Chapter 81 Jeffery's Plan

William hurriedly explained, "Mary, you're overthinking it. It might just be a card issue. I'll be right back."
Bryan as a wise man, instantly understood the situation, "Don't worry, Ma'am. He'll be back soon and I won't take up his time."
Seeing this, Mary didn't say anything more and just nodded.
William followed Bryan to the VIP room, where they sat on a plush sofa as Bryan personally brewed coffee.
Bryan was still shocked by how young William was. He was a big financial tycoon with a personal deposit of a hundred billion dollars!
Even the richest man in the country had just over a hundred billion, including his company's assets.
But William had a personal deposit of a hundred billion dollars!
It was like something out of a fairy tale!
Someone like him had to be the heir of some hidden, powerful family. Only such a financial dynasty could have such wealth.
"William, you're so young and accomplished. It's surprising how wealthy you are," said Bryan.
Sitting beside him was Bryan's mistress, the very front desk clerk who had been crawling at his feet earlier.
She now planned to use her looks to seduce William Jones, constantly shifting her legs and striking poses in her sheer black stockings, shamelessly exposing herself.
However, William ignored her completely.
He had seen too many women like her before.
"Bryan, I only have one request. When my mother-in-law and wife asked about this later, I just told them it was a banking error. Understand?" William said calmly.
This matter definitely needed to be kept under wraps. If Margaret and Mary find out about such a large sum of money, the consequences would be unimaginable.
It's not just about what would happen if it's exposed.
Rather, how would he explain William's identity once it was exposed?
Moreover, he needed to figure out how many eyes were watching him from the shadows.
Would that woman let him off so easily?
The incident from back then had her fingerprints all over it.
No way, it's too risky!
William absolutely could not reveal his true identity now.
"Of course, we'll meet all your requirements." Bryan nodded repeatedly, showing an obsequious respect. "If you don't mind, William. May I know the reason?"
Bryan was eager to know William's identity. If he could get close to someone like this, his future would be incredibly bright!
"Bryan, some things are better left unknown."
With that said Bryan couldn't ask any further.
Seeing Bryan a bit uneasy, William understood what he was thinking.
Back in his younger days, there would be hundreds of bank managers and presidents kneeling at his doorstep every day, begging William to make deposits or invest in their financial products, even promising various benefits.
Bryan was naturally no exception. Otherwise, he would not have invited him to the VIP room.
"Bryan, how about this? You keep this matter confidential for me, and I'll deposit some funds with you," William said with a smile.
Bryan trembled all over, still hesitating how to broach the subject when William spoke first.
Excited, thrilled.
Bryan and his companion shared a glance, both breaking into smiles of genuine delight.
Were all wealthy people so generous?
"There's no need to say that, William. We must serve our clients." Bryan tried to be polite.
William nodded and stood up. "In that case, I'll take back this opportunity. I’ll be leaving now."
Bryan was stunned, not expecting William to be so decisive.
"William, wait!"
Bryan quickly stood up, smiling obsequiously. "Since you are willing to deposit in our small branch, I will certainly take good care of you."
William smirked. Indeed, no one wasn't interested in money in this world.
Afterward, Bryan spent ages talking about how much to save, for how long, the interest rates, and all that stuff.
In the end, William casually said, "Let's proceed by transferring ten billion dollars from this card to your branch under the account name of Mary, with her birthday as the password."
"Ten billion dollars?" Bryan stared at William with a look of utter astonishment, feeling as if his ears had malfunctioned!
Oh my God!
He just casually deposited a billion for his wife!
William was incredibly wealthy!
Even the front desk clerk, who had been flirting earlier, was now stunned, her heart pounding as she stared at William with shining eyes, wishing she could pounce on him right there!
Such a man was like a prince charming for every woman!
His wife was too lucky.
After the envy, the front desk clerk felt even more jealous.
"Hurry up and process it. I need to go grocery shopping with my wife," William said calmly.
Bryan was startled, his face full of smiles, and immediately had Lori process it.
There was no need for the person to be present; just an ID card was required. That was the treatment for top VIPs!
Ten billion dollars in deposits!
Bryan could never achieve that in his lifetime!
Now, he's definitely securing the branch manager position next year!
"William, your wife is truly envious of having a husband like you." Bryan didn't forget to flatter.
William just smiled lightly and left after everything was done.
When he reached the lobby, Bryan explained to Margaret, "I'm sorry, Ma'am. There was a mistake with our bank system just now. There's only a hundred thousand dollars in this card."
Of course, William had already swapped the cards.
Upon hearing this, Margaret threw a tantrum on the spot. She grabbed Bryan's collar and shouted, "No way! There was definitely a billion. I counted all those zeros! You're lying. You must be in on it! Give me my money back! Give it back! That's my money!"
Margaret was causing a scene and no one could calm her down.
"I'm so sorry, Ma’am. There was an error with the bank system. Please forgive us." Bryan certainly dared not contend with Margaret, allowing her to grasp his collar with ease.
"You're all in on this scam together!"
Margaret pointed at Bryan, then grabbed William's hand. "William, call the police. The bank is scamming us! There's supposed to be a hundred billion in there!"
William uttered in resignation, "Mom, there's only a hundred thousand in the account. There's no hundred billion. The bank already fixed the error."
Margaret wouldn't understand, pushed William away, and cursed him, "You must want to swallow my money. I don't have a son-in-law like you! Get out! That money is mine!"
She was extremely agitated, trusting no one and ignoring everyone’s words.
In the end, it took everyone's combined efforts to calm Margaret down.
Mary quickly took her mother home.
William then went to the supermarket to buy groceries and later visited Sarah in the hospital.
She now had a dedicated nurse looking after her, so she wasn't lonely.
When she saw William, she called out to him sweetly and ran into his arms.
William squatted down, full of doting affection, and playfully bopped her nose. "Have you been good?"
Sarah held a doll in her hands and said cheerfully, "I have been very good. Nancy makes sure I sleep and eat on time, and I did everything right."
"Good girl, our Sarah is the best," William said, lifting her and playing games with her for a while.
Meanwhile, Mary returned to the bank to find Bryan and asked. "Bryan, tell me. Is there really only a hundred thousand in the account??"
Mary had a gut feeling that William was lying to her.
Because earlier in the bank, she had clearly seen the reaction of several clerks frantically looking for the manager.
It must have been because they saw something that caused such panic.
Bryan apologized, "Mary, there really is only a hundred thousand dollars. There was a bank system error and we've already reported it to the head office for processing."
Mary nodded, frowning slightly. Maybe she was overthinking it.
Two days later, Jeffery called Mary and invited her and William to dinner, saying they needed to sort things out between the three of them.
Mary told William about this and he replied directly, "Why not? Besides, you're my wife. Am I afraid he'll steal you away?"
Mary didn't really want to go. She knew the awkward relationship between William and Jeffery.
But since William said so, Mary didn't refuse.
They really did need to talk things over.
That evening, they arrived at the agreed location, the Peace Hotel.
It was one of the rare five-star hotels in Lindwood City, fully equipped with karaoke, baths, massages, and everything else.
William and Mary gave their reservation to the receptionist, who led them to their private room.
As they made their way to the private room, two thugs appeared in the lobby.
"Jeffery, they're here. Should we get started?" One of them, a burly man in a black T-shirt covered in tattoos, exuded an air of sleaziness as he spoke into his phone.
His gaze greedily followed Mary's retreating figure.
Mary was so beautiful!
He really wanted to make love to her!
