Chapter 130 Roy's Fury
William was taken aback, unsure of how to explain.
He said, "Mary, trust me, I will tell you some day. I have something difficult to tell you."
William really wanted to tell Mary, but reality wouldn't allow it.
Jessica was still in Lindwood City, and he hadn't figured out what Jessica was up to.
Jessica would never let William off so easily, nor his most cherished Mary and Sarah.
So, William had no choice.
As soon as he finished speaking, Mary sneered and said, "Fine, keep your secrets. Sarah's surgery is tomorrow, and I don't want to argue with you today."
With that, Mary turned around, tears rolling in her eyes. She left with Sarah in her arms.
William watched Mary walk away, with Sarah reaching out to him from her shoulder.
He would tell Mary the truth definitely. That day won't be far off.
Once he solved all the problems, he would rightfully and grandly bring you and Sarah back to the Jones family.
Meanwhile, after leaving the restaurant, Susan returned to the hotel. She sat alone on the carpet, drinking wine, completely intoxicated.
Susan's eyes were filled with tears as she looked at the city's night view outside the window, murmuring, "Why, why are you treating me this way? What did I do wrong?"
In Susan's heart, William was everything to her. But now, everything was in the hand of others. Susan was unwilling to accept it.
The daughter of the White family, the largest family in the Imperial City, was troubled by love—if others knew, it would surely cause a huge stir.
Susan, drinking herself into a stupor over a man.
The moonlight outside shone into the suite, and Susan stood up, slowly taking off her lace nightgown, revealing her graceful figure. Susan looked at her impeccable body in the mirror, with a hideous scar just an inch from her heart.
It was a knife wound.
Susan still remembered that William had once risked his life for her.
Warm tears rolled down her face, dripping onto her chest.
Susan touched the scar, her lips trembling, murmuring, "William, have you forgotten? Why can't you love me? Why?"
If all the love in the world had perfect explanations, there wouldn't be so many missed opportunities.
Susan deeply understood this, but she couldn't do it.
She loved William, loved him madly.
She was just a woman troubled by love, without any fault.
The thing that went wrong was just Susan not receiving William's love.
Back at the Turner family mansion, Roy was sitting in a chair, playing with the ring William had given him, unable to hide his smile. It worthed a billion dollars.
That useless William could have accidentally bought such a treasure and foolishly given it to him. Indeed, a useless person doesn't deserve a treasure.
Suddenly, the butler rushed in, shouting in panic, "Mr. Turner, something has happened."
Roy glared angrily and scolded, "Why are you shouting? Behave yourself."
The butler immediately bowed his head, trembling all over.
"What happened?" Roy said coldly, still playing with the ring.
"Something happened to Wade," the butler said anxiously, sweat covering his forehead.
He had just received a notification that Wade had been severely beaten, with all his limbs broken and his teeth knocked out. He was now in the hospital, being rescued in ICU.
This was a huge matter.
Someone had made a move against the Turner family.
Roy stood up in anger, his body trembling with rage.
He quickly grabbed his cane and rushed out, shouting, "Hurry up, take me to the hospital, hurry up. Wade, you must keep well."
Roy was anxious and arranged someone to take him to the hospital immediately. Wade was his most beloved grandson.
In the hospital room, Wade lay on the bed, his eyes vacant, his body wrapped in bandages.
Since waking up, Wade had been staring blankly at the ceiling, with no expression on his face.
Wade had three ribs broken, and his hands and feet had been crippled. It would take at least a year to recover.
Wade stared at the ceiling, his vacant eyes suddenly turning violent. He let out a low, angry roar, his speech slurred, shouting, "I will kill him. I will kill him."
Now, he was no different from a cripple.
The doctor said that it would be difficult for him to even hold a knife and fork in the future, and he needed a long-term to rehabilitate. Let alone walking.
Of course, William didn't know any of this, it was Alan who had ordered it.
Offending Mr. Jones was a death wish.
Beside Wade stood a middle-aged man with a commanding presence, looking to be in his forties or fifties, with a face that bore a strong resemblance to Wade's. He was Wade's father—Andy.
At Wade's bedside sat a middle-aged woman in luxurious attire, her eyes red from crying. "Who could be so heartless to beat my son like this."
She was Wade's mother, Cynthia. Cynthia's heart was in agony. People always say that children are the apple of their mother's eyes. Seeing Wade hurt like this made Cynthia's heart bleed.
"Wade, tell me, who hurt you? I'll have your father catch them."
Cynthia wanted to hold Wade's hand but was afraid of hurting him, so she could only watch anxiously.
Tears rolled down Wade's cheek, his dry lips trembling, "Dad, you must avenge me on him. It was William, kill him for me. I'm a cripple now."
Andy hadn't said any word since entering the room, his face extremely grim.
William? Wasn't he a useless person? How could he do this? Did he have a death wish?
"Andy, could you say something? Wade was beaten so heavily like this by William. Don't you feel any pain? We must avenge our son. I want William to pay with his life."
Cynthia cried bitterly, her eyes filled with malice.
"Enough."
Andy, annoyed, glared at Cynthia and said, "As a mother, you should have kept Wade in check. If he hadn't done something, would William have acted this way?"
"What are you saying? Isn't he your son? I must have been blind to marry you. My poor Wade."
Cynthia suddenly stood up, pushing Andy away, and started crying and making a scene.
Seeing his wife so heartbroken and then looking at Wade on the bed, Andy also felt a surge of anger. He hugged Cynthia and said, "Alright, stop crying. I'll handle it. I will make William suffer ten times the pain Wade has endured."
William was a useless person. Andy didn't take him seriously.
But did William dare to beat so harshly?
Andy knew Wade's temper, Wade must have left something out. But that didn't matter. William must pay the price.
With that, Andy left the hospital room.
Roy arrived at the hospital shortly after Andy left.
Seeing Wade wrapped in bandages on the bed, Roy was instantly furious, angrily striking his cane on the floor, shouting, "Who did this to Wade? I want them to pay tenfold."
Seeing Roy, Wade immediately burst into tears, crying out, "Grandpa, I'm a cripple now. It was William, he did all this. Avenge me."
Hearing it was William, Roy's face turned red with anger, his hand trembling as he gripped his cane, saying, "Alright, Wade, I'll go to catch William right now, break his bones, and avenge you."
With that, Roy stormed out with a group of people, heading straight to Margaret's house through the night.
Meanwhile, half an hour later, William received a call from Margaret.
"Mom, what's the matter? So late."
William was preparing things for Sarah's post-surgery care.
"William, how dare you! Get over here immediately."
A furious voice, not Margaret's, but Roy's, came through the phone.
William frowned, having understood immediately, and calmly replied, "Roy, you're here for Wade?"
"Well, William, you even dare to call me by my name now. You're too audacious. Get over here immediately."
Roy, enraged, hung up the phone after saying that.
At the Smith family’s old residence, Margaret and Tyler stood trembling.
They had no idea why Roy suddenly came with so many people at midnight. He looked extremely angry.
Margaret exchanged a glance with Tyler, cursing internally, "Damn William, he must have caused trouble again. This time he's provoked Roy, he's in for it."
Roy sat on the sofa, hands on his cane, with a cold and stern look.
The entire room was filled with a murderous atmosphere.
No sooner, Mary returned.
She had also received a call from Margaret and saw Roy's angry face as soon as she entered.
"Grandpa, why are you here?" Mary asked politely.
All of a sudden, Roy raised his cane and struck at Mary's leg.
Mary cried out in pain, falling to her knees, her face pale, sweat rolling down.
"Grandpa?"
Mary didn't understand why Roy was so furious, it was the first time he had hit her like this.
"Kneel! Kneel until William comes back."
Roy roared, "You useless thing, bringing a wolf into our house."
