Chapter 349 Margaret's Decision
Jessica calmly watched them, still teasing the Persian cat in her arms. She smiled faintly and said, "William, why are you so angry?"
William stood in the hall, accompanied by Alan and around forty to fifty handpicked bodyguards in black suits.
However, even with these people, Alan still felt a bit uneasy as he could tell that the guards of Cloud Peak Manor were all specially trained!
To these people, beating up his men was a breeze.
But even so, Alan would still follow William without hesitation.
"Jessica, are you pretending not to know?" William questioned, his face frosty, his eyes fierce, staring at Jessica.
Jessica put down her cat, then elegantly stood up, crossing her arms, her fingers adorned with diamond rings.
With a warm smile, she said, "William, after all, I am your mother. Is this how you talk to me?"
"Jessica, we both know the truth. There's no need to put on an act for me," William sneered coldly, his anger gradually rising.
He never liked Jessica, not even as a child.
Jessica was too scheming and too vicious.
She could even kill her own son. All she cared about was fame and fortune!
Jessica raised an eyebrow and said, "William, the BK Pharmaceuticals matter has nothing to do with me. It was Evander's idea."
William had already anticipated her response, a sinister smile appearing on his lips as he said, "Do you think I'll believe you just because you say so?"
"Believe it or not," Jessica said coldly.
The guards behind her stared menacingly at William and his men.
Zoe, meanwhile, had her hand behind her back, ready to draw her gun and shoot!
William frowned, not expecting Jessica to be so tough.
"Jessica, are you pushing my limits?" William asked icily, his eyes blazing with anger.
As he spoke, Alan and the others behind him tensed up, ready for battle!
They absolutely could not let William get hurt, even if it meant their total annihilation!
This was what Alan had told his men before they set out!
"Limits? Do you even have limits?" Jessica mocked with a sneer, her eyes full of ridicule.
She continued, "William, you've been away from the family for seven years. Do you know what happened at home during those seven years? You've been staying in this small town with Mary and Sarah. Everything could have remained peaceful, but you used the family's power without permission and even gained the status of an heir!"
Her eyebrows twitched with anger as she said, "I will never allow such a thing to happen! The Jones family doesn't need you! As long as I'm here, it will belong to the Miller family!"
As soon as she finished speaking, the entire hall and its surroundings were quickly surrounded by her guards!
Jessica coldly stared at William and said, "I've tolerated you many times because your father told me not to harm you. But you keep provoking me. I am a member of the Jones family, your father's wife! How dare you?"
"Are you scared? You are Mario's son. Didn't you think about what would happen if you brought so many people to my place?" Jessica declared, her face indifferent as she looked at the silent William, her heart filled with coldness.
Jessica thought that William was too young, and that his anger was clouding his judgment.
The entire manor, a fortress wholly controlled by Jessica, was filled with Miller family members, as William's narrowed eyes quickly observed.
So, the Noble Command couldn't be used here.
Indeed, Jessica was not easy to deal with.
"Jessica, do you really think I'm a fool, easily blinded by anger?" William sneered, lifting his head to coldly stare at Jessica.
"Aren't you?" Jessica mocked.
She laughed and said, "Thirteen years ago, wasn't it your impulsiveness that caused your sister to lose her life?"
"Shut up! You have no right to mention her!" William suddenly roared, fury surging through him like a tempest.
This anger was more intense and terrifying than ever before!
To William, Ellie was as untouchable a subject as his mother, Aurora.
Jessica had no right to mention them.
Jessica's face was cold, her lips curling into an undisguised sneer as she said, "Look at you. You're still the same. And you say you're not blinded by anger?"
"William, just come back with me. Since our agreement is void, I won't show you any mercy. Imprisoning you is the best choice. If you dare to resist, I believe Mary and Sarah will suffer even more," Jessica threatened, feeling dominant.
However, William's expression changed, and he wore an inscrutable cold smile. "Jessica, do you really think I came unprepared?" he said coldly.
Jessica's face changed upon hearing this.
Just then, Zoe handed a phone to Jessica and said, "Madam, it's a call from the family."
Jessica answered, and immediately a desperate cry came from the other end, "Jessica, save me! Save me! I don't want to die."
"William! How dare you!!" Jessica snapped.
She instantly understood. The voice on the phone was none other than her nephew, Quentin Miller!
He was the most beloved child of the Miller family and also the most troublesome.
The Miller family had cleaned up many of his messes.
Suddenly, the situation reversed.
William looked silently at Jessica and said, "Jessica, now it's my turn to set the terms. Quentin is currently on the top floor of a building, 600 feet high. If he falls, he'll be smashed to pieces."
Jessica clenched her fists in anger and said, "What are your terms?"
'Damn it!' Jessica cursed inwardly. She had been careless, not expecting William to be so prepared!
But how did the Miller family let someone take Quentin?
There was only one explanation!
William had a master in fighting.
Half an hour later, William left Cloud Peak Manor.
However, before leaving, he walked up to Jessica.
In the next second, a crisp slap echoed in the hall!
Jessica looked at William in disbelief, her eyes wide with shock, covering her cheek, her expression already changed.
William had slapped her!
"This slap is for Ellie! If you dare mention her name in front of me again, I won't spare you or your family!" William said coldly, his eyes reflecting an icy glare.
Then, he swaggered out of Cloud Peak Manor, leaving Jessica standing in the hall, stunned.
After William left, she angrily sat on the sofa, smashing many priceless items.
"Damn you, William! I will make you regret this!" Jessica shouted in anger.
It was William, a loser, who had slapped her for the first time in her life!
"What's the situation with Margaret? Haven't you found an opportunity to act yet?" Jessica asked angrily.
Zoe stepped forward and said, "Madam, why don't we target Mary's baby? Mary is currently hospitalized with a threatened miscarriage and needs to be on bed rest."
Jessica frowned. She didn't want to target Mary's baby unless it was absolutely necessary.
She understood the consequences of such an action.
However, tonight, William's actions had made her very angry.
"Do it discreetly," Jessica finally said, then walked out of the hall with a cold expression.
Meanwhile, Margaret was at the hospital with Mary.
Suddenly, she received a call. Seeing the caller ID, she was terrified—it was Zoe.
She was so scared that she was at a loss.
After a while, she met Zoe in the hallway.
Zoe, dressed in black leather, crossed her arms and spoke coldly, "Margaret, Jessica wants you to ensure the death of Mary's baby. With her on bed rest, any minor mishap could result in a miscarriage, and you wouldn't be suspected."
Margaret, terrified, stammered, "Zoe, this isn't right. Mary is my daughter, after all. If I do this, I'll be punished!"
She was scared.
How could she harm her own daughter?
Previously, she had completely looked down on William, which was why she intended to force Mary into terminating her pregnancy.
But now, William had changed, and she had somewhat accepted him.
Zoe slapped her and said coldly, "Margaret, remember, Jessica wants an answer within three days, or you're toast!"
With that, Zoe left.
Margaret stood alone in the hallway, pacing back and forth in anxiety.
She was scared. Especially when she thought of Jessica, she felt a deep-seated fear.
After much deliberation, she made up her mind and took a cab back to the villa, retrieving the last packet of medicine from a drawer.
Just then, Tyler came back and saw Margaret hurrying out. He asked, "Where are you going?"
"To the hospital. Mary is having a threatened miscarriage," Margaret said. Then she was lost in thought as she hurried Tyler toward the hospital.
This way, Tyler could testify that she hadn't done anything.
When explaining later, she could say that despite their best efforts, they couldn't save the baby. After all, the doctor had said that tonight was crucial.
Anything could happen.
Tyler, hearing that Mary had a threatened miscarriage, was panicked and trembling with anger as he learned the details!
At the hospital, while Tyler was with Mary, Margaret brought a cup of warm water to the bedside, smiling and showing concern. "Mary, get up and drink some water. It's good for the baby."
