Chapter 97 This Is William
Hubert's eyes twisted with irritation as he witnessed the couple flirting right under his nose, showing no regard for him whatsoever!
Damn it!
This idiot, he actually dares to look down on me.
Hubert was furious, pointing at William and bellowing, "Don't blame me for being ruthless today. You've brought this upon yourself! Get him, cripple this punk, and take the woman away!"
The dozen or so thugs Hubert had brought with him approached William with sinister sneers.
One man against a dozen?
Utterly overconfident!
In the crowd, many shook their heads in resignation, sighing in helplessness as they felt that William would be in great trouble.
That's Hubert, notoriously ruthless. Someone thought, ‘Crossing Hubert is like provoking a rabid dog; he won't stop hounding you.’
William, however, looked on with an indifferent gaze, silently pulling out his phone and dialing a number, his voice cold, "Orlando Wolf, how much longer will you wait before you show up? I'm being cornered in your restaurant by your manager."
At the same time, a middle-aged man in a black suit was hastily making his way from a Range Rover parked at the restaurant's entrance, panting. "William, I'm almost there; I'm at the door already."
The call ended.
Orlando was drenched in sweat, a forehead slick with cold perspiration!
About twenty minutes earlier, he had received a call from William, asking him to intercept a lady named Mary at the hotel, but he was delayed due to traffic.
Now, William was cornered in his own restaurant by his manager.
This was practically asking for trouble.
He was in deep trouble.
Orlando was scared witless, his forehead sweating profusely.
Hubert knew him well; he was a man with unclean hands who he had hired as a manager.
"That damned Hubert, if he's provoked William, his own life won't be enough to atone!" Orlando, wiping his cold sweat, rushed into the restaurant.
Meanwhile, Hubert saw William on the phone and let out a series of cold laughs, "Alright, guy, you even know our restaurant's boss. Seems like I've underestimated you."
Hubert's gaze was icy, not expecting this man before him to know the boss.
But what of it?
With William's plain appearance, could he be someone of importance?
At best, he's just a nobody.
Orlando surely wouldn't fall out with me over this anybody, Hubert thought confidently.
However, William appeared unfazed, calmly looking at Hubert and stating, "I need to correct a mistake you just made."
"What mistake?" Hubert frowned. "You're trying to stall for time? Fine, I want to hear it. What's my mistake?"
Hubert wasn't in a hurry, his face twisted in a sinister sneer, not minding at all.
A fool like this could pose a threat to him.
"Actually, this place isn't your turf; it's mine," William said calmly, his gaze piercing as he stared at Hubert.
This restaurant was his.
All seventeen across the country were his.
Hubert was taken aback, then burst into laughter. "Come on! You really are a loser. Did you just say this place is your turf? Where the hell do you get the confidence to spout such bullshit?"
The kid was quite amusing, daring to brag in front of so many people.
What did he mean by his turf?
Was he implying that he owned the Polaris Sky Restaurant?
People present thought it was Ridiculous!
It was absolutely hilarious!
William shook his head with a faint smile at the corners of his mouth, Hubert oblivious to his impending doom.
And this scene was caught by Hubert.
What did it mean?
Was this guy mocking him?
Damm it!
Why should a nobody like him havehave that kind of mocking smile?
"I don't care who you are; today, you've hit my brother and caused trouble here. I'm going to take you down!" Hubert roared, waving his hand as his men prepared to charge.
Everyone closed their eyes, not daring to witness the impending horror.
It was a completely one-sided situation with no chance of turning around.
Lisa also lost interest in watching and left with her friends.
Suddenly!
"Stop! Everyone fucking stop!"
A thunderous shout came from the restaurant's entrance.
Everyone's gaze turned to see a middle-aged man running in hurriedly and sweating profusely, his face filled with panic.
"Orlando, why are you here? Don't worry. I can handle this," Hubert recognized Orlando immediately and quickly said with a smile.
Orlando rarely visited the restaurant, basically leaving it to Hubert to manage.
That said, with the emperor far away, Hubert’s influence in the restaurant had been growing over the years.
But in front of Orlando, he was always just an employee.
This was a genuine tycoon who had a net worth of hundreds of millions!
He owned all seventeen Polaris Sky Restaurants across the country, with extraordinary financial resources and connections.
"It's over now. Even Orlando is here!"
"That guy is definitely not getting away now; what an idiot!"
"Why did that nobody act so arrogantly just now? He could have apologized and maybe resolved the issue, but now, Orlando surely won't let him off either."
Gilbert, who was already helped up, covered in blood, saw Orlando and cried as if seeing a savior. "Orlando, you must stand up for me; this punk beat me up so badly; he was too harsh!"
However, to everyone's surprise!
Orlando didn't pay any attention to the Simmons, who were like dung in his eyes. Even if his own brother provoked William, Orlando would choose justice over kinship.
They didn't know William's methods, but Orlando did.
Even the restaurant belonged to William, so what right did Orlando have to stand up for Gilbert?
Orlando slapped Gilbert hard across the face, aggravating the injury on Gilbert’s face.
Gilbert's nose, which had barely stopped bleeding, instantly gushed blood again.
The crowd was astonished!
They couldn't comprehend this sudden turn of events!
Hubert was dumbfounded; what the hell was going on?
Then, Orlando kicked Gilbert in the knee, bellowing angrily, "Kneel!"
Gilbert was bewildered. In his mind, Orlando should have been there to back them up, so why was he being told to kneel?
"Orlando, what do you mean?"
Another slap landed on Hubert's face. Orlando turned and pointed angrily at Hubert's nose, his voice cold, "Hubert, don't fucking claim relations with me; I am not close with you. You're nothing but a dog I brought in!"
Orlando clearly understood that he couldn't jeopardize everything he owned because of the Simmons' mistake.
Moreover, offending William was their own death wish!
How William chose to punish them was entirely up to his mood, and no one could stop it.
"Orlando, what do you mean? I am the manager of the restaurant, after all. And today, it was that idiot who caused trouble and injured us; now you're blaming us instead?"
Hubert's eyes were icy, his fists clenched tightly.
He thought, ‘What the hell is Orlando doing? He had never turned against me before!’
And this scene, naturally, was witnessed by everyone, leaving them utterly confused.
"Manager? Your position was given by me! Fine, Hubert, you're fired!" Orlando roared.
This Hubert was really courting death.
Hubert thought in shock, ‘What?’
Hubert's eyes narrowed, completely infuriated, "Orlando, do you really want to fire me?"
However, Orlando didn't pay him any attention and instead turned and bowed deeply to William with great respect. "William, I'm sorry; it's all my fault for poor management and for bringing in such a blind fool. Whatever you want to do with him today, just say the word, and I'll have it done immediately."
Orlando actually called him William!
Everyone was dumbfounded!
They couldn't fathom how an ordinary guy could make the boss of Polaris Sky Restaurant bow and scrape.
They wondered if William was really a powerful guy.
Mary sat to the side, her eyes swirling with shock, her mouth slightly agape, her gaze flickering.
Mary thought, ‘Is this the other side of William that he had mentioned?’
She suddenly remembered what Susan had said, that the restaurant belonged to the Jones family. Thus, Mary quickly felt relieved, but she still found it incredible.
Her husband, with whom she had shared a bed for three years, came from a wealthy family.
Now, Mary was certain that William's family-owned restaurants.
With this in mind, Mary no longer planned to question William. Although she still had doubts, it didn’t matter now, did it?
Whether William was a good-for-nothing or what kind of person he really was, time would explain everything to her.
As long as William was willing to speak, she was willing to believe.
However, what Mary didn't know was that the wealth she vaguely guessed at was but a drop in the ocean compared to William's actual fortune; it was negligible.
At this moment, Hubert and his people were taken aback by the scene!
They had no idea that this ordinary man had such a significant background, powerful enough to make Orlando bow.
They were in trouble!
They didn’t expect to annoy a big shot!
"Orlando, they just insulted my wife. You know what to do?" William said indifferently.
