Chapter 421 Turbulent Times

Caspian lost it the second he heard that.

"What the hell? Who do you think you are, talking like that? I'm gonna make you regret ever being born!" Caspian yelled, his face turning red with rage.

He had a job to do, and he wasn't about to mess it up. Caius had backed him and his crew for ages, so he couldn't let him down now. He was set on teaching William a lesson he'd never forget.

"Moron!" William shot back, thinking Caspian was just a big, dumb brute. He swung his fist and nailed Caspian right in the face!

Caspian was the local tough guy, trained in martial arts since he was a kid. He hadn't met many who could take him on. That was why Caius trusted him with all the dirty work.

But all Caspian felt was a rush of wind, then it was like his face slammed into a brick wall.

The punch hit him so hard his eyes nearly popped out.

Next thing he knew, he was flying like a rag doll, crashing into a car's windshield behind him.

The windshield shattered, and the car alarm went off.

Caspian spat out a mouthful of blood.

He felt like his bones were shattered, and the pain was so bad he couldn't even stand up straight.

His face was a bloody mess, twisted in agony. He felt worse than dead.

All this went down in just a few seconds.

William's vibe was straight-up terrifying.

The other thugs were frozen, too scared to even move as they watched William walk up to Caspian.

When he got to him, William yanked him off the car and stomped on his kneecap, shattering it completely.

Caspian was probably gonna spend the rest of his life in a wheelchair.

He let out a blood-curdling scream and then passed out cold.

The thugs watching gasped, staring at William like he was some kind of monster.

This was brutal!

Caspian, the martial arts guy, was totally helpless against William.

Inside the mansion, Caius and Apollo were freaking out. They saw everything on the surveillance cameras.

Caius was drenched in sweat. He could see that William was no joke; his moves were fast, precise, and deadly.

Caius was panicking. William had to have some powerful connections.

Could he be from a prominent family?

"Mr. Beaumont, what do we do now?" Apollo asked, his voice shaking. He knew if Caius went down, he was screwed too.

Caius, slumped on the sofa, looked like he'd aged ten years in a minute.

It was over. He knew he didn't stand a chance.

Caius, sweating bullets, asked in a shaky voice, "What do we do?"

"Mr. Beaumont, just agree to his terms and stop your losses in time. I've got some funds stashed away, enough for us to make a comeback. Plus, you've got a backer. Let's agree for now and stabilize things," Apollo quickly laid out the plan.

"But, it's ten billion dollars! I can't just give that up. I've busted my ass for years, and now I have to hand it all over?" Caius said, his eyes bloodshot.

He risked everything to get where he was today, and now was he to lose everything?

"Mr. Beaumont, we're outta options. We gotta take the hit. He's got too much dirt on us. If it leaks, we're both doing time. Then we're really screwed," Apollo said, practically begging. "Let's agree for now. You can hit up your backer later and get your revenge, take him down for good!"

Caius mulled it over, then finally gave in, his fists clenched tight. "Fine, bring him in."

With Caius's nod, Apollo bolted out the door.

"Mr. Jones, Mr. Beaumont wants to see you!" Apollo hollered, his voice dripping with respect.

William saw Apollo rushing over and raised an eyebrow. "Made up your mind yet?" he asked, ice-cold.

"Yeah, we're in," Apollo said, grinning like a suck-up.

"What does Mr. Beaumont think I am? Some errand boy? And what's with these goons? Planning to jump me?" William sneered.

Caius and Apollo were both scumbags.

"Mr. Jones, please, calm down. We messed up. We're sorry," Apollo said, trying to sound sincere.

Just then, Caius walked out and cut to the chase, "So what do you want?"

"Fifteen billion. Take it or leave it," William said, jacking up the price by five billion without blinking.

"You're pushing it!" Caius yelled, fuming.

Apollo quickly clamped a hand over Caius's mouth, looking panicked. "Mr. Beaumont, just agree."

"But where am I supposed to get an extra five billion?" Caius hissed.

"Just do it!" Apollo urged.

Caius was on the verge of tears but finally caved. "Fine."

"Awesome!" William grinned and had Patricia draft a new agreement.

Caius signed it, tears streaming down his face.

As the pen hit the paper, he crumpled to the ground.

It was all gone!

William, hands in his pockets, looked down at Caius with a smirk. "Mr. Beaumont, take care. If you think you can bounce back, come at me."

With that, he walked out with Patricia and the crew.

Patricia trailed behind, eyes glued to his back.

William seemed so manly.

He turned and caught her staring. "Why you looking at me like that?"

Patricia, blushing like crazy, quickly shook her head. "Nothing. Just think you're amazing. You left Caius with nothing, and we didn't spend a dime but made an extra five billion."

Her eyes sparkled with admiration.

William just smiled. Dealing with Caius was a piece of cake.

"So, what's next?" Patricia asked.

William looked up at the starry sky. "Just wait. Caius has a backer, and they won't let this slide. We'll take them all down. Oh, and tell our people to keep tabs on the Medical Association's branch. Time to make a move on them too."

Watching William walk away, Patricia knew a storm was coming.

Lindwood City was in for one hell of a shake-up.
