Chapter 410 Get Lost
William berated Maya with the intensity of a tempest.
Maya just stood there, totally stunned. She never thought William had it in him to curse like that.
"Just 'cause you're a foreigner, you think you can do whatever you want? Think you can just insult people? Who the hell gave you that right?" William yelled, his face red with anger.
Maya kept her mouth shut, especially since the crowd around them started to murmur and even throw shade at her.
Someone in the crowd shouted, "Yeah! Just the other day, some foreigners broke traffic rules and only got a slap on the wrist, while we locals get fined!"
Another voice chimed in, "They get treated way too well! I think everyone should be treated the same!"
An angry voice added, "That chick's a disgrace! Thinks she's some kind of princess! What a joke, worshipping foreigners!"
The crowd was getting louder and more pissed off.
Maya had really stirred the pot.
But she wasn't backing down. She pointed at the crowd and snapped, "You! You lowlifes, what do you know? Foreigners are just better, more cultured than you!"
That just made the crowd even angrier, and they started cursing her out.
Maya stomped her foot in frustration, glaring at William and Mary. "Just you wait! This isn't over!"
With that, she grabbed Leander and bolted.
Once they were away, Maya fumed to Leander, "Leander, that guy's too full of himself. How dare he treat us like that? I want payback!"
Leander was just as pissed, cursing up a storm.
In his rage, he called someone to dig up dirt on William.
Maya, seething with hatred, egged him on.
She had just gotten back to Lindwood City and already got smacked down by William, that loser.
How infuriating!
Maya swore to herself, 'I'm gonna ruin William and Mary!'
Suddenly, she had an idea. "Leander, you're the VP of the Medical Association. I heard Mary works at a pharmaceutical company. Can you get her fired? Or blacklist her so she can't work in the industry anymore?"
Leander's eyes lit up. "Great idea!"
Leander, who was fat and greasy, had already been eyeing Mary.
She was a total knockout!
He'd been with plenty of women over the years, but none like Mary.
Since she worked at a pharmaceutical company, he definitely had a way to mess with her.
His mind was now filled with thoughts of Mary and that jerk William.
Leander cursed inwardly, 'Damn it!'
He'd been humiliated today.
Meanwhile, William and Mary found a spot to sit and chill.
"William, you shouldn't have done that. Maya's an old classmate of mine," Mary said, worried that Maya would come after them.
With Maya's temper, there was no way she'd let it slide.
William grinned and said, "Babe, what are you worried about? Think about who I am."
Mary then remembered that William's status was different now. As the secret boss of Crescent Investment Group, he was not to be trifled with.
She looked at William, puzzled. "William, I really want to know about Ellie Jones. Can you tell me about her?"
William frowned, trying to read her expression.
After a moment, he sighed and said, "She's my sister, my real sister."
Mary was shocked; she should've figured that out sooner.
So, she was Ellie's sister-in-law.
"Then where is she?" Mary asked.
"She's dead," William said, his eyes filled with sadness.
He really didn't want to think about that memory.
Upon hearing this, Mary widened her eyes, covered her mouth, and held William's hand tightly. "I'm sorry, honey. I didn't know."
William touched her cheek and said, "It's okay."
After a moment of hesitation, Mary said, "But, the last time at my friend's place, the package we got was also from someone named Ellie. What's up with that?"
Mary was confused.
The text message she got that night was also from Ellie.
William shook his head, looking puzzled. "I don't know either. Honestly, I'm not even sure if Ellie's really dead. I never found her body. I'm still digging into it. Don't stress about it. I'll handle it."
Mary nodded, realizing she couldn't do much to help, especially when it came to his sister.
Their shopping mood was totally killed, so they went straight home.
Once they got back, William went to play with Sarah, while Mary dashed to the bedroom and grabbed the USB drive from the bedside table.
After a moment of hesitation, she went to the study, fired up the computer, and plugged in the USB drive.
It was a video.
Mary, feeling nervous, was about to hit play.
Just then, William walked in, holding some supplements, and smiled, "What are you up to? Drink this first."
Mary forced a smile and quickly switched the screen to some random documents. "Oh, nothing. Just some company stuff."
William glanced at the USB drive sticking out of the port but didn't say anything.
After Mary finished her supplements, William still didn't leave.
The air between them got awkward.
Then, they heard Sarah crying downstairs and Margaret's angry voice.
They exchanged a look, and William bolted out of the room.
Mary yanked out the USB drive and followed him.
Margaret was gripping Sarah's little arm, yelling at her, "I'll teach you a lesson, you little brat! Look at this mess! Just like your father!"
Snacks were scattered all over the floor.
Sarah was crying her eyes out.
William stormed downstairs, his eyes blazing with anger. "Margaret, what the hell are you doing?"
Margaret jumped, not realizing William was back.
She shrank back, stammering, "She made a mess. Can't I discipline her a bit?"
William glared at Margaret, then knelt down to comfort Sarah.
Sarah clung to William's shoulder, sobbing, "Daddy, Grandma hit me."
"I know," William said softly, patting Sarah's back. He looked at Mary, who had come downstairs, and said, "Go to your mom."
Sarah sniffled and ran to Mary's side.
William stood up, his eyes cold as ice as he stared at Margaret. "How should I deal with you?"
Margaret was terrified by William's icy expression.
It was downright scary!
"I'm just disciplining Sarah for you. What's the big deal? She's my granddaughter. Can't I hit her a couple of times and scold her?" Margaret argued, but her panic was obvious.
Mary wanted to speak up, but William stopped her with a look.
"Margaret, I don't care what your excuse is for hitting and scolding Sarah. You've crossed the line!" William said coldly, then pointed to the door. "Get out of this villa!"
Margaret immediately protested, shouting, "Why should I leave? This villa is mine now! You have no right to kick me out! If anyone should leave, it's you!"
What right did William have to make her leave?
So what if he was the big boss of Crescent Investment Group?
He had no right to be so arrogant!
Margaret wasn't having it!
"Fine," William sneered and nodded. "Then give me back the two hundred million dollars!"
Margaret's eyes widened in shock. She looked at William, confused. "What do you mean?"
"The money for this villa. If you have the money, it's yours," William said coldly.
William didn't have time to argue with Margaret.
She wanted to play dirty, so he'd play even dirtier!
"I don't have it! This villa is in my name now. It's mine! What right do you have to ask me for money? You gave it to me yourself!" Margaret insisted.
But William ignored her, pulled out his phone, and called the security team and the property manager of the upscale residential area. "Get over here."
After hanging up, he stared coldly at Margaret. "Today, either you come up with two hundred million dollars, or you get out!"
'Enough is enough! Margaret, you brought this on yourself! Get out, you spiteful woman!' William thought to himself.
