Chapter 416 Lesson

Caius knew the internet's power and the massive mess those ten trending topics could cause.

Outta nowhere, someone yelled, "Mr. Beaumont, we're screwed! We've been exposed!"

Apollo barged in, laptop in hand, looking like he was about to lose it.

Caius, already clued in, shot him a look and barked, "Drop those trending topics! I don't care what it costs, just do it!"

The mansion turned into a beehive, phones ringing off the hook.

Caius flopped onto the sofa, eyes glued to those ten trending topics.

Ten minutes ticked by.

The trending topics not only didn't diminish in popularity, but they surged even more dramatically!

Apollo showed up at the door again, looking like a ghost. "Mr. Beaumont, it's over! We can't bring them down! There are too many people on the other side, over a hundred bloggers with billions of followers!"

Caius rolled off the sofa, scaring a nearby woman who rushed to help him up, cooing, "Mr. Beaumont, are you okay?"

"Get the hell away from me!" Caius snapped, kicking her aside and stumbling to his feet. "Quick, find out who's gunning for us! This can't just be BK Pharmaceuticals!"

Caius realized he'd poked a bear.

Five minutes later, Patricia handed the phone to William, saying, "Mr. Jones, they're on the line."

William grinned, picked up the call, and said, "Mr. Beaumont, hello."

Caius, feeling like he was sitting on a bed of nails, replied, "Hello, Mr. Jones, I'm Caius, general manager of Infinity Insight Media. Nice to meet you."

William, leaning on the windowsill, said casually, "I bet you're not having a great day."

Patricia, standing behind him, couldn't help but smile.

William was rubbing salt in the wound.

Caius, holding back his rage, had no choice but to play along.

"Mr. Jones, let's cut to the chase. What will it take for you to stop?" Caius asked.

He added, "Mr. Jones, what's your game? I'm not someone to mess with!"

"Feeling the heat?" William said coldly. "When you went after BK Pharmaceuticals and Mary, this was bound to happen! And just so you know, you can kiss your company goodbye."

Caius was stunned, then laughed. "Mr. Jones, your tactics are impressive. But if you think you can take me down, you're dreaming! At worst, I'll lay low for a bit. You think that'll stop me from making money?"

William replied, "Go ahead, try."

And with that, he hung up.

Caius lost it, smashing everything in sight.

"Damn it! How dare he hang up on me! Who does he think he is? Some helper for BK Pharmaceuticals? Fine, I'll show him who's got my back!" Caius roared, grabbing his phone and calling the board members one by one.

Infinity Insight Media wasn't going down without a fight.

Meanwhile, after hanging up, William stared out the window, a wicked grin on his face. "Get the finance and accounting teams ready. Public opinion's ripe; let's start buying up Infinity Insight Media."

Earlier, Patricia had dug deep into Caius's background.

The online smear campaign was just the first step, meant to drag Infinity Insight Media and Caius through the mud.

This way, his company would hit a crisis.

Soon, the entertainment bloggers cleared out, and a bunch of suit-clad folks with laptops walked in.

Screens lit up with stock and fund analysis data on Infinity Insight Media.

These were pro consultants from securities and financial firms.

Ten minutes later, Patricia reported, "Mr. Jones, we're buying up shares like crazy, acquiring Infinity Insight Media at any cost. We now own sixty percent of their shares!"

Now, Infinity Insight Media's stock was tanking thanks to the online smear campaign.

But some folks still wouldn't sell.

"I want all the shares. Who's holding out?" William asked, frowning.

He hadn't seen this coming.

"The other side's playing it smart. They've caught on. We've doubled the stock price, but they're still not budging," Patricia replied.

"Jack it up to five times. No one's gonna pass up that kind of cash. I need to own Infinity Insight Media completely. Anyone messing with Mary's gotta face the music!" William said coldly, his look daring anyone to question him.

If George were handling this, it'd be a breeze.

But William didn't want to flex the family's muscle right now, knowing the branch family and Jessica were watching.

Sterling had already seen the trending topics about Infinity Insight Media and Caius blowing up online. He called, fuming, "Caius, what the hell's going on? You've been exposed?"

Caius replied bitterly, "I'm sorry, the other side's got some tricks. I'm on it. My bad."

"What? Apologize? Do you know how much I've spent? You actually..."

Sterling was livid, but the call cut off mid-rant.

"Hung up on me? Damn it!" Sterling fumed, practically steaming with anger.

Cassius, looking worried, asked, "What now?"

Sterling quickly calmed down, frowning. "It's fine. That was just the start. I have the ace up my sleeve. Without my say-so, BK Pharmaceuticals won't get the license."

Though there were hiccups, he had his own ways to deal.

At the BK Pharmaceuticals board office, Mary and the PR team were deep in discussion.

Half an hour ago, accusations against Infinity Insight Media and Caius flooded the internet.

At first, they were puzzled because these trending topics totally shifted the spotlight away from BK Pharmaceuticals.

Compared to BK Pharmaceuticals, folks were way more into the dirt on Infinity Insight Media and Caius.

Infinity Insight Media had a rep for being relentless paparazzi, always digging up dirt on celebs.

They'd exposed many celebs, breaking up a ton of couples.

Such a company was a plague in the entertainment world, hated by many celebs and entertainment companies.

The male manager said angrily, "Ms. Smith, it's them. They're the ones who slandered us. It's so satisfying to see them exposed!"

"Wow, who did this? This is awesome!" someone exclaimed.

"Yeah, ten trending topics all about them at once. Ms. Smith, your friend is incredible. When can we meet them and learn a thing or two?" a voice asked excitedly.

The PR team buzzed with excitement.

The person who exposed Infinity Insight Media and Caius was a hero in their eyes.

That night, many entertainment industry bigwigs were talking about it.

One of the twelve emperors of entertainment, Caius, was going down!

He must've pissed off the wrong person.

The mystery person behind this was seriously powerful.

This smear campaign against Infinity Insight Media must have cost at least a billion dollars!

Mary knew what this meant for her and the company. She frowned, grabbed her bag, and left the office.

'William, was it you?' Mary wondered.

She needed to find out for herself!

"Mr. Jones, it's done. They sold at five times the price," Patricia said, secretly admiring William's financial clout.

He'd already burned through nearly a billion dollars!

William, hands behind his back, looked out the window, a hint of ruthlessness in his eyes. "Good, let's go meet the main players. It's time they learned what it means to mess with BK Pharmaceuticals."

But just as he was about to leave, he got a call from Mary, her tone icy.

"William, where are you? I need to see you!" Mary demanded.

"Honey, what's so urgent? I've got something to handle here," William said gently, signaling everyone to hush. He then walked to the side, grinning.

Mary, sitting in her car, took a deep breath and asked, "Alright, let me ask you, was it you who exposed Infinity Insight Media and Caius?"
