Chapter 370 Get Ready to Get Out
"That car really took me back," William said, trying to play it cool. No point in hiding it now since everyone saw it. Plus, maybe they'd start showing him some respect.
Nancy, Ulysses, and Delia's faces all changed in an instant.
William actually had a Rolls-Royce picking him up.
"William, you serious? That car really picked you up?" Nancy asked again, practically bouncing with excitement as she hooked her arm around his.
William just nodded, keeping it low-key. "So, what are you all doing here?"
Nancy, Ulysses, and Delia were all looking at him like he was some kind of rockstar.
William was living in a big villa now and had a Rolls-Royce at his beck and call. Was Mary really treating him that well?
BK Pharmaceuticals was raking in the dough, no doubt about it.
Word on the street was even Crescent Investment Group wanted a piece of the action.
That was why they showed up.
Delia and Ulysses exchanged a look, then Delia smiled and said, "William, our place got torn down, and we had nowhere to go. Margaret said we could crash here for a few days."
Truth was, Delia had been begging for days.
Margaret, wanting to save face and needing some company, finally caved.
William's face tightened. Margaret had gone and made another decision without him.
But what could he do? They were already at the door; he couldn't just kick them out.
Seeing his face change, Delia and Ulysses felt awkward and quickly said, "William, don't worry. We won't mess up the place. Just a few days until we find somewhere else, then we're out."
William came back in a Rolls-Royce, so he must be different now.
In the past, Delia would've been all kinds of nasty.
But now, they had to butter him up.
Nancy chimed in, "William, just a few days. You can't be that stingy, right? Plus, I heard Sarah's home. I can hang out with her."
William sneered, "You? Weren't you the one who left Sarah alone at the amusement park last time?"
Nancy blushed, "I know I messed up. Forgive me, okay?"
William didn't want to drag it out and headed toward the villa.
Nancy, Delia, and Ulysses exchanged glances. Delia whispered, "What's up with William? He's got a luxury car picking him up. Is he still that loser?"
Ulysses muttered, "Can't judge a book by its cover. He's got skills in mooching off women. Now that he's with Mary, he's got status. Bet he's spent a ton of her money. We better watch our mouths. He probably holds grudges and is planning payback."
Ulysses was always a small-minded guy.
Delia nodded, pulling Nancy aside. "Nancy, get close to William and find out more. Maybe you can get a job at Mary's company and make some cash."
Nancy rolled her eyes, "Mom, I just graduated."
Delia glared, "So what? Mary's your cousin. She should help you out. At least get you a manager position. I'll talk to Margaret about it."
With that, she grabbed her luggage and headed into the villa.
As soon as they stepped into the living room, they were blown away by the luxury.
Even though they'd been here before, the villa's opulence still left them in awe.
It was so fancy.
Delia felt a mix of envy and jealousy, not wanting to leave.
She glanced at Ulysses, pulling him aside. "Ulysses, what do you think of this place?"
Ulysses nodded, eyes full of envy. "It's incredible. I'd give anything to live in a place like this."
Smiling, Delia whispered, "Then we won't leave. We'll move in and never leave. We'll talk to Margaret and get her to free up two rooms. There are plenty of rooms here, after all."
Ulysses's face twisted a bit. "Is that cool? Will Margaret go for it? And what about William and Mary? They gonna be okay with this?"
He was dying to stay here forever, but it wasn't his place.
Delia gave him a light slap and laughed, "Are you dumb? You're Tyler's brother. Think they can really kick you out? If they try, we'll make a scene. The neighbors will hear, and they'll be the ones embarrassed. How's that sound?"
Ulysses hesitated, eyeing the fancy villa a few more times before deciding. "Alright, you talk to Margaret, and I'll handle Tyler."
They agreed and quickly headed back to the living room.
Just then, Margaret strutted out of the bedroom, looking all posh and wealthy. She smiled, "Oh, Delia and Ulysses, long time no see. Come in, sit down. Just leave your stuff there. I'll have the maid tidy up later."
Delia quickly buttered her up, "Margaret, you even have a maid now. That's great."
Margaret beamed, sitting on the sofa with a small cape, acting all high and mighty.
Delia and Ulysses sat down, and they started chatting.
Nancy was off to the side, playing with her phone, snapping pics, and posting them on social media to show off.
"By the way, Margaret, I saw William roll up in a Rolls-Royce just now. Is your family that loaded now?" Delia mentioned casually.
Margaret straightened up immediately.
Where did William get a Rolls-Royce?
Didn't Jeffery say he was broke?
"Oh, really?" Margaret asked, trying to play it cool, but her face gave her away.
Delia, knowing Margaret well, caught the change and pretended to be surprised. "Margaret, isn't that car yours? I thought you bought it, especially since Mary is now the company's chairwoman."
Margaret was about to respond when Delia continued, "If it wasn't you, did William take money from Mary's company to make the purchase? My goodness, is he planning to embezzle your family fortune?"
That hit a nerve with Margaret.
William's family was broke, and he needed cash.
Was he eyeing Mary's company?
Furious, Margaret shouted up the stairs, "William, come down here right now! We need to talk!"
Delia and Ulysses exchanged sly smiles.
With Margaret's temper, William was in for it.
'How dare William show off in front of me? Now he's in trouble. Serves him right!' Delia thought, delighted. She couldn't stand William. How could a loser like him live in a villa and ride in a luxury car?
Nancy, standing aside, was full of doubts after hearing their conversation.
She thought William had really made it, but it turned out he was still mooching off Mary and even plotting against the Smith Family's property.
Instantly, she felt even more contempt for William.
William came down from the second floor, hands in his pockets, looking at the people in the living room. "Mom, what's up?"
"Don't call me Mom!" Margaret snapped, sitting upright on the sofa. Glaring at William, she scolded, "Delia just said you came back in a Rolls-Royce?"
William glanced at Delia, frowned slightly, and didn't deny it. "Yeah."
Margaret stood up and slapped him, pointing at his nose. "Damn it, William! You've been embezzling money from the company to buy a car, haven't you? How much have you taken from Mary's compamy? If you don't come clean right now, I'll call the cops and have you arrested!"
William was stunned, not expecting Margaret to slap him.
Furious, he questioned, "You think I bought that Rolls-Royce with the company's money?"
His cold gaze swept from Margaret to Delia.
"Isn't it? How else could you afford such a luxury car?" Delia sneered, full of mockery and disdain.
William didn't explain. He picked up his phone, dialed George's number, and said, "Get to the villa, now!"
After that, he hung up, looked coldly at everyone in the living room, and said in a chilling voice, "Get ready to get out of this villa!"
