Chapter 172 Margaret's Conspiracy

The shop owner was a middle-aged, chubby man. He glanced at Margaret, who was wrapped up tightly.

Abortion pills?

Those were illegal now.

"No, we don't sell that," the chubby shop owner refused directly.

Margaret took out $10,000 from her bag, slapped it on the table, and said coldly, "Do you have it or not?"

The chubby shop owner frowned as he looked at the money, then scrutinized Margaret again. He repeated, "No, we stopped selling that a long time ago. Take your money back."

Margaret then took out another $20,000 from her bag, slapped it on the table, and asked, "Abortion pills, do you have them or not?"

To be honest, Margaret felt a pang of pain when she handed over the money.

However, for Mary to marry into a wealthy family, and for her own chance to live a life of luxury in her later years, she was determined.

Mary wouldn't listen to her, so she had to take matters into her own hands.

This time, the shop owner was stunned. Looking at the $30,000, he had a  crooked thought.

He quickly stepped out from the counter, pulled down the curtain, and then pocketed the money with a fawning smile. "Please wait a moment."

He then turned and went into the back yard. After a while, he came out with a packet of medicine and placed it on the table. "Who is it for?"

Margaret gave the owner a cold look and said, "None of your business. How should it be taken? It won't harm the adult, right?"

The owner replied, "To be honest, abortion pills are harmful to the adult's body. But you can buy some additional health supplements as well. I'll prepare them for you."

After saying that, the chubby shop owner prepared a few packets of health and calming supplements.

Margaret spent over $40,000 in total and left the shop.

For Margaret, a woman who valued money above all else, spending over $40,000 was really a sacrifice.

As soon as she got home, she started preparing the concoction.

When Tyler came back, he asked curiously, "What are you busy with? Who's sick?"

Margaret felt a bit guilty, knowing that what she was doing was unethical. She quickly explained, "Isn't Mary pregnant? I got some supplements to help with the pregnancy."

Tyler laughed and said, "Well, didn't you say this morning that you didn't want this baby? Now you're fussing over it. You have tough mouth and soft heart. I think William and Mary are happy together. You should stop criticizing William so much, after all, we're all family."

Feeling guilty like a thief, Margaret didn't dare to say much. She just smiled and replied, "Got it, got it. You go ahead with your work. I'll take it to Mary once it's ready."

Tyler didn't say anything more and went inside, humming a tune.

Meanwhile, William was in the Golden Age Group's office and had a talk with George.

"George, I have good news for you. Mary is pregnant."

William was overjoyed, sitting with his legs crossed, radiating happiness.

George was excited and said, "Really?"

William nodded and said, "Yes, we found out this morning."

"That's great, that's great. Mr. Mario Jones will be so happy. He is going to have two grandsons."

George wiped his tearful eyes, genuinely happy for William.

The Jones family was going to have another baby.

The birth of the child would surely be a momentous event.

"What are you planning to do?" George asked.

William thought for a moment and said, "Once Mary has the baby, I'll take them home. It's time to reveal my true identity to them."

William had been thinking about it for a long time, especially after what happened this morning. It had a big impact on him.

Margaret had always looked down on him. It was time to reveal his true identity to her and show her what kind of man the son-in-law she had scorned for three years really was!

"By the way, how's my dad doing?" William asked.

George sighed and shook his head. "Young master, are you really not planning to go back now? Mr. Mario Jones misses you a lot, and there are many issues at home that need you to take charge. His health is deteriorating."

George was also very anxious. Mario's health was declining day by day, and the Jones family's vast wealth and business needed William to return and inherit.

The Jones family could not fall into Jessica's hands.

William's eyes darkened, and he nodded. "I know, soon."

William also wanted to return, but he had to wait a bit longer due to his agreement with Jessica.

In these final days, he had to keep his composure, or everything would be for naught.

"Alright, if there's nothing else, I'll head back now," William said.

Just as William was about to leave, George hurriedly asked, "What are you planning to do about Susan? Her birthday is coming up in a few days, and she's planning a big party here. She had invited a lot of high-profile guests, including some coming all the way from Imperial City."

William's face darkened. Need it to be such a grand affair?

What about the promise he made to her?

What exactly was Susan trying to do?

"I'll figure it out myself. Just prepare a gift for me," William said, then walked out of the office.

As soon as he left Golden Age Group, William ran into Lori at the underground entrance.

Lori was dressed provocatively.

"Hey, watch where you're going."

Lori bumped right into William and angrily cursed.

"William? Why is it you?"

Lori looked up, ready to curse some more, but when she saw it was William standing in front of her, she immediately sneered.

William frowned and said coldly, "Watch your mouth."

Lori mockingly flipped her hair and sneered. "So, are you still pretending to be ignorant about the despicable things Mary has done?"

William was such a loser. Mary had already cheated on him, and he still had the nerve to show up here?

Did he even know where he was?

Golden Age Group, it was the top company in the city.

"Lori, watch your mouth!" William had been in a good mood, but now he was really annoyed.

Lori was just looking for trouble.

Lori was stunned, not expecting William to talk to her like that.

Lori slapped William hard. She pointed at his nose and cursed , "William, who do you think you are, daring to talk to me like that? Do you want me to get someone to beat you up?"

William was dumbfounded. He didn't expect Lori to slap him out of nowhere. It was too sudden.

"Lori! Are you looking for trouble?"

William was furious. He could tolerate Margaret hitting him, but who did Lori think she was?

Last time at the hotel, he had helped Lori pay over $600,000.

This wretched woman.

As Lori saw William get angry, he kicked him in the groin and cursed viciously, "Screw you! Why are you getting all tough? I can't be bothered with you. Go check on your wife."

With that, Lori stomped off in her high heels, swaying her hips.

William was in pain, clutching his abdomen.

Lori really hit hard.

Meanwhile, after preparing the medicine, Margaret hurriedly called Mary.

"Mary, where are you?" Margaret asked cheerfully.

Mary was just getting off work and was about to go to the hospital.

Still upset about the morning's events, Mary replied irritably, "I'm heading to the hospital. What do you want? If it's about this morning, I don't want to talk about it."

Margaret quickly laughed and said, "No, I'm heading to the hospital now. Wait for me."

Mary hung up the phone. She felt puzzled for not understanding what Margaret was up to now.

Back at the hospital, after spending some time with Sarah, Margaret arrived with a thermos.

Margaret was very attentive and fawning. She said with a smile, "Mary, I know I did the wrong thing this morning. I brought you some supplements to help with the pregnancy. Drink it."

As she spoke, Margaret opened the thermos, revealing a dark concoction with a strong smell.

Mary had never liked taking medicine. Pinching her nose, she waved her hand and said, "Mom, take it away. I don't want to drink it. It smells awful."

Margaret wasn't about to miss this opportunity. She pleaded earnestly, "You don't understand. Drink it. It's for your own good. Are you still mad at me?"

Margaret was clearly unhappy. She put the bowl aside and started to fake cry. "Mary, I'm doing this for your sake. Why can't you appreciate my good intentions?"

Upon seeing Margaret crying, Mary quickly said, "Alright, I'll drink it, okay?"

She glanced at Margaret, picked up the bowl of concoction from the table, and made a face of disgust.

It tasted awful.

"Drink it quickly," Margaret urged impatiently.
