Chapter 34 Divorce is Necessary!

Jimmy looked up, a mix of anger and fear in his eyes as he confronted William. "Why not? Since you bought my family's company, this money belongs to us!"

Indeed, he was defiant. William sneered, and Jesse, without a second thought, slapped Jimmy again, shouting angrily, "Shut up!"

Jimmy was dumbfounded. Today, he had been hit more times than in his entire life. Just as he was about to retort, Jesse Parker bent over, his attitude extremely humble, and said, "If Young Master wants to buy my company, I will naturally give it to him, and I won't take the money."

Jesse was not confused; he knew that only by doing this could he and his son survive. William nodded, glanced at George, and the latter immediately had the cash transport leave in a grand manner.

In Jimmy's eyes, the trucks drove away, one by one. That was three hundred million in cash, his family's entire fortune!

"Dad, what are you doing? That's our family's money!" Jimmy roared, his gaze filled with resentment as he glared at William.

However, Jesse rebuked, "What do you know? What family money? It's all William's money! Our company's success is all thanks to William's investment. If he wants to buy it, we have to comply!"

George Clark's investment was naturally William's investment.

George Clark?

It was only at this moment that Jimmy noticed the elderly man standing beside William, who turned out to be the richest man in Lindwood City!

The legendary richest man!

And the middle-aged man standing behind William was also quite familiar.

Alan, Mr. Alan Jordan?

Jimmy was dumbfounded.

It was only now that he realized that the person was actually Alan Jordan!

No wonder he had felt a sense of familiarity from the start.

But now, there was no turning back.

A few minutes later, Jimmy and Jesse stood at the entrance of the dessert shop, bowing respectfully as William and the others left.

It was only after William and the others had left that Jimmy felt as if his spine had been pulled out, and he collapsed to the ground, muttering tearfully, "It's over, everything is over."

A second-generation rich person with a fortune of over a billion had instantly become an ordinary person.

This was William's power and fury.

Without spending a single cent, he had directly changed the ownership of the Harvest Group.

On the other hand, after a day of twists and turns, William finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Getting out of the car with his daughter, William asked Alan to safely send Kimberly back.

Kimberly left with a lot of questions in her mind.

Standing at the entrance of the old house, William held Sarah, rubbed her nose, smiled, and then knocked on the door, saying, "Mom, Dad, I'm back."

After a moment, the door opened, and Margaret, with a stern face, stared at William and Sarah and said with displeasure, "What's with all the shouting? It's so unlucky, and you brought this dead girl back."

William could only smile bitterly, and Sarah in his arms pouted, feeling wronged.

Entering the house, William saw Mary and his father-in-law sitting in the living room.

His father-in-law looked very unhappy.

"Why are you home?" William frowned, looking at Mary.

She should be in the hospital; why was she discharged?

His father-in-law slammed the table, his face stern, and said, "William, let's get this straight today. You and Mary go to the Civil Affairs Bureau and get a divorce."

'Divorce?'

Mary was stunned, and William was also dumbfounded.

It was too sudden!

"Dad, what are you talking about? I won't divorce William; this is not negotiable," Mary immediately vetoed, reaching out to take Sarah from William.

Just as William was about to sit down, his mother-in-law started scolding, "Stand up! Is there a place for you to sit here? Lazy and useless, a mud that can't hold up a wall. Did you embarrass your father today? Now all our old friends and colleagues know about it, and we've both lost face!"

William was puzzled, and Mary frowned at him, asking, "What's going on? Did you make my parents angry again?"

'This William, why can't he be a bit more careful?'

William stood helplessly, explaining, "No, it's just a misunderstanding, but it's all resolved."

His father-in-law snorted, "Resolved? Thanks to you, now my friends are all laughing at me. I've been collecting for half a lifetime, and in the end, I have to rely on a painting that my good-for-nothing son-in-law bought from the Antique Market to save face."

The old man was full of anger.

Although William's painting was real, he couldn't stand the idle talk of his old friends.

Mary didn't understand, so she asked, "Dad, why are you blaming William instead of going after Matthew, who gave you the fake painting?"

Mary was helpless; her parents were too unreasonable.

She knew they disapproved of William because of what happened years ago, but it had been years. Why couldn’t they let it go?

Margaret accused, "Mary, you're speaking for outsiders now? Your father and I have worked hard to raise you, and you bring back such a son-in-law? Let me tell you, you and William have to divorce, or else I will cut off the mother-daughter relationship with you!"

Cut off the mother-daughter relationship?

That was too harsh.

Mary immediately lost control, got up, hugged Sarah, and said, "Mom, Dad, since we're being open today, let me make it clear. I won't divorce William; you can do whatever you want."

After speaking, Mary walked out with high heels, and at the same time turned to William and said, "What are you still standing there for? Let’s go home!"

William didn't move, he stood in the living room, not knowing what he was thinking, and said, "Dad, Mom, I know you look down on me, but I will prove to you that I, William, am not inferior to anyone, and I will give Mary and my daughter a good future. So, even if you want us to divorce, I won't agree."

After that, William turned around and followed Mary out.

In the living room, Margaret went crazy, pointing at the door and scolding, "Tyler, look at your good daughter, and that William Jones, useless, yet he dares to make promises to us! They must divorce, or next week, we won’t go to your father’s 70th birthday."

Tyler was also helpless, wanting to say a few words, but Margaret turned away, grabbed her bag, and left the house.

Today, she made an appointment with several old friends to buy financial products.

After leaving the house, she came to the park and met with several old ladies, exchanging pleasantries.

When talking about each other's sons-in-law or daughters-in-law, everyone was very talkative because their sons-in-law were good and their daughters-in-law were filial.

Only Margaret couldn't bring herself to speak; she could only force a smile.

"Margaret, how's your son-in-law William lately? I heard he's delivering takeout now." A flamboyantly dressed middle-aged woman ruthlessly revealed her secret.

Yes, every time they met, they had to bring up Margaret's son-in-law. This had become a common topic.

"Margaret, your son-in-law is so useless; why don't you let your daughter divorce him."

"No, if they divorce, it will be her second marriage, and she won't be able to marry. And there's a child. Men nowadays don’t like single moms."

"That's right, who wants to raise someone else's child?"

The group of old women mercilessly mocking William.

On the surface, they seemed to care about Margaret’s daughter, but secretly, they were probably laughing.

Margaret was so angry that her face was red, and she had no face, so she squeezed out a smile and said, "I will definitely make my daughter divorce that useless son-in-law! I'll take care of her for the rest of my life."

Seeing Margaret's ugly face, everyone didn't continue, changing the topic as they headed to the financial company.

Meanwhile, William had gained some attention because of the live broadcast, but soon, all the online reports about it were deleted.

Even the video resources were gone.

It was as if a pebble had fallen into a lake silently.

Meanwhile, in a beauty salon, Lisa had made an appointment with a few girls to do a beauty spa.

A few minutes ago, her friend, Jessica, wrapped in a short white bathrobe, with a face mask on, a pink towel wrapped around her head, and her hair swaying, ran over, saying, "Girls, I found a big local tycoon!"

"What local tycoon?" Lisa was lying on her back, enjoying the massage from the attendant, and asked without lifting her eyelids.

"Three hundred million! This guy spent three hundred million to buy our city's Harvest Group!" Jessica shouted, her eyes full of envy and excitement, "You all know that rich kid, Jimmy, right? It's his family's company that has been bought by this local tycoon."

As soon as they heard three hundred million and Jimmy, several girls hurriedly sat up, eager to see the video.

It was a short video, downloaded from YouTube with great effort by Jessica.

The picture was a bit blurry, with a watermark.

"This local tycoon is so awesome, buying the Harvest Group."

"Who is he? Do you know him? Let's make an appointment to meet."

"I don't know, he looks unfamiliar."

The girls were fighting to get a better look at the man in the picture.

Three hundred million was a lot of money.

And Lisa, who was watching the video, had a furrowed brow.

She always felt that the man in the video looked a lot like someone.

'William Jones?'

'No, that's impossible!'

That guy was so poor that he even asked Elbert for money; he was just a loser.

Lisa didn’t think much of it, continuing to discuss the man who spent three billion with her friends. What a man!

Her gaze returned to William. Mary was walking in front of Sarah, and William was following behind.

They didn't speak until they reached the entrance of the residential area.

Suddenly, Mary stopped, and Sarah in her arms had already fallen asleep.

She turned to look at William and said, "Thank you for what happened during the day."

'During the day?'

'Oh, the Star Club incident.'

William said solemnly, "Mary, you're my wife, you must tell me in advance if something happens."

Mary nodded, indicating that she understood.

She knew that she had been saved by William when she woke up in the hospital, but she wasn't sure how he had saved her, so she planned to ask tomorrow.

Because she knew that Anthony and Patrick were not good people.

Given her husband’s usual capabilities, he shouldn't have such influence, so Mary Smith guessed that someone must have helped him.

Or rather, helped her.

Could it be the person who helped her complete the one million order from Sunshine Pharmaceuticals last time?

'Who is he?'

The night passed without incident.

Early the next morning, Mary went to work, and William pretended to get ready and prepared to leave with Sarah.

As soon as they left, Margaret's phone call came.

Just as she answered, her mother-in-law's voice came over the phone, "William, get to DJ Road immediately; you must be there in ten minutes!"

Before he could ask for the reason, she hung up.

What was so urgent?

William was used to it. He looked at Sarah in his arms and decided to send her to the company and let Melissa take care of her for a while.

And then, he hurriedly took a taxi from the company to DJ Road.

As soon as he got out of the car, William saw a group of old men and women gathered at the closed gate of a financial company, arguing fiercely with several men and women in suits.

"Where have you been? You're five minutes late! Are you defying me now?"

Just as William arrived, his mother-in-law, Margaret, came over in a rage and scolded him.
