Chapter 161 Mary's Ex-Boyfriend

Margaret felt a sudden panic. She rubbed her eyes hard and tried to take a couple of steps forward to get a closer look.

Because her eyesight wasn't very good, she was afraid she might have seen it wrong.

"What are you doing here? You can't be here! Get out quickly!"

Suddenly, a tall maid rushed in. She stood in front of Margaret to led her out and then closed the door behind her.

This was the master's resting place, how could it be casually visited?

The maid thought Margaret was rude, running around everywhere.

It had been mentioned earlier that only the first floor could be visited, and the second floor was off-limits.

Margaret hadn't seen clearly before she was pushed out, leaving her extremely curious.

"Sorry, I got lost," Margaret explained with an awkward smile.

The maid just gave her a cold glance and muttered, "Hurry downstairs, your friends are waiting for you on the first floor."

Margaret gave up and went downstairs, where she saw Eliana and Dorothy in the living room.

"Margaret, where did you go? We've been looking for you for ages," Dorothy said with a displeased look.

Eliana also scolded, "This isn't my house, you can't wander freely. You didn't break anything, did you?"

Before Margaret could explain, the maid behind her snorted and said, "Alright, your visiting time is up. I'll see you out."

Margaret felt very uncomfortable; her mind was filled with the wedding photo in that princess-like bedroom. It looked so similar.

'How could it be? Could it be that my eyesight is really that bad?'  Margaret thought .

Margaret didn't say a word on the way back and her face was full of worry.

"What's wrong, Margaret? Why are you so distracted? Are you thinking about that Villa No.1?" Dorothy mocked as they walked, "Don't even think about it. That's not something people like us can afford. Two hundred million, who can buy that? Besides, William is such a loser; he'll never live there in his lifetime."

Dorothy seized every opportunity to say something.

But today, Margaret was unusually quiet.

Especially after leaving the villa, Margaret didn't even bother to argue, which made Dorothy very unhappy.

"What do you mean by this? If you don't want to talk to me, fine, I'm leaving."

Dorothy stomped her foot and twisted her hips, thenwalked away from the Smith Family's old house without even going inside.

Margaret was too preoccupied to argue with Dorothy. She opened the door to go inside, and sat in the living room, lost in thought.

After a while, Tyler came back. Margaret immediately pulled him aside to tell him what had happened today.

"Tyler, isn't it strange? I clearly saw that the wedding photo looked exactly like the one William and Mary took," Margaret said in puzzle.

Tyler sat on the sofa, flipping through today's newspaper, and said, "You're overthinking it. Young people nowadays all take similar wedding photos. Besides, you said that villa costs two hundred million. And didn't Mrs. Wallace say it was George's? Why are you wasting so much energy on this? If you're really worried, just call William and ask him."

Tyler really didn't want to talk to Margaret anymore.

"Right, I'll call William and ask him. He said he bought a house last time. I want to know where it is."

Margaret decided and took out her phone to call William.

William had just finished talking with Rodolfo. Since the matter was resolved, there was no need to compensate for the car.

"Sorry, I need to take this call," William said to Rodolfo with a smile.

"Mr. Jones, justgo ahead. I'll head back now. Come visit me next time," Rodolfo said politely. He glanced at Mason before leaving with his people.

William saw that the call was from Margaret.

"Mom, what's up?" William asked.

"William, where did you buy your house?"

Margaret asked directly.

William was taken aback. What was Margaret up to? Why was she suddenly interested in this?

"I told you, I bought it in the upscale residential area. Do you want to go take a look?" William answered truthfully.

There was no way to keep this secret any longer, and William didn't intend to keep it a secret. They had to move in eventually.

Margaret was stunned for a moment, then said irritably, "Alright, stop bragging. Do you know how much a villa in the upscale residential area costs? The cheapest one is thirty-five million. Do you have that much money?"

Margaret was upset about the wedding photo before, and now she was sure William was bragging.

"Mom, I really..."

"Enough! Shut up."

Margaret was very angry. William was still bragging, "By the way, come home later. We have guests coming, and you need to help out."

With that, Margaret hung up the phone angrily and slammed it on the coffee table.

"What happened? Did William make you angry again?" Tyler observed her expression then asked.

"William is still bragging to me, saying he bought a place in the upscale residential area. You have no idea, the villas there cost at leastthirty-five million. Do you think he's lost his mind, saying something like that?"

Margaret gritted her teeth in anger.

Tyler shook his head helplessly, sighed, and suddenly asked, "If William really bought a place in the upscale residential area, would you live there?"

Margaret was stunned with a frown. She stood up abruptly, pointed at the door, and shouted, "Could he afford a house in the upscale residential area? But if he did, even if he just bought a random house in Hillside Villa, I'll do his laundry, cook and serve him tea every day."

Upon hearing this, Tyler shook his head even more vigorously and said nothing more.

Margaret was just like that.

"By the way, I forgot to tell you, Isaac Hayes is coming over later. Go and buy some groceries, I'll make some of my best dishes for him."

Margaret sat down with a look of joy on her face.

"Isaac Hayes? Didn't he go abroad for studies? He's back?" Tyler was taken aback and took off his reading glasses.

"Yes, Isaac is very successful now. He is a PhD and the CEO of a listed company. This time he's back, probably for Mary."

Margaret was overjoyed at the mention of Isaac, as if she were talking about her own son. "Do you remember when Mary and Isaac were dating in high school? We didn't agree back then. Now, I guess Isaac wants to pursue Mary again."

"But Mary is already married. Why are you talking about it?"

Tyler was puzzled and didn't understand what Margaret meant.

"Are you stupid? So what if she's married? Do you think William can compare to Isaac? Besides, even if they're married, they can still get divorced. As long as Isaac still has feelings for Mary, we should help out."

Margaret said, her eyes full of excitement.

"You're breaking up a loving couple. Why do you always do such heartless things?" Tyler couldn't take it anymore.

Margaret was displeased by this and said, "Heartless? Do you really want to see Mary stuck with that loser for the rest of her life?"

Tyler had nothing to say, so he got up and went out to buy groceries.

What an unreasonable woman!

Meanwhile, William had been at the hospital with Sarah for a while and then took a cab back to the Smith Family's old house.

At the door, William saw a brand-new Porsche parked outside.

The guest at home must be quite wealthy.

William stepped inside and saw Margaret chatting and laughing with a young man. There were a lot of fruits in front of them.

"Isaac, I've already called Mary. She'll be back soon. I heard you work at Orion Pharmaceuticals as the CEO?"

Margaret was exceptionally enthusiastic.

Isaac, the CEO of the listed company Orion Pharmaceuticals, had studied abroad for six years and came from a wealthy family, being the young master of the Hayes Group.

He and Mary were a perfect match in high school and had a brief romance, but it didn't come to fruition.

Margaret still regretted not agreeing to it back then.

At this moment, William happened to come back.

"And who is this?" Isaac asked, looking at William who had just entered.

Margaret glared at William and quickly changed the subject. "It doesn't matter, don't mind him. Let's talk more about you. Tyler went out to buy groceries and will be back soon. Stay for dinner.

It's been so many years, Mary must miss you a lot."

Mary? Miss him?

William felt awkward as he stood at the door, not knowing what to say.

William could tell that Margaret intentionally didn't want to reveal his identity.

William had nothing to say and was about to go to the bedroom, Margaret scolded, "Why are you standing there like an idiot? Go and pour Isaac a cup of water."

William responded and politely poured a new cup of water, handing it to Isaac with a smile.

Isaac took it politely and said thank you, then asked suspiciously, "Mrs. Turner, do you have a male housekeeper?"

Housekeeper?

William was furious.

Margaret just smiled awkwardly and didn't explain. She thought to herself that she shouldn't have let Chen Ping come back.

Just then, Mary came back from outside.

"Mom, what's so urgent that you called me back?"

Mary dressed in a black professional outfit today, looked tall and elegant. She exuded a charming professional woman's aura.

The moment Isaac saw Mary, his eyes filled with deep affection. He stood up and said, "Mary, you're back?"

Mary was startled, looking at him. Her face lit up like a blooming flower, and she exclaimed excitedly, "Isaac, when did you come back?"

As she spoke, Isaac walked over and, in front of William, hugged Mary and said softly, "I just got back. I've been thinking about you day and night these past years. It's so good to see you."

William's face instantly darkened.
