Chapter 183 Beating Up Margaret

Margaret had gone mad.

She was now filled with nothing but rage.

How dare that useless William hit her? If she didn't teach him a lesson, how could she maintain her position in this household?

After cursing, Margaret raised her hand, ready to smash the bracelet against the wall.

Suddenly, a roar, like an eruption of furious flames, filled the entire living room

"How dare you! Are you looking for death?"

William's eyes were bloodshot, and his fists clenched tightly; the veins on his neck and forehead were visibly bulging from anger.

Margaret was almost scared to death.

Before she could understand what was happening, William had already approached her, his eyes burning with rage, staring at her deadly.

William raised his hand and directly grabbed Margaret's neck, lifting her whole body up.

"Margaret! I've put up with you for three years, and today you've crossed my line again and again. You're asking for death."

William's voice was filled with a chilling aura of anger.

This aura, like an ice storm, instantly filled the room.

Margaret kicked her legs wildly, continuously slapping William's arm with her hands. Her eyes were rolling back and there were muffled sounds from her throat,. She begged, "Let... let go, I... I can't breathe."

She felt the fear from the depths of her heart.

At this moment, Margaret deeply knew the taste of death.

William just glared at her. He shouted angrily, ", Give me the bracelet!"

At this point, Margaret was too scared. So she took off the bracelet from her wrist immediately and handed it to William, begging, "Here, take it; let go, I'm dying."

William coldly took the bracelet, then released his hand. Margaret collapsed to the ground, coughing and gasping for air.

Her eyes were trembling. Just now, she had truly felt a deathly threat from William. It was so terrifying.

Was he still the William who had been submissive and cowardly for three years?

After finally catching her breath, Margaret felt both scared and furious.

She had lost face in front of this useless man. If word got out, wouldn't people laugh at her?

How could she face anyone in the future?

The more she thought about it, the angrier she got.

Margaret got up from the ground, and while William was looking at the bracelet, she slapped him hard across the face. She pointed at his nose and cursed, "William, this slap is for earlier. I'm your mother-in-law, and you dare to hit me? Today, when Mary comes back, I'll make her divorce you. I'll kick you out of the Smith Family. I'll call the police and have you arrested, you useless man!"

She had to break up Mary and William.

This was intolerable.

William was getting more and more arrogant, already daring to hit her. What would happen in the future?

William stood there with the bracelet in his hand. He stared at Margaret in his red eyes.

She was indeed a fearless, vicious woman.

Even now, she didn't reflect on her own mistakes.

William struck directly, this punch filled with his anger, landing hard on Margaret's face.

Margaret fell to the ground and her nose was bleeding. She clutched her face, curling up in front of the sofa, crying for help.

"Blood, I'm bleeding, help! Murder!"

However, William stood silently in front of Margaret, looking at her wailing on the ground, and said coldly, "Let me give you a piece of advice. In your eyes, I may be useless, but my patience is limited. If you challenge my bottom line again, I won't hesitate to kill you."

Kill?

Margaret was trembling with fear because she knew that William might actually do it.

Why was he so fierce?

Would he really dare to kill her?

"Get out! The Smith Family doesn't need a son-in-law like you!"

Margaret was scared. She clutched her nose and pointed at the door.

She was terrified now, afraid that William might do something drastic in a fit of rage.

At this moment, Mary appeared at the door.

She was stunned, especially when she saw the situation inside. She hurriedly ran over to support Margaret, exclaiming, "Mom, what happened to you? I'll take you to the hospital."

As Margaret saw Mary return, she felt relieved and immediately started to make a scene, shouting, "What hospital! Just let me die here today. Look at who hit me, it was William!"

Upon hearing it, Mary turned angrily and confusedly to asked William, "William, what are you doing? She's my mom!"

William knew what would happen. With Margaret around, the matter today would never end.

He said coldly, "She's your mom; you can ask her what she did."

"You're lying. What did I do? It's just a broken bracelet, and you hit me for that? You even beat me like this, I'm your mother-in-law. I don't care. You two must divorce today. If you don't, I'll kill myself right here."

Margaret was throwing a tantrum, starting to act unreasonably.

She wouldn't let this go until she vented her anger today.

Mary didn't understand what was going on and tried to stop Margaret's nosebleed, but Margaret refused. She continued shouting, "Don't touch me! Let the neighbors see how powerful our son-in-law is, hitting his mother-in-law. Let's see if he dares to show his face outside again."

Mary, knowing Margaret's temper, pulled William aside and asked coldly, "William, what happened? Why did you beat my mom?"

William took out the bracelet in his hand and said coldly, "Your mom stole this from us and wanted to sell it."

Mary looked down at the bracelet in William's hand. She recognized it. William had always treated it as a treasure, saying it belonged to his mother.

However, hitting someone over a bracelet seemed a bit excessive.

William saw the doubt on Mary's face and, after a long silence, said, "It's my mother's keepsake."

Mary's heart trembled. A keepsake from William's deceased mother meant it was irreplaceable.

Suddenly, Mary understood why William was so furious.

Margaret had really done something wrong this time.

This time, she would unconditionally stand by William.

Mary turned around and looked coldly at Margaret on the floor and said displeasedly, "Mom, you've gone too far. Do you know what this bracelet means to William?"

Margaret didn't care and said angrily and unreasonably, "What could it be? Even if it's a treasure, does that justify him hitting me?"

Mary knew what's Margaret like  and wondered how she had ever been a teacher in college.

"Mom, that bracelet is William's mother's keepsake. How could you stole it and tried to sell it? You've gone too far," Mary said coldly.

She felt helpless and desperate for the first time towards Margaret.

Margaret was shocked when she heard this. William's mother's keepsake?

Deceased?

"What? Something from a dead person? That's so unlucky!"

Margaret jumped up, feeling uncomfortable as if she were covered in thorns.

With that, William's previously calm mood exploded.

"Try to say that again!"

William was furious again. How could Margaret say something so brainless?

Margaret was startled by William's aura, afraid he might punch her again, and muttered a few curses.

Mary felt a headache. She pulled William to leave and glared at Margaret, saying, "Mom, don't do this again. I'm really ashamed of you."

Ashamed?

Margaret was furious so she pointed at Mary and cursed, "Fine, you've grown up and are siding with outsiders now? Get out, both of you. I don't have a daughter like you anymore."

Mary paused, looked at William beside her, and after a moment of silence, said, "Fine. I won't come back to this house anymore."

With that, the mother-daughter relationship was completely severed.

Mary had decided that William was her everything, and today, Margaret was clearly in the wrong.

If it meant severing ties, so be it.

Margaret, in a fit of rage, started smashing things. She pointed at William and cursed, "And you, you useless man, don't come back either. You're not my son-in-law. Get out, both of you!"

She was furious that Mary had completely turned against her.

All for this useless William.

William turned back. He looked at the rampaging Margaret, and said, "Honestly, I don't care if I'm your son-in-law or not. The property deed you took from us, consider it a gift from me. I won't want that house anymore. In a few days, Mary and I will move to a new home. I hope by then, you won't come begging to live with us."

Margaret sneered. "You, such a useless man, can buy a house? Just go sleep on the streets."

William shook his head, his eyes cold, and said, "Margaret, let me give you a piece of advice. If you dare to bully Sarah again, don't blame me for being unkind."

With that, William and Mary left the Smith Family's old house.

Margaret was left alone, furious and smashing things.

Peter had long since run away.

"Fine, you're all ungrateful."

Margaret was furious, her hair had been disheveled. She rushed to the kitchen, looking at the prepared medicine, feeling a surge of malice.

It must be because of the child that Mary stood by William.

Tomorrow, she would make sure Mary drank this medicine.

Even if she had to force it down her throat.

Mary must not stay with William.

She had to marry into a wealthy family.

The next day, Margaret called Mary to come back and said she had something important to discuss.

Mary was still angry about what happened previous night, but Margaret kept explaining and lowering her stance on the phone, saying she wanted to find a chance to apologize to William.

Mary believed her and returned to the Smith Family's old house at noon.

"Mom, what is it that you wanted to talk about?" Mary asked as she entered without taking off her shoes.

Margaret came out of the kitchen with the prepared medicine, smiling, "Mary, this is the medicine to help with your pregnancy. You didn't drink it last time, but this time you must drink it. Don't waste my efforts."
