Chapter 453 Scarlett
Santino's face went ice-cold, a creepy little grin tugging at his lips. "Does it matter?" he asked.
William chuckled, flashing his pearly whites, looking all innocent. "True, they're all dead anyway."
That smile sent chills down Santino's spine. In William's grin and eyes, he saw a hint of something dangerous, like a predator. 'This guy's gaze is terrifying! Is this why Savannah's so wary of him?' he thought.
William sneered, "Don't play with fire, or you'll get burned. Watch out, or you'll drag down the people behind you."
Santino's brow furrowed, anger bubbling up, but he quickly squashed it. With a dark look, he said, "William, I know you know Alan and have some skills, so I don't plan to use private punishment on you. You have two choices: confess to beating the Gonzales family members, or find a way to take down the Gonzales family. Clearly, the second option is nearly impossible; no one gets away once the Gonzales family sets their sights on them."
William shrugged, glanced up at the ceiling lights, and said, "Yeah, I did those things you mentioned. But the Gonzales family might not be able to do anything to me. Dashiell tried to have me killed with a bunch of thugs, but in the end, I taught him a lesson back. As for Lazlo, he brought it on himself by coveting my wife. If the head of the Gonzales family knew about this, he'd be on his knees begging me."
William smiled calmly.
Santino stared at William, then suddenly said, "There are a bunch of guys outside to save you. I'm very curious about your true identity."
William spread his hands. "Lots of people want to save me. Let's just say justice will prevail over evil. As for my identity, I have nothing to hide. Actually..."
Santino's brow furrowed, and he tensed up, staring at the smiling William. Seeing his reaction, William leaned forward and gestured for him to come closer. "Come closer. It's a secret. Be careful of eavesdroppers."
Santino thought for a moment, then leaned in. William lowered his voice and said, "Actually, I'm not going to tell you!"
Santino was furious, slamming the table. "William, don't test my patience! This is the Gonzales family's private residence. Spill the truth, or I won't be responsible for what happens next!"
William sneered, "Really? That's great. I hope you don't regret it!"
William smirked coldly, his tone dripping with menace. "Santino, at this point, you're still pretending? You really think I don't know who's behind all this?"
Savannah wouldn't be that stupid; it must be Jeffery.
Santino retorted, "What nonsense are you talking about? I've given you a chance. If you don't take it, whatever happens next is on you!"
"Fine!" William sneered, "I haven't even dealt with you for what happened last time. Perfect, now we can settle both old and new scores."
Santino suddenly calmed down. He didn't expect that now, William was still so calm and even threatened him. Where did he get his confidence? The people from the Ashford family outside?
Santino dropped the act, his smile turning icy as he stared at William and tugged at his leather jacket. "Alright, since you're so stubborn, I have no choice. It's a pity, though. I heard your wife is pregnant. What if something happens to her, like a car accident or a fall?"
William's eyes went cold, his voice even colder. "You really shouldn't have threatened me with my wife."
Santino glanced at his watch and sneered, "I'm out of time. Either you confess, or I'll help you confess."
"You'll help me?" William asked, his tone dripping with sarcasm.
Out in the courtyard, Yosef stood still, keeping a cold eye on the gate and occasionally checking his watch. Next to him, Thelonious was trying to make small talk, forcing a smile.
The Ashford family's top bodyguard had a special status, and even Thelonious had to treat him with respect. These guards, in a way, represented the head of the Ashford family, even Emrys himself.
"Why just stand here? How about I invite you to the restaurant across the street?" Thelonious suggested, hoping to get Yosef and his men to leave, making things easier for Santino.
Yosef saw right through Thelonious's plan and shook his head lightly. "No need. I'll wait here. The time is almost up."
"What?" Thelonious was puzzled by Yosef's words.
Ronan sneered, "Well, Thelonious is in for some bad luck. He's about to die and doesn't even know why. No wonder, everyone here is a bunch of useless people."
Thelonious's anger flared. He had tolerated Ronan for a long time. Despite being a member of the Gonzales family, he had been repeatedly insulted by Ronan.
"What did you say?" Thelonious shouted angrily. "Yosef, is this how the Ashford family's top bodyguards behave? I'm a member of the Gonzales family, and you let your subordinate insult me? The Gonzales family will not stand for this! Let's see how the Ashford family will handle this!"
Yosef didn't reprimand Ronan. Instead, he fixed Thelonious with a cold, piercing stare. That look made Thelonious feel like he had fallen into an ice cave, like he was being watched by a fierce wolf.
"I told you, you had half an hour. Since you don't appreciate it, you'll face all the consequences," Yosef spoke solemnly, his gaze cold.
Thelonious, a member of the Gonzales family from Imperial City, had faced many challenges. He quickly regained his composure and laughed coldly. "Well, well, such arrogance! You barged into my private residence in the middle of the night, and I've been quite courteous to you. Now you want to meddle in our private affairs? Fine, let's see what consequences you're talking about!"
As soon as Thelonious finished speaking, Ronan was about to make a move, but suddenly, two bright lights shone at the gate, illuminating the courtyard. It was a black Cadillac, followed by another car. Given the license plate, Alvin had come in person!
This made Thelonious frown even more. He knew Alvin, who had an unusual status and was backed by Andres, not to be underestimated.
As soon as Alvin got out of the car, he enthusiastically ran to the front, personally opened the car door, and said, "Ms. Ashford."
