Chapter 366 The Price Family
At some point, Harper had already appeared behind William.
Her voice was so sweet and seductive that any man would fall for it.
William turned his head and saw the cold and stunning Harper, arms crossed, looking at him with a smile.
Harper was truly beautiful!
In this bar at night, under the colorful lights, she was surrounded by an enchanting allure.
"I'm a married man," William said, glancing at the woman he had just driven away. He then said to Harper, "But if it were you, I might consider it."
He was just talking big, trying to see what Harper was up to.
Harper's frequent attempts to seduce him made it clear that the Price family was eager to expand their market.
"Wishful thinking," Harper said, patting William on the shoulder. Then she sat down next to him, picked up the glass on the table, and took a sip, not minding that William had already drunk from it.
"Harper, don't you mind that I drank from this?" William mumbled.
"No. Do you care?" Harper said, looking at him with disdain.
William shrugged, leaned back on the sofa, and asked, "Is this your bar?"
Harper nodded and said, "Yes, I opened it two years ago. What do you think? Business has been thriving, hasn't it?"
William nodded appreciatively and said, "It's good. But the name of the bar isn't very appealing."
"Shut up!" Harper snapped, glaring at William.
William, feeling uninterested, asked, "So, what do you want? It's not just about drinking, is it?"
"Can't I just look for you without a reason?" Harper said, looking at William sideways, a smile on her face.
William didn't mind, looking at the swaying men and women in the bar, especially the women dancing on the poles in the center of the dance floor. He suddenly turned his head and asked, "Can you dance?"
Harper looked at William coldly and asked, "Do you want to see me dance?"
William nodded in agreement and said, "If you can dance for a man like me who lives off women, that would be quite interesting."
"No," Harper refused directly.
She added, "If you want to see, I can arrange a private room for you with a couple of women who can dance better than them."
"Alright, how about ten women? That would be great," William said with a meaningful smile.
Harper glanced at William with disdain and said, "You wish. This is a legitimate bar, no shady services here. If you're looking for that kind of entertainment, try the place next door. They've got all sorts of fancy services. I can talk to the owner and get you a deal, maybe half off."
"That's no fun. I'd rather have a one-night stand with that woman from earlier. At least she has a great body," William said and shrugged.
William didn't see Harper as the naive type. On the contrary, he knew that Harper was more savvy about relationships than anyone else.
"Too bad, she's a regular here, always hooking up with men. I don't know what she saw in you," Harper said, looking William up and down, her eyes filled with a teasing smile as she pointed to the woman from earlier, who was now whispering with a chubby middle-aged man.
"Wow, so bold. Are all girls this open nowadays?" William sighed helplessly and took a sip of his drink.
"Bold? You have the nerve to call her bold? What are you thinking about all day? Didn't you just want to watch pole dancing?" Harper teased William.
William stared at her, noticing she was glared at him, and asked, "Why are you looking at me like that?"
Harper snorted coldly, "You know what you've done!"
She held a grudge about that night in the hotel.
'Damn it, do I really have no charm?' Harper thought.
She couldn't even win over William.
William was a bit confused. Harper's mood changed so quickly, she was indeed unpredictable!
"Harper, how did I offend you?" William asked, puzzled.
Harper glared at him, gritting her teeth.
They sat for a while longer, then Harper stood up and suggested, "Let's go somewhere else. You can't see the whole bar from here."
William stood up, nodded, and agreed, "Okay, but get me a few more of these drinks."
He pointed to the special cocktail on the table.
The bartenders were surprised to see their boss heading upstairs with a stranger.
Who was that man?
Harper had a private booth in the bar where she would go whenever she was in a bad mood.
It was on the second floor near the window, offering a view of the most bustling night scene in Linwood City and a look down at the lively crowd dancing and partying in the bar.
Harper rarely came by, so the booth was usually empty, always reserved for her by the bar staff.
"I didn't expect being a boss to come with such perks," William said, amazed.
If he owned a bar, his private booth would be made of glass and placed right in the center of the stage. This way, he could be surrounded by beautiful dancers and fully enjoy their performances.
But that was just a thought.
"Do you really want to be a boss?" Harper asked.
Then she sneered, "Don't be deceived by the glamorous facade. Being a boss involves a lot of worries. It's not as simple as you think."
William nodded in agreement.
As they reached the second floor and headed toward the private booth, they saw a group of young men and women already there, drinking and fooling around!
When Harper saw them, her face fell, and her expression turned cold, a hint of anger rising within her.
William also saw them and understood why Harper was so angry. He took a few steps forward, standing beside Harper.
"Who let them up here?" Harper coldly asked, her voice tinged with anger.
A nearby bartender, now trembling with fear, hurried over with his head down. He knew that was Harper's private booth, and now that it was occupied, Harper was naturally furious.
If she pursued the matter, he might get fired!
However, those people were not easy to deal with either, especially the leader, who was arrogant and domineering. As a lowly bartender, he couldn't afford to offend him. He had tried to stop them but got slapped a few times and didn't dare to intervene further!
"Miss Price, I'm sorry, I couldn't stop them. I told them it was your spot, but they wouldn't listen and even beat me up. I was afraid things would escalate, so I..."
Upon hearing this, William frowned, and Harper's face grew even darker.
"Sorry, I'll go make them leave right now," the bartender said, knowing that he had messed it and trying to make amends.
"Alright, you can go now. It's not your fault," Harper said, her eyes coldly fixed on the group laughing and playing in the booth.
Meanwhile, the group also noticed Harper and William standing there. The leader, with a pair of sinister eyes, looked at them with a playful and disdainful expression.
William frowned and whispered in Harper's ear, "Still want to sit there?"
"No. Let's go," Harper said, turning to leave.
William understood that she didn't want any interaction with those people.
They must know each other and have a grudge.
Sometimes you wanted to avoid trouble, but certain people were just asking for it!
As Harper pulled William to leave, the smug man stood up and shouted provocatively, "Isn't this my pretty sister? Do you have time to come and play? Oh, and you brought a gigolo with you," the man taunted.
William turned to look at Harper.
Harper silently stared at the man, her eyes filled with disdain and hatred!
That man was Endymion Price, her brother and also the heir to the Price family branch.
Since childhood, Endymion disliked Harper because they were half-siblings.
To be precise, Endymion's mother, Audrey Pemberton, was the one who drove away Harper's mother, Brooklyn Quimby.
So, Harper and Endymion hated and competed with each other since young.
William watched Endymion's performance without a word.
