When Mary heard about this, her eyes stayed on William.
‘Is it him? Probably not,’ she pondered.
Mary quickly dismissed the thought. ‘A billion-dollar investment? Even if William's parents ran Polaris Sky Restaurant, they can’t have that much money to invest.’
Roy was now extremely excited, following the middle-aged man. He took his children through the entire courtyard, ready to see who Mr. Jones was.
Wade happened to pass by William and said mockingly, "Oh, Grandpa Roy, isn't there a Mr. Jones here? Could it be him?"
This was obviously intentional by Wade.
‘It will be impressive if William, this loser, can come up with ten thousand dollars. A billion? Impossible,’ Wade thought.
Daniel heard this and immediately laughed contemptuously. "Wade, this Mr. Jones is not that Mr. Jones. This one looks like a garbage collector."
Everyone heard this and burst into laughter.
Margaret followed behind, her face darkened, not wanting to say anything. She didn't want to deal with it.
If anyone was embarrassed, it was William.
