Chapter 436 Sarah Gets Kidnapped
The call connected.
Leander, all serious, barked, "William, let Sterling go. Now."
William just chuckled, "Not a chance."
Leander, in a car speeding like a bat outta hell, kept his cool but his voice was ice, "William, Sterling's the big cheese at the Medical Association. Messing with him means you're messing with us. And your wife's company will also pay the price."
William laughed, eyes cold as ice, "Leander, you crossed BK Pharmaceuticals. That makes you my enemy. Get ready to be crushed."
Leander's face turned red with rage, "William, you're playing with fire. I'm the top dog at the Medical Association in Celestia. You're pissing off the wrong people!"
William sneered, "So what? Medical Association? Big deal. If it goes down, another one will pop up. Don't think you're all that."
Leander was fuming, fists clenched tight. He took a deep breath, trying to chill out.
He'd come all the way from Sunshine Bay City to Lindwood City to sort this mess out.
With a faint smile, he said, "Let's talk. I'm almost in Lindwood City. We can meet."
But William shot him down, "No need. I don't waste words on enemies. Let's cut to the chase. You wanna save Sterling?"
Leander, still smiling, said, "You know why I'm here. Release Sterling, and I'll cancel the revocation of BK Pharmaceuticals' business license."
William, grinning with Alan and the crew behind him, said, "Too late. I have already handed over the evidence of Sterling's crimes to the authorities. You're outta luck, Leander."
Leander, stern as ever, warned, "William, name your terms. I'll meet them, but you gotta let Sterling off."
William scoffed, "You're full of yourself. But I'm not a pushover. Don't believe me? Try me."
Leander, desperate, threatened, "William, aren't you worried about your daughter's safety?"
William's voice turned icy, "Threaten me? Especially with my daughter? Big mistake. Let's see if you can still talk big later!"
Before Leander could say more, the call ended abruptly.
Furious, he hurled his phone, roaring, "Fuck! William, you bastard! You'll regret this!"
Leander's ego was shattered. No one had ever talked to him like that. William was the first. Just a nobody, acting all high and mighty.
The car screeched to a halt, and Leander stormed out, face twisted with anger. He glared at a tall, burly guy beside him and ordered, "Theron, grab that little girl, no matter what!"
Theron stood there, radiating a cold vibe, eyes full of murderous intent.
He was Leander's right hand man, a former mercenary.
"Leander, don't worry. I'll take care of it," he replied.
After hanging up, William called George, "I need the lowdown on the Medical Association and Leander."
In ten minutes, the info was in his hands.
As William skimmed through the docs, his frown deepened, eyes turning deadly.
"Leander's got some serious tricks, way tougher than Sterling and Garth," William muttered.
Patricia and Alan each had a copy too.
Patricia chimed in, "This guy's done a ton of shady stuff and still walks free. He's got a crew backing him. Mr. Jones, he has been manipulating market deals and crushing other companies. There's gotta be dirt on him. If we find it, he's toast!"
William nodded. His frown deepened when he saw that multiple Leander had been involved in multiple kidnappings.
Alan and Patricia saw it too, remembering the recent call.
Alan said, "Mr. Jones, I'll go guard Sarah right now."
William stopped him, "No need."
He picked up the phone and called Benjamin, "Head to the villa and bring Sarah to the hospital."
"Got it," Benjamin replied, hung up, and took off.
Patricia looked at William, worried, "Mr. Jones."
She wasn't concerned about William's safety; she knew he had good fighting skills.
But if anything happened to his daughter, it would be catastrophic.
William smiled, eyes cold and sinister, "Leander's got some nerve."
Sarah was his line in the sand.
Anyone who crossed it would pay dearly.
Did the Medical Association really think they were all-powerful?
Meanwhile, Lucy was playing with Sarah in a nearby park.
For the past couple of days, Lucy had been glued to the news, worried about Mary.
While she was with Sarah, a few burly guys approached.
"Hey, we're friends of William. We're here to pick up Sarah," the leader said, smiling and patting Sarah's head as she munched on her cake.
Lucy asked, "William's friends? Let me call and check."
Just as she picked up her phone, a sharp pain hit her neck, and she blacked out.
Sarah, scared, tried to run, but the man grabbed her and covered her mouth.
Within seconds, Sarah was out cold.
"Let's go!" the man ordered, and they quickly hauled Sarah to a black van.
The van sped off.
Ten minutes later, Benjamin, who had just left the villa, found Lucy unconscious in the park.
His face turned icy as he called William, "Sir, Sarah's been taken."
William went silent, then pulled out a document, "Find Theron. I'll have Alan back you up."
Benjamin nodded.
He knew William was beyond pissed.
The Medical Association had crossed William's line, and there was only one outcome: death!
