Chapter 213 Apologize on Your Knees?

"Ma'am, the current owners of Villa No.1 are Mary Smith and William Jones," the property manager said, all smiles.

"What? Say that again!" Margaret's eyes widened in shock.

"The owners are Mary Smith and William Jones," the manager repeated, still smiling.

Margaret's heart raced as she glanced at William and Mary, who were grinning. It really was their villa! A two hundred million dollar villa!

Feeling elated and proud, Margaret put her phone on speaker, placed it on the coffee table, crossed her arms, and said smugly, "Say it louder. Who owns Villa No.1?"

The property manager, still smiling, said, "The current owners of Villa No.1 are Mary Smith and William Jones."

"Thank you," Margaret said, hanging up the phone and sitting back with an air of superiority.

Hazel, Delia, and Dorothy, along with their families, were stunned. This two hundred million dollar villa really belonged to Margaret's family!

"Margaret, is this really your house? Why didn't you tell us earlier? We were so worried you were being deceived," Hazel said, her face full of smiles.

Delia added, "Margaret, you're so lucky to live in such a villa."

Yancy and Ulysses exchanged envious glances. The Tyler family had bought the most expensive villa in Lindwood City.

Mary's heart skipped a beat. The villa had her name on it, and listed first at that. She looked at William, her eyes moist. She had once misunderstood him, but now she knew he truly loved her.

Everyone else felt uncomfortable, especially Dorothy, who gritted her teeth. "Margaret, how could your family afford a two hundred million dollar villa? Did William buy it? Where did the money come from?"

All eyes turned to William with suspicion. Margaret, realizing the villa also had William's name on it, was confused. Did William really buy it? Where did he get the money?

"Mary, what's going on? When did you buy the villa, and why didn't you tell me? And why does it have William's name on it?" Margaret asked.

William stepped forward to answer, but Margaret glared at him. "I'm not asking you. My daughter will answer."

Mary, displeased by Margaret's attitude, was about to explain when Dorothy interrupted, "Did you use the one billion dollars invested by the Jones Group from Imperial City to buy this villa?"

Everyone felt the same way, envying Mary while secretly despising her.

She'd only been chairwoman for a short time and was already misusing company funds. If things went south, could she handle the repercussions?

But everyone was eyeing that billion-dollar investment. If they got a piece, they'd be set for life.

Margaret, anxious, asked, "Mary, did you really use the funds from that investment deal to buy this villa? Won't there be trouble?"

If things went wrong, it could mean jail time. She wanted to live in this luxurious villa but not in constant fear.

Mary glanced at William, who took her hand and said, "It's fine. Even if we used the investment funds, there won't be any consequences because that money is also mine."

"What do you mean? The investment funds are yours? Who said you could speak?" Margaret interrupted, pulling Mary aside. "Mary, was this William's idea? Did he push you to buy this villa?"

Mary replied, "He bought it, but it's not..."

"Oh, Mary, how could you be so foolish? If something goes wrong, you'll be held responsible! How could you listen to William? And you even put his name on it."

Margaret was fixated on William's name being on the villa's deed. She didn't want him sharing their property.

Mary, feeling helpless, said, "Mom, don't worry. It's fine. There won't be a problem."

Margaret, deciding not to push further, steeled herself to live there, knowing too much worry would ruin her day.

Back in the living room, Margaret glared at William. "William, I'm warning you, don't get any ideas about our family! This villa can't be yours. Remove your name tomorrow and replace it with mine and Tyler's!"

William, slightly annoyed, replied, "What does this have to do with you? The villa has my and Mary's names on it. Why should your names be on it?"

"You!" Margaret was furious, speechless. "Did you buy this house with your money? Didn't you use Mary's money? You're just living off your wife; how could you speak so rudely to me? I'm your mother-in-law! If I say you are not living here, that will be that way."

Margaret felt humiliated by William's disrespect in front of so many relatives.

William, not wanting to explain, coldly said, "Margaret, remember. This villa has my and Mary's names on it. I am the owner here! If you want to live here, you need my permission!"

"What do you mean?" Margaret felt guilty, especially under William's cold gaze. He had grown bold, even daring to speak to her like this. How could Mary be so foolish to marry such an ungrateful man?

"I mean, I am the master of this house, understand?" William took a step forward, making Margaret shrink back in fear.

She stuttered, "What, what do you want? Mary's name is also on this house. What makes you in charge here?"

William, not wanting to explain, looked around at the relatives and shouted, "Let me tell you all, this is my house. If you want to stay and look around, behave yourselves! If not, get out!"

He was so dominating!

At that moment, William showed an unprecedented sharpness. He had always appeared weak, easily humiliated, and ridiculed by them. But today, the tables had turned.

The relatives exchanged glances, grabbed their bags, and quickly left. Tyler and Margaret were left standing in the large living room, at a loss.

"Did you forget what you said this morning?" William asked with a cold smile.

Margaret's back was drenched in sweat, feeling very guilty. She clearly remembered that if William really bought the villa, she would have to apologize. Would she apologize?
