Chapter 232 He is Mr. Jones
Many guests began to whisper among themselves.
Somebody asked, "Isn't that Mr. Ramirez? Why is he here today?"
Another said, "Didn't you see Mr. Ramirez having a conflict with that guy?"
One questioned, "What pauper? I don't get it. Isn't this young man about to buy that $290,000 necklace? How does that make him pauper?"
Everyone watching the scene was puzzled.
That man had just bought a 290,000-dollar necklace for his wife.
Anouk was also slightly stunned, looking at William. Mr. Ramirez said he was poor, so he must be. Then how could he afford this $290,000 new pink diamond necklace?
With that, Anouk's eyes showed a trace of anger and disdain.

It turned out he was putting on a show of affluence..

William's face was cold. He frowned at Louis and said, "So it's you. Is this your store?"

Even the woman beside him looked like an ugly duckling compared to Mary.
Such a beautiful woman; how could he let William ruin her?
Mary, very scared, hid behind William, clinging to him. She could tell that Louis's gaze was disgusting.
William's eyes turned cold. He pulled Mary behind him and stepped forward, saying, "Sorry, please show some respect. I'm here to buy a necklace."
Louis laughed, holding the pink diamond necklace, and mocked, "Damn, can you afford this necklace? It's $290,000. Do you think a poor guy like you has that much money to waste? Do you really think knowing the club owner makes you special? I've looked into you. You're just a man living off a woman. Pathetic!"
"No money, and still pretending to be rich. Do you have what it takes?" Louis sneered, glaring at William.
The woman beside Louis also gave William and Mary a fierce look, especially at Mary, and felt very displeased.
"So he's a freeloader. How embarrassing!" she scolded, feeling very uncomfortable since Mary was much prettier than her, and Louis had looked at Mary several times.
Everyone understood immediately, and the mocking words came quickly.
Somebody mocked, "Damn, I thought he was really a rich heir of some prominent family, but he's just living off a woman."
Someone remarked, "A freeloader spending money like this. Where does he get the courage?"
Another added, "A wuss like him should learn better than to spend money. If his mother-in-law finds out this, he'll be doomed."
Everyone looked down on him, and the atmosphere quickly became awkward.
Anouk's anger towards William grew stronger, and she angrily put the necklace back in the box, muttering, "A sound man living off a woman, how shameful!"
Saying this, Anouk deliberately glanced at Mary, and with a tone of disdain, said, "Bitch! With a liar husband, she must be no good either."
William heard all these words, and his face turned extremely dark.
He looked at Mary beside him, her head down, hands tightly clutching her sleeves.
"William, let's go." Her voice was slightly choked.
Mary wasn't good at arguing.
But William couldn't stand it!
They could insult him, but not Mary!
"Enough!" William said coldly, his eyes flashing with cold light, staring at Louis. "Whether I can afford this necklace or not, has nothing to do with you, right? I'm here to buy some jewelry today! Apologize to my wife now."
Saying this, William glared at Anouk, "I'm talking to you two!"
Anouk was stunned, feeling a bit guilty and scared under William's glare.
"Apologize? Damn! What? Afraid of being caught? What an idiot!" Anouk scolded back, feeling confident with Louis beside her.
Louis gave Anouk a thumbs up, laughing, and said, "Good, Anouk, you're the store manager from now on."
She replied, "Really? Thank you, Mr. Ramirez." Anouk was extremely excited, her eyes shining with stars. She wished she could rush over and kiss Louis wildly.
Even if Louis wanted her to sleep with him, Anouk would probably agree.
Other customers also made a few comments.
Someone remarked, "Hey, this guy must be crazy."
"Young man, Just leave. If your mother-in-law finds out, she'll kick you out of the house," a pot-bellied middle-aged man said, holding a plain-looking big-breasted woman beside him.
He had noticed Mary early on; he loved women with such great figures.
So, he made a few mocking remarks to William to draw Mary's attention to himself.
"Well, I'll buy that necklace," the middle-aged man said with a smile, showing off his wealth without hesitation.
The plain-looking woman beside him got excited, called him "honey" affectionately and kissed him.
"Miss, here's my business card. If you need anything in the future, just let me know," The middle-aged man said as he walked over with a cheeky smile, handing Mary a business card, which made the previously excited big-breasted woman stomp her foot in anger.
Mary didn't take the card but politely declined, "No, thank you."
This made the middle-aged man very embarrassed, and he retreated to the side with an awkward smile and then started arguing with his plain-looking mistress.
Meanwhile, Louis was very pleased with himself. He loved the feeling of pushing people to the edge.
He was rich enough.
He thought, 'You embarrassed me at the club, and I'll ruin you today.'
Louis taunted, "From the way you talk, you seem to have a lot of money? Well then, if you're buying a birthday gift for your wife, it should be the most expensive one."
Louis, with a wicked smile had a plan. He said, "This necklace is only worth $290,000. Do you think it matches your beautiful wife?"
As he spoke, Louis glanced at Mary a few more times, feeling increasingly hot. He had to get this woman!
William nodded, stroking his chin. He agreed, "I also think this necklace doesn't match my wife. it's too tacky."
Everyone was stunned.
This idiot didn't realize that Louis was setting a trap for him?
What a fool!
Louis was overjoyed but controlled his emotions well. This William was really stupid, falling into his trap so easily.
Louis straightened up and said, "Exactly, a beauty deserves a gem. We have plenty of jewelry in our store. I think you should buy the most expensive one for your wife to show your love, right?"
"Sure!" William smiled, watching silently. He knew what Louis was up to, but he didn't care about money. Even if he bought the whole store, what was the big deal?
Louis put his arm around William's shoulder and laughed, saying, "Impressive, it seems you truly love your wife. In that case, I won't be stingy. I'll sell you the most expensive gemstone necklace in our store."
He then signaled to Anouk, "What are you waiting for? Go get that sapphire necklace and show it to this big spender."
"Yes, Mr. Ramirez." Anouk nodded in understanding, putting away her phone and quickly walking to the back, feeling extremely disdainful towards William.
Earlier, Anouk had recorded the scene in the store and posted it in a Facebook group chat.
She added some provocative text: [Look, there's an idiot arguing with Mr. Ramirez. This idiot wanted to buy a $290,000 necklace for his wife!]
After thinking for a moment, Anouk added another line: [This idiot is a freeloader, and now he wants to buy the sapphire necklace in the store!]
Instantly, the group chat exploded!
Everyone, after watching the video, was mocking William as a loser.
Somebody commented: [Damn, is he stupid? Competing with Mr. Ramirez in wealth?]
Someone added: [Anouk, is it the $8 million sapphire necklace?]
Another chime: [[Holy crap! That necklace? That idiot is done for! He definitely can't afford it!]
Brandon Ramirez, the younger brother of the head of the Ramirez family, was currently in Lindwood City on a successful business trip, feeling very pleased.
He had come down from Imperial City to check on the family's businesses and brought Louis along for some training.
When he heard the group chat notifications, he thought something big had happened.
When he opened the video and saw the main character, he was instantly stunned!
