verbal game with him. Such a quibble Would only tell him that she would at most regard him as a stepping stone and that she had no plans to depend on him for a lifetime at all.
He looked at the people upstairs, his anger not dissipating. He waved his hand and said, "Go and play. I will give you all a half-day leave today. Each of you, take ten thousand dollars out and come back when you have spent it. Remember, don't cause trouble for me."
"Long live Mr. Mccarthy!" the crowd burst into an uproar.
"Within 3 seconds, disappear out of my sight completely," Joseph ordered.
Waverly saw people carrying the drum, some carrying a shelf while others a railing. The curtain on the upper floor was also pulled down.
One, two, three.
Those people disappeared in a flash and their surroundings quieted down as well, as if those people were never here.
"Let's eat. I'm hungry," Joseph said and walked out. When he passed by Waverly, he didn't look at her, but his demeanor was coated with iciness.
He went out and got in the car.
Waverly went to help Boris up and asked worriedly, "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine. Thank you."
"You don't have to thank me. You're the one who got hurt because of me."
"You don't like him, do you?" Boris asked.
A hint of sadness flashed by Waverly's eyes quickly. It was incredibly fleeting, so no one could notice it.
She said in a low voice, "People like me don't have the right to like others. You're the same. It's just that our circumstances are different. This kind of situation will happen often in the future. Joseph's character is unpredictable, so we can only be careful. You should also be careful not to have conflicts with him. There are so many subordinates who have learnt martial arts around him, so we can't win against him in terms of fighting."
Boris nodded, "I understand. Let's go back and talk about this later. All the people here are his."
"Okay," Waverly answered.
Boris took Waverly's hand. He and Joseph were both men, so he could see that Joseph's possessiveness toward her was strong. It was so strong that there might be some unknown feelings intertwined in it, which needed to be looked into.
After all, it was difficult to understand Joseph's thoughts.
When Waverly went out, she saw the girl sitting next to Joseph.
The corners of Waverly's mouth twitched as it was quite ironic. When they were on the way to the place, Joseph had said that the position next to him belonged to her. It had only been a few hours since he had said that.
