Chapter 297 Alarm!

William completely ignored him, resting his head on the pillow and staring at the ceiling. He hummed a tune and said, "Sometimes, when you make the wrong choices, you have to pay the price, Algernon. Enjoy your last moments."

Meanwhile, in a luxurious office in a high-rise building, a man with a grim expression was lying back in his swivel chair with his eyes closed, resting.

He was Ignatius Patterson, the leader of the Flameheart Cartel!

The sudden ringing of the phone shattered the silence in the office. Ignatius merely frowned slightly, opened his eyes, rubbed his temples, glanced at the caller ID, and answered the call.

"Hello, Ignatius, how did it go?" a voice asked from the other end of the line, accompanied by a sinister chuckle.

Ignatius said happily on the phone, "Mr. Gray, you can trust me to get things done."

The faint white glow from the computer screen illuminated Ignatius' face, revealing a confident smirk at the corner of his mouth.

"Good, in that case, thank you very much. Once it's done, I'll personally treat you to dinner," the voice said.

Jeffery's smug smile hinted at his released fury.

"You're too kind. It's a small matter, and I'm happy to help," Ignatius said with a chuckle.

He added, "Don't worry. I'll take care of everything you asked for. Just wait for my good news."

Jeffery nodded and said, "Ignatius, I won't say much more. As for your payment, I've already instructed my secretary to transfer it to your account."

A smile finally appeared on Ignatius' weary face. He was quite pleased; a million dollars had just fallen into his lap so easily!

After hanging up, Ignatius stood up from his swivel chair, looked out at the night view of Lindwood City, narrowed his eyes, and his smirk grew colder.

He quickly dialed a number on his phone.

In the hotel suite, William and Algernon were in a standoff, or rather, William was leisurely waiting for someone while Algernon was in a state of panic.

The urgent ringing of the phone broke the silence in the room.

Alaric, who was groaning on the floor, endured the pain and pulled his phone out of his pocket. He glanced at William's cold gaze, unsure whether to answer it or not.

"Answer it," William said calmly.

Ignatius' calm voice came through the phone, "Alaric, how's it going? Remember, no matter what it takes, you have to cripple him and throw him into the river! You must get this done!"

"Ignatius, things are a bit complicated here." Alaric, enduring the pain, sounded off.

But Ignatius, already enticed by money, didn't notice the change in Alaric's tone. He commanded in a superior tone, "What could be complicated? If they don't let him go, just say it's my order. Anyway, you have to get this done! I'll handle everything else!"

Ignatius then hung up the phone.

In the suite, Alaric lay on the floor, his hand trembling uncontrollably as he held the phone, his expression a mix of emotions.

Ignatius had given a kill order to deal with William, but the current situation made Alaric wish he was dead!

Algernon, on the side, was also full of fear. Benjamin on the sofa didn't even regard them, as if any move they made would result in Benjamin ruthlessly killing them all right there!

Algernon believed that man would definitely do it!

William observed beads of sweat rolling down Algernon and Alaric's foreheads.

They all knew William was waiting for someone they feared!

But who could it be?

Who gave William the confidence to be so fearless?

Algernon moved back a few steps and glanced at the suite door. He wanted to leave but couldn't muster the courage to open it because William was still inside.

When Algernon met Benjamin's gaze on the sofa, he understood that Benjamin could stop him from leaving in an instant!

They were all waiting for the person William mentioned!

At that moment, several black Audi A6Ls sped down the street towards the hotel!

An angry voice shouted, "Bastards! This is utter nonsense! Do they not want to work anymore? How dare they act like this? Investigate it thoroughly! No matter who it is, arrest them! I, Alvin, refuse to believe someone would dare do this under my nose!"

A middle-aged man in a suit sat in the back seat, his face full of anger.

He was the boss of Lindwood City Security Company, overseeing a group of security guards!

Last time, they caused a huge commotion by arresting William.

Even Andres was alarmed!

And now, these people were at it again, which was sheer madness!

Arresting William? Were they looking for death?

The employee in the front passenger seat turned his head, looking puzzled, as he asked, "Mr. Weaver, what happened to make you so angry?"

It was the first time he had seen Alvin so furious.

"Call Percival at the branch office and tell him to get back here immediately!" Alvin commanded.

Alvin's anger hadn't subsided. If it weren't for George's call earlier, he wouldn't have known that the branch office had arrested William!

If this incident alarmed Andres again, Alvin would be in deep trouble!

After learning the details, Alvin discovered Algernon, the branch office's junior manager, had impulsively detained William.

Wasn't this putting Alvin in harm's way?

The person in the front passenger seat quickly called Percival. As soon as the call connected, Alvin snatched the phone and started yelling, "Percival, look at the mess you've made! Does your branch office not want to work anymore? Get back here immediately! I'll be at the Marriott Hotel in ten minutes!"

Percival was resting in bed when the call woke him up, only to be met with a barrage of scolding, which scared him into a cold sweat!

"Mr. Weaver, what happened?" Percival asked.

He was about to ask what had happened, but the call was already disconnected.

In the middle of the night, Alvin personally calling him could only mean something serious had happened!

Percival immediately knew there was trouble. He quickly got out of bed, dressed, and rushed out the door!

Under the cover of the night, several police cars sped like streaks of light, drifting to a stop right in front of the Marriott Hotel!

The security guards at the entrance were blinded by the car's taillights before they could even see clearly!

What was going on?

At that moment, Percival arrived at the Marriott Hotel and saw Alvin's car!

He quickly opened the car door, rushed out, and greeted Alvin, who was stepping out of his vehicle.

Alvin got out of the car, his eyes dark and stormy. He angrily questioned Percival, who was approaching him. "Percival, is this your doing?"

Percival still didn't know what had happened and asked, "Mr. Weaver, what happened to alarm you?"

Alvin, furious, pointed at Percival's nose and scolded him, "You have the nerve to ask me? As the branch manager, you don't even know what's going on! If you don't want to work, submit your resignation tomorrow!"

All the surrounding employees watched this scene in silence, terrified. This was Alvin, the general manager of their company, angrily reprimanding Percival in person!

It was unheard of!

And why was Alvin so urgently here in the middle of the night?

Was it for the man in the room?

Impossible!

That was too terrifying!

Alvin frowned and said, "Did you arrest a man named William tonight? Take me to him immediately! If you're late by a minute, prepare to resign!"

In the suite, William still sat with his arms crossed and legs up, looking quite at ease.

But Algernon was dripping with sweat and appeared very anxious due to William's powerful aura.

At that moment, Algernon heard chaotic and hurried footsteps!

He felt a glimmer of hope. Could it be that the Flameheart Cartel had sent more people to help him?

But William looked at Algernon with a mocking sneer as if he were an idiot.

Seeing William's gaze, Algernon panicked. Could the people outside be William's reinforcements?
